I am a truck driver and watched this episode just to see your experience at the Blue Beacon. Liked your comment about truck stops not being a big deal, because they're really not. Glad to see a RV channel that does not show or imply truck stops (and truckers) are scary and need to be avoided at all costs.
I had a lot of fun watching this video. My second RV trip went to Tennessee then down to Marcella AR north of where you are at. Fun to find out Rich is headed up here. Have him stop by and say hi. We don't have blue berries, but we do have huckleberries :-)
A nice dense material for pads for tires and jacks are the rubber horse stall mats. They are 3/4” thick and virtually indestructible. Pretty easily cut to size with a shop knife. Another advantage is they don’t easily slide on gravel or concrete like the plastic ones do
Took your family videos to heart and stopped to see my aunt, the hugs were neck breaking and the food ,,,,,was soooo good, loved this video. Parked our tiny trailer in the Drive way its the best way to visit family truly is..... and the Hugs...and then more hugs..
Awesome Video Mark and Trish !! Loved the Truck Wash.. I will have to give that a go.. Getting too old to be on a ladder.. Well, Not That Old.. Well Maybe too old.. LOL ! Let's just say .. Safer !! Is 65 too old ??? LOL ! Really loved the Family time... Loved the Front Porch !! Loved the property !! You guys are sooooooo Charming to hang out with... If I could ever meet you in person I would jump at the chance… You guys are my top of the list Channel !!!! Stay Healthy and Happy !! ;)
OK...you have inspired me. Mostly because we wash( meaning me)our rig the moment we pull into our home from a trip. I never want to, but I do. Blue Beacon here I come. Thanks.
You two are so fun to watch :) Totally agree about visiting family in RV - no putting out, have all your own stuff, get away whenever you need some space, lol!
Absolutely most informative and entertaining video blog on RUclips. Given that I was born in the early ‘50’s loved the comment about reunions and the “funny clothes of the ‘80’s...apparently someone missed the 60’s. BTW, great family, great role models.
Used to work at Blue Beacon when I was back in High school, I bet you anything both bays were probably wanting your rig in their bay. Haha for the simple fact that it was easy washes then washing an 18 wheeler and it would give the guys a break. Happy to see people still use Blue Beacon even as simply to wash campers! Thanks for the video and reminding me of the good old days from High school!
What a fun video for the week! Looks like the reunion was a blast! Always great to reconnect with family. My cousin came to my house with his rig and it was nice not having to move any of our 6 boys to make room for them to sleep, they just went out to their rig. lol So I really love that you have your own "stuff" around you in your own "home" when you have a rig. Great video! Yes, truckers, weigh scales, etc....have their own language! Hugs, Brenda
I love the comment about the driveways and how much your kids love you. Our two daughters have just both just bought first homes - neither of them have drives and we have a motorhome! Hope you have better luck! 👍💙
RVs are great for visiting family. We get to see our grown kids more now that we have a RV and have reconnected with family members across the country.
Thank you for including your son Caleb in this video. His humor helped me smile again. I have a son but he has had issues after he got out of the Navy and it's just nice to see someone else's son be a happy person! What a nice family reunion.
Great episode!! One of the things I love most about RVing is that so much of my extended family also have RVs, each time we go out it's like having mini-reunions!
We have Class A Holiday Rambler with Jeep JK toad. Use Blue Beacon across country . They are Great. Never had bad experience and Truckers have always been respectful of our space. You will learn the lingo the more times you use them. My wife thinks it is a hoot every time we get a wash. Enjoys seeing some of the more custom rigs .We also enjoy your channel.
There's a share organic farm that I used to volunteer at called the Mustard Seed farm near Ames Iowa. I know they've had people come and camp over night and help out at the farm. There's no water or electric hook ups though and bathrooms provided either, but for volunteering you get to have a box of what ever is harvested that day.
Great video. Loved the part about when your kids buy houses and the angle of their driveways. Both of my grand parents had motorhomes and traveled all over. When we built our first house I made sure the driveway was long enough to fit their rigs. I was obviously their favorite grandchild. 😄😃😀
Reagan Library is a must see! We happened to go around Christmas time; along with all the Reagan memorabilia, there were Christmas trees decorated to represent Christmases at the White House through the years, & a Titanic exhibit. An Air Force One, helicopter, & limousine used by Reagan was inside. I highly recommend going.
