Have been twice for about a month each and used Wilderness both times. Love New Zealand and all it has to offer. Don't go on vacation...........go on a journey!!!!! :) I would agree that having WiFi in the camper was awesome. The second trip, I had my tablet up on the dash with google maps up and it really did change the game. It saved a lot of time and actually cut way, way down on the stress level. ......which wasn't that high anyway, but it did make a very positive impact on that 2nd trip.

It's great that you were all able to adapt so well to the smaller space of this RV versus Ginger. But I'm guessing that after being in this RV for a while that Ginger will seem like a palace compared to it. It's interesting to see how well this RV is designed, with them making very good use of all of the space it has. I really like the skylight/vent that seems really nice. Thanks for the tour, I enjoyed it very much.
The more amazing part of the motorhome you're staying in is that if you was going to buy it they aren't that expensive, in the UK that motorhome costs abut £50k ($65k) and nothing in the US class C market even comes close to the build quality or finishes in that price range.
YES YES YES!!! This is the video that I have been wishing for! I absolutely love this MotorCoach! Mark, you and Beautiful Trish, did a great job demonstrating the coach and best way to organize it for the most practical use. We are having the Tiffin Wayfarer built at this time. It’s the 24TW and we have two teenagers also. This gave me a new perspective on giving the boys the back bedroom with the twin beds. My husband and I of course get up earlier so, Now I decided we will take the overhead bunk! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us! I’m one of your biggest fans. Love the French press, however, when camping it is a bit of a pain to clean so we have moved over to the pour over method with disposable filters. The grind is also the same as used in a French press. Coffee is great and cleanup easier. Also, really enjoyed the walk through. I am now rethinking how we have organized everything in our super c.
Hey Marc, when you talked about needing to see the navigation from your iPhone for you and Trish; I think your F250 has CarPlay and if so, you can get google or apple maps on your screen in the truck.
pour water on coffee, place lid on, leave for a few mins, then press down. the coffee should be easier to depress . hope that helps and thanks for your adventures!

Hey Marc & Trish So we have booked a 28 day trip to New Zealand in an RV with a rental company owned by the parents of one of our customers, (Travel New Zealand RV rental) supply you with almost everything but after watching this video we now know that we will have to take a lot more things with us then first anticipated. Anyways thanks for such a cool and informative video. Oh and love your new big rig.
The camper looks like the FICA campers in US. So from the conversation at the end it seems that NZ camping is like what the USA was in the 50-60's maybe early 70's.

Have always had a good french press for camping/rv. We currently have a double wall stainless steel french press that won't break like glass which is amazing. And can make with hot water from stove, campfire, any heat source, etc. Pair with a good manual or usb/rechargeable grinder. Can set next to campfire without plastic melting.
On your F250 do you have the capability for Apple car play or Android Auto? I have an F350 and it has Android Auto, very easy to use with Google maps and even better Waze. No special mount necessary.

You kinda seem surprised how spacious this “little” rig is compared to your own travel trailer and how well thought the interior is designed e.g. the cover on the kitchen sink and the cooking area or stove and the storage underneath as well the bed arrangement and how powerful the diesel engine is. In Europe most camping sites also have these “community” kitchen to either cook/make food or do dishes for people traveling on motorcycles or doing camping in tents. And they also have showers and toilets. I think most people even though they have cassette toilets and showers most people use the amenities like shower and toilet so they don’t have use toilet and shower in the rig and also empty the toilet and fill up water. It seems funny to me how North American camp sites don’t have these amenities like community kitchens. I also think cassette toilet is the “normal” in caravans or travel trailers or rv’s outside North America. Other than the downside of the capacity of a cassette toilet I think it is less gross than emptying a black tank and it seems way faster and more hygienic. Maybe I wrong? You also mentioned the sorting of garbage or rubbish. In Denmark most places and cities you have to sort your garbage in metal, cardboard, plastic, biodegradable such as food, and electronic (things such as consumer electronics) and materials you can’t place in one of the above mentioned categories. How do you sort things in the States? I guess it’s up the individual state, county, municipality and city. The rubbing aorting we saw was that at the camp site or do you do that all over NZ? I thought you had built in GPS or SatNav in the F250? As always great video
I did notice you said you run your fridge on lpg as you drive. A huge NO NO NO. It is highly illegal as the spark can cause an explosion, especially if refuelling at a petrol station (sorry for the Australian terminologies). Your fridge should be running off the house battery which is charged by the alternator as you drive, or the solar panel when you stop.

we have a metal french press and the plunger works great. Maybe yours has too much liquid in it? Also I am proud of New Zeland for banning the stupid plastic grocery bags because they are a pollutant in the oceans.
It's all very much like our campsites here in the UK. The random chats while emptying the toilet, washing dishes or walking to the showers in your pjs first thing in the morning lol. We have a 7 meter long caravan for our family of 5 and our dog, it takes some playing about to get storage how you want it but so worth it.

Great video! Totally agree with you about the US manufacturers and all the dark wood and dark colors they use. What are they thinking? We have found lots of RVs that we love the floorpan and layout but can not stand the dark color scheme. Although we do love the light grey on grey color combo that some manufacturers are using on the new 2019 models.
Yes, here in the States you most definitely don't want to make coffee with a "plunger" :-) The most interesting tidbit that I took away from the video was your description of the philosophical and cultural differences based on the country's acceptance and appreciation of the RV lifestyle. It seems to be almost the opposite here in the US with cities in Florida that forbid ANY RV parking whatsoever as an example ! One important aspect you didn't mention was WiFi availability and speeds (not including your mobile hotspot).

You should have apple CarPlay and android auto in a 17 or newer ford with the large screen. Just plug your phone in through usb and it basically mirrors your phone screen. Most navigation apps work just like on the phone.

They have younger kids and tend to feature them more flagging their channel to protect them from weirdos. Soon YT will get it dialed-in and things will return to normal.

Class C for full living with teens... probably not, but it's the only way to go in NZ. Perhaps we'd consider it as an empty nester rig or a super C, but not anytime soon.
Keep Your Daydream Super C is a great way to go, but only really available in US. I like the motorhome vs pull trailer , predominantly because you don’t have to get out in the weather when you stop for a break/coffee. It’s all in one, so setup is a lot easier as you also found. The downside is you may choose to tow a small 4wd toad for off-road trips and grocery shopping.

We got a great laugh when the touring Americans discovered the never seen before inventions of clothes pegs (Kiwis might call them clothes pins) and the rotary clothes line. What was it you said Trish, "amazing, what a great idea" or something similar. If you ever need to borrow any clothes pegs most Australin homes would have many spares, hey, we even have special containers to hold them for you. One could not have scripted such a great moment, we love you, keep them coming. Downunda - Class C owner Melbourne Australia
PSA: when the plunger won't go down on those, good idea to remove the lid, then put it back on - in my experience, it's an air bubble of some kind, and if you push hard enough when meeting resistance like that, scalding hot water & grounds explode out of the french press giving you 2nd degree burns on vital parts of your upper anatomy, leaving you with weeks of agony, dressing changes and scars.
Fabulous video as always. Very informative. We presently have a Class C and I can honestly say I think that as small as the kitchen is in the Peak 4, it might just have more storage than we have in ours. And I agree about the lighter wood tones in the RV. When we bought our's, we were able to find a lighter colored decor, but truthfully I'd love for it to be even lighter wood tones. We've got great windows in our rig, but that window over the kitchen space would be great to have. Our kitchen window is so tiny, and even when I open up the blinds it really doesn't give me much of anything to work with. Great tip from Trish on having the trash can and a recycle bag near your work space for immediate sorting. And Marc, might just do the same for us when it comes to navigation. My husband is our navigator, but sometimes he squirrels and we end up missing our turn/off ramp. Y'all be careful, and safe travels.

For us, having a 7" android radio in the center dash, connected to a Verizon prepaid hotspot, gives us both the ability to see the route on Waze or on Google Maps. Has worked really well for us in southern AZ, NM and most of TX.
Great video, I use to travel to NZ and Australia for work, I took 4 plug strip (US), so I used one adapter to plug it into, then plugged all my equipment into, worked well. Love the AU power system.
Our last two travel trailers had/have that feature. Push automatic button and connected toshore, it's on electric. Unplug, switches immediately to propane.
Do you have to re adjust the settings on ur fridge? Our fridge has 2 different dials 1 controls the temp when on shore power and 1 controls temp when on propane

I have a question about how much stuff you took with you going over, how much did you have to purchase once you got there, how much of what you bought did you bring home, and how much stuff you left behind? I know you wouldn't bring back dish soap, but did you pass that stuff off to others or was it just thrown away? What about the towels and such? Like you said, you went traveling which is completely different from vacationing/visiting and the amount of "stuff" you need to travel is different than what you need to visit.