You have came over to our neck of the woods were right by Memphis. I'm from California when I first moved here I couldn't understand anyone. I couldn't even hardly order something through a drive-thru. People have a different language here. Me and my husband laughed when when you were talking about the Rain X. They cut off words here. When I first moved here I could listen to people have a conversation and not know anything that they were saying.
Growing up, we met up at Kerr Lake in NC and had a HUGE family reunion. Everyone had an RV or had someone they could camp with. We took up an entire area of the campground. Now my mom's side of the family has taken up doing this in North Little Rock area
We did Little Rock 2 years ago. Love Riverside Park and Little Rock as a whole. So much to do between the Clinton Library, Heifer International, Riverside Market and Central High School just to name a few.
Beautiful family--God bless! As for Blue Beacon, fast, easy place to get rig washed (only the sides...they don't do roofs). BUT...before driving off, do a walk around the rig. Last time I took my RV to them, they nocked off a marker light's lensecap. They must have noticed it, but kept quiet. I didn't notice till I was 30 mi down the road.
What a wonderful, heart warming video. It was like the 21st century Waltons! I love family stuff like this. Now you have me thinking about the possibilities of my own family gathering! Thanks so much for sharing. You guys are great. Safe travels. bg
Blue Beacon is awesome and priced right! Only issue we had was their power washers are extremely strong so it took off some of our Tiffin lettering. Still go back and just tell them to be careful. No issues since.
Thank you for sharing your family and the great tips for bringing all the family members together... successfully. I do enjoy getting to know you all when your just hanging out. It don’t always have to be go go go. You guys always leave me with wanting more more more!😁
Wish I would have followed you sooner. When you stayed in Little Rock, only about 10 minutes from our home. You missed the flooding though. The river RV park you stayed was 4-5 feet under water.
FYI, KYD: Blue Beacon also provides an "Undercarriage Rinse" in certain locations. It's for getting rid of the road salt from under [really?] the rig if you're traveling in the Northern climes in winter. Will help save you über-headaches by alleviating any rust problems. ;)
Just a couple of cautions when using Blue Beacon or any other "high pressure" wash systems: Make sure all of your vents are closed. This includes putting some sort of tape over your stove vent, refridge vent, heater, vent, and hotwater heater vent. Tape all the drains on all of your windows. Cover up your generator vent if you have one. I use a piece of reflectix on the inside vent covering the generator. Do not use your generator or appliances for a few hours after the wash, as water can get into the electronics. That's how I ruined my generator. I had to get a new circuit board because it shorted out as I tried to fire it up right after having Blue Beacon wash my rig. Again they do a good job but it is not a hand wash.
Very Timely, why you ask? This is what we are doing for vacation. We're headed to our Son and wife's in the Chicago Area then down to our Daughters in Makanda, Illinois and I'll get to spend a bunch of with my Dad while there. We're very happy to have the "new" Tow with the Expedition and especially home no.2 instead of hotels some ups and downs overall happy with the Trailer. Gotta take it to the Dealer today to get a couple things taken care of then the fun counts down to my Birthday weeks trip. Two weeks of fun in Illinois, Tennessee, and Missouri. We can't wait to hit the road. No matter what, we have each other and family and our little home. It's going to be Epic! Great episode.
We love Blue Beacon, only way to wash the RV. We've also thoroughly enjoyed our Harvest Host membership. We've mostly focused on wineries so far. Thank you for another great video!
When I was driving a rig I was at Blue Beacon's every couple of weeks to keep the truck on point. Doing 2500-3000 miles a week in all weather conditions builds up a lot of grime lol. Another great video Marc and Trish can't wait till next week.
I’m sorry you went there, they use acid (601 aluminum brightner) to clean it. You can tell them no acid, but there is still some in there lines when they wash it. It’s designed for large trucks. Your wax is gone. It may look clean but it will take a toll on your finish. It’s cheap for a reason. Love you channel. Just went to Yogi Bear, Tabor City, NC.
Great video! Our shirts came in Saturday! Know what you mean about family reunions! The wife and I are working on her family’s 100th reunion,, and the planning and coordination is mammoth to say the least. Travel safely and keep the videos coming.