Great tour of the RV and great tips! It looks like a nice rig and I love how you made it work for your family. Yes, teens like to sleep! My youngest son can still sleep, has since he was a baby and he is 23 now. I love too how this rig works for more than two people. The size isn't huge, but it is well thought out and with your tips and tricks, it makes it very doable. I can imagine it is even better for a couple. Beautiful scenery and I'm so glad I got to see your video's as I will never make it to these wonderful places.

Marc, for the GPS in the 250. Check out Builtright Industries. They make a dash mount for the truck. Couple the mount with some Ram mounts and you would be set. You could also have camera mounts attached also. I think it's something you could really use!
In the parks in Alberta Canada you have community washing sinks. I miss those, it's so convenient! How is this right a class C? It looks so small compared to ours in the States, I thought it was a class B.

Not reading through all the comments to see if someone already addressed this, but....I have the same generation SuperDuty (an F350) and unless you went super cheap (which I don't thing you did) you have the Sync 3 system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Just plug your phone in and you have Google Maps on the big center stack screen. I use mine all the time, even for just a quick run down to the grocery store.
Yes, I just found out that the new iOS 12 update allows Google Maps to work through Apple play. Yet, I still dont' like the radio turning off/on as maps connects. We're still testing it.
@@KeepYourDaydream Not sure about that issue, but I use Android. The radio does get quieter when Maps gives direction info, but the radio doesn't turn off. Anyway, thanks for all the great videos. I've been following since Season 1 and will be joining the KYD Insiders soon.

we in europe normally carry 2 casettes in bigger RV's. Just in case you miss the dumping station. Haven't use my extra casette since 2 years.

It's actually a Class B Eurovan. A Class C has a full bath.
Why diesel is so much better than gasoline.

We have found NZ to be like US a few decades ago, so I'd have to guess the construction is better due to having pride of craftsmanship.

If you check out the nuCamp Avia or nuCamp Cirrus, you will find a lot of similarities with the New Zealand RV, built in Sugarcreek, OH

Could you plug your phone into your F-250 and use Apple CarPlay? That's what I do with my iPhone and Ford Fusion.

we have a metal french press and the plunger works great. Maybe yours has too much liquid in it? Also I am proud of New Zeland for banning the stupid plastic grocery bags because they are a pollutant in the oceans.
It's all very much like our campsites here in the UK. The random chats while emptying the toilet, washing dishes or walking to the showers in your pjs first thing in the morning lol. We have a 7 meter long caravan for our family of 5 and our dog, it takes some playing about to get storage how you want it but so worth it.

Great video! Totally agree with you about the US manufacturers and all the dark wood and dark colors they use. What are they thinking? We have found lots of RVs that we love the floorpan and layout but can not stand the dark color scheme. Although we do love the light grey on grey color combo that some manufacturers are using on the new 2019 models.

Yes, here in the States you most definitely don't want to make coffee with a "plunger" :-) The most interesting tidbit that I took away from the video was your description of the philosophical and cultural differences based on the country's acceptance and appreciation of the RV lifestyle. It seems to be almost the opposite here in the US with cities in Florida that forbid ANY RV parking whatsoever as an example ! One important aspect you didn't mention was WiFi availability and speeds (not including your mobile hotspot).
WIFI was smoking fast. Or streaming fast I should say. Just about everywhere but the remote parts of the west coast and even then it wasn't bad.

You should have apple CarPlay and android auto in a 17 or newer ford with the large screen. Just plug your phone in through usb and it basically mirrors your phone screen. Most navigation apps work just like on the phone.
I would like to see how much it cost you to stay there a month. Total cost video.

They have younger kids and tend to feature them more flagging their channel to protect them from weirdos. Soon YT will get it dialed-in and things will return to normal.

Class C for full living with teens... probably not, but it's the only way to go in NZ. Perhaps we'd consider it as an empty nester rig or a super C, but not anytime soon.
Keep Your Daydream Super C is a great way to go, but only really available in US. I like the motorhome vs pull trailer , predominantly because you don’t have to get out in the weather when you stop for a break/coffee. It’s all in one, so setup is a lot easier as you also found. The downside is you may choose to tow a small 4wd toad for off-road trips and grocery shopping.