Hey great truck wash. What a good idea, fast, well done and good price. Sorry you didn't get to see all you wanted in city. But plan B always works. LOL Calab was making hand gestures in back seat as you were talking. Made me LOL - so cute. You have such a comical family. Such great sense of humor - and adventure. Will take you far in life. LOL. Good tips for camping in person's yard. Are you taking pictures with your cell phone or using another type of camera. Your pictures always turn out so clear and in focus. Do you use the shower and bathroom in your RV while staying at families - or use their bathroom? Hey great idea about how to conduct a family reunion. Love the idea about the pictures on the table. I thought Marc's family was from Lake Tahoe area? I saw an episode where you went back for vacation and loved it. I have visited that area also - but not exact areas as you filmed. Happy Mother's Day - Trish Oh figs and Goat cheese sounds great. Looks like you had a great Mother's Day - WAY to celebrate guys. Keep up the great video's.
I did a Camp Host job and we had empty spaces, but we were full. Some times people pay/reserve a space for longer periods to get a cheaper rate, but they leave earlier. Also some people go to do something else for a few nights and come back to the spot they are paying for. The Campground can’t put someone else in those spots not knowing if the people paying for the spot might come back.
It’s not a big deal for you to go through a truck wash with Grand Ginger . . . But if we were to pull into that truck wash with our tow vehicle and Casita travel trailer, they would be LAUGHING so hard! :D. We’d get lost in there!! Looking at your route it looks like you took one of our favorite roads through the upper part of Alabama - highway 72! It’s a great highway. We’ve wanted to see the Clinton Library as well but have never had time to do it. Maybe next time. With regard to pads for your jacks, we have some that our son cut out of a horse mat. They work really well and are a bit larger than the yellow blocks.
FYI...if you are driving through Shreveport there is a Blue Beacon right off I-20 at the Burt Kouns Industrial Loop exit..I think it’s exit #8. 😁👍🏼 Enjoy watching y’all. We are seriously thinking about selling our house & buying a 5th wheel toy hauler & truck. My husband works construction & moves around a lot. These hotels (even the extended stay type) are more than our house note.🙄😳 We are raising 2 of our granddaughters full time also & just want to stay together. Thanks for sharing!
Ya'll need to stop into Fredericksburg, Texas next time you visit Trish's family in Dripping Springs. Announce it ahead of time as we would love to meet your family.
Very cool video. I used to live in AR when I was young. Been or lived in all the places shown here. Loved all your family's homes but I think I liked the Harley best. No, the house with the wide front porch and the chandelier was awesome!
Push the button on the cat scale, when they ask for truck number tell them it's an rv. PULL OFF THE SCALE AND PARK, DO NOT BLOCK THOSE OF US WHO ARE OUT THERE TO MAKE A PAYCHECK! Go in, give them $11.50. Then leave.
@@anthonylevitan1392 Just completed the first weigh today - surprisingly simple (especially with the app) - only remaining question: if you want to know your weight distribution (i.e. left to right tires) to figure out if you're significantly overloaded on one side, can you do this on a standard CAT (perhaps by pulling one side of TV and trailer on the scale and the other on the non-plate curb) or does this require a different type of weighing mechanism? - Having some irregular tire wear issues and trying to determine weight distribution vs. axel damage.
@@CAIRNTraveler the CAT scales are designed to weigh the entire axle on semi's, not left vs right side. Hopefully someone will be able to point you to a scale you can use for your situation.
Nixon library in Boston? I'm from the home town of the "Nixon Library" in Yorba Linda, CA but I have never heard of the Nixon in Boston. Hehe. Have fun friends!
Fayetteville Arkansas is the best place to explore. So many off the wall places to eat and visit. The Crystal Bridges Museum is absolutely incredible and I'm not even a museum guy.
Thanks for the tip, I will use blue beacon in the future for a splash and dash which is usually all you need and that's a good price, to be fair though that is not a "wax". Example, I was in a park in Yuma last year, for $99 I got a hand wash which included the roof on the class a 40 foot and a hand wax with maguires premium wax for $99. thanks for the great video
My wife and are have been catching up so we are a little behind on our watching. Just wanted to say this video brought back memories as I grew up around Arkadelphia. Went to college there at OBU.
There is a Blue Beacon in Lebec, CA on I-5 right before the Grapevine and that huge mountain into L.A. Lebec, besides being a big truckers stop area, has just gotten an Outlets Stories area and several more motels. So they have become a major stop on the way to L.A. or a destination for bargain shoppers.
I've never washed my trailer myself.. There are 2 blue beacons here in Amarillo. It's right on I-40, so sometimes there is a line, but they get them done pretty quick!!! Only way to go!!!