We got a great laugh when the touring Americans discovered the never seen before inventions of clothes pegs (Kiwis might call them clothes pins) and the rotary clothes line. What was it you said Trish, "amazing, what a great idea" or something similar.
If you ever need to borrow any clothes pegs most Australin homes would have many spares, hey, we even have special containers to hold them for you. One could not have scripted such a great moment, we love you, keep them coming.

PSA: when the plunger won't go down on those, good idea to remove the lid, then put it back on - in my experience, it's an air bubble of some kind, and if you push hard enough when meeting resistance like that, scalding hot water & grounds explode out of the french press giving you 2nd degree burns on vital parts of your upper anatomy, leaving you with weeks of agony, dressing changes and scars.
Fabulous video as always. Very informative. We presently have a Class C and I can honestly say I think that as small as the kitchen is in the Peak 4, it might just have more storage than we have in ours. And I agree about the lighter wood tones in the RV. When we bought our's, we were able to find a lighter colored decor, but truthfully I'd love for it to be even lighter wood tones. We've got great windows in our rig, but that window over the kitchen space would be great to have. Our kitchen window is so tiny, and even when I open up the blinds it really doesn't give me much of anything to work with. Great tip from Trish on having the trash can and a recycle bag near your work space for immediate sorting. And Marc, might just do the same for us when it comes to navigation. My husband is our navigator, but sometimes he squirrels and we end up missing our turn/off ramp. Y'all be careful, and safe travels.

Canadians are huge RV camping aficionados and can run circles around American RV'ers. Plus they know how to behave in the outdoors.
For us, having a 7" android radio in the center dash, connected to a Verizon prepaid hotspot, gives us both the ability to see the route on Waze or on Google Maps. Has worked really well for us in southern AZ, NM and most of TX.

Great video, I use to travel to NZ and Australia for work, I took 4 plug strip (US), so I used one adapter to plug it into, then plugged all my equipment into, worked well. Love the AU power system.
Automatic setting that puts the fridge from shore power to propane?! That’s a dream feature!! No more wasted food!
Our last two travel trailers had/have that feature. Push automatic button and connected toshore, it's on electric. Unplug, switches immediately to propane.

Our Class C has this feature. We don't even think about it.
Do you have to re adjust the settings on ur fridge? Our fridge has 2 different dials 1 controls the temp when on shore power and 1 controls temp when on propane
@@journey2fifty , we can select gas, AC or auto(matic). (Not different dials, just one push button that cycles through the three different options.)

I have a question about how much stuff you took with you going over, how much did you have to purchase once you got there, how much of what you bought did you bring home, and how much stuff you left behind? I know you wouldn't bring back dish soap, but did you pass that stuff off to others or was it just thrown away? What about the towels and such? Like you said, you went traveling which is completely different from vacationing/visiting and the amount of "stuff" you need to travel is different than what you need to visit.

Great tour of the RV and great tips! It looks like a nice rig and I love how you made it work for your family. Yes, teens like to sleep! My youngest son can still sleep, has since he was a baby and he is 23 now. I love too how this rig works for more than two people. The size isn't huge, but it is well thought out and with your tips and tricks, it makes it very doable. I can imagine it is even better for a couple. Beautiful scenery and I'm so glad I got to see your video's as I will never make it to these wonderful places.

Marc, for the GPS in the 250. Check out Builtright Industries. They make a dash mount for the truck. Couple the mount with some Ram mounts and you would be set. You could also have camera mounts attached also. I think it's something you could really use!
In the parks in Alberta Canada you have community washing sinks. I miss those, it's so convenient! How is this right a class C? It looks so small compared to ours in the States, I thought it was a class B.

I am not a RV traveller, but your vlog because of the interesting places you visit, know the culture, the beautiful scenarios etc. I just wanted to say it was a lovely video, well coordinated, precise, with pros and cons clearly said and I know a lot of RV travellers will get help by watching this video. Not reading through all the comments to see if someone already addressed this, but....I have the same generation SuperDuty (an F350) and unless you went super cheap (which I don't thing you did) you have the Sync 3 system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Just plug your phone in and you have Google Maps on the big center stack screen. I use mine all the time, even for just a quick run down to the grocery store.
Yes, I just found out that the new iOS 12 update allows Google Maps to work through Apple play. Yet, I still dont' like the radio turning off/on as maps connects. We're still testing it.
@@KeepYourDaydream Not sure about that issue, but I use Android. The radio does get quieter when Maps gives direction info, but the radio doesn't turn off.