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it.... I had the feeling ya'll were gonna come to Arkansas while we were on vacation, our first full week vacation in our new 37' Mallard bumper pull, it looks similar to the Grand Ginger. We were on vacation at Lake Ouachita State Park (Hot Springs, AR), Crater of Diamonds State Park (Murfreesboro, AR), and Corp of Engineers Maumelle Park in (Little Rock, AR). If that's actually when ya'll recorded this episode, last week. We had to be close by at some point, dad gum I knew we would miss you! Oh well, my fault for not being an Insider!!
Fig and goat cheese flat bread with drizzled balsamic reduction is the best. We love Blue Beacon, Probably go there 2-3 times per year. Thanks for sharing your family with us.
hey guys. been watching you guys for a bit and you've helped out quite a bit. however, i am new to this world got our first trailer ever. I seen your newbie things to do and dont, not sure if maybe I missed one but I thought I'd share what I learnt today first thing in the morning. This morning I had to empty our tanks as they were full. Thinking nothing of this I get my hose ready crawl under my slide out cause cause that's where the valves are. And thinking cause law here would be black tanks are closed when traveling and we had our trailer delivered to our lot, I pop off the cap to the drain loan behold the black tank was wide open.... good morning Kyle. moral of my story always double check that those valves are closed before that cap comes off. have a good one
We spent the last half of 2018 exploring Arkansas full time RVing. The Ozarks are one of my favorite destinations in the USA! Arkansas is beautiful and the culture is rich.
Encourage Richie and Chris to video document their trip on RUclips! It would be awesome change of pace to see a motorcycle long distance road trip. I am betting the KYD community would love to follow along. And with your experience and guidance on making awesome videos, I'm sure it would be a hit! Just a thought.
SWEET! I used to ride but never on a long road trip. Did one with my dad way back when I was a kid and it would be a joy to relive that through your videos. Looking forward to it! And have a safe adventure, Godspeed to you and Chris.
We have a voltage V3200 which Is the same design and sold our Dodge 1 ton single rear wheel because it was not enough truck and on many occasions the tail would wag the dog. We have since upgraded to an F450 platinum and have never regretted the upgrade. To keep the wife happy you should make the same upgrade. Towing with the F450 is no different than just driving the truck around it’s like the RV isn’t even back there. Glad you’re back in America.
Wanted to check out Blue Beacon b4 going there. We have 1 in NJ not too far from where our trailer is stored. Ours says open 24 hrs/7days. We r taking the trailer for it's bath on Sunday. She's dirty.
Agree with Trish on the kids driveways, two of ours live in HOA so no campers. We have hopes on the third one who just bought a new house, looks promising if the drive is level. I kept telling them we would visit more if you had a mooch docking spot for us....
I am a truck driver and watched this episode just to see your experience at the Blue Beacon. Liked your comment about truck stops not being a big deal, because they're really not. Glad to see a RV channel that does not show or imply truck stops (and truckers) are scary and need to be avoided at all costs.
I did the same thing for the same reasons!
"Streakin' beacon " can be a hit or miss experience
Thanks for sharing your family! One of your best episodes! Travel is great but the connections are priceless.
I had a lot of fun watching this video. My second RV trip went to Tennessee then down to Marcella AR north of where you are at. Fun to find out Rich is headed up here. Have him stop by and say hi. We don't have blue berries, but we do have huckleberries :-)
Just getting into this Vlog thing stay tuned Ill be doing something soon
You have a very lovely family. Your aunt has a beautiful home and I can see her talent everywhere. ;) peace
A nice dense material for pads for tires and jacks are the rubber horse stall mats. They are 3/4” thick and virtually indestructible. Pretty easily cut to size with a shop knife. Another advantage is they don’t easily slide on gravel or concrete like the plastic ones do
All I can say is Caleb has a future in media. That kid is funny! Love you guys, safe travels!
I love the time lapse shot of the city lights right by the water. Beautiful!
Took your family videos to heart and stopped to see my aunt, the hugs were neck breaking and the food ,,,,,was soooo good, loved this video. Parked our tiny trailer in the Drive way its the best way to visit family truly is..... and the Hugs...and then more hugs..

We have laughed so hard at Marc saying "right on" when entering the car wash.
We caught that too. lol
You two are so fun to watch :)
Totally agree about visiting family in RV - no putting out, have all your own stuff, get away whenever you need some space, lol!

We have a 40’ Class A and we use Blue Beacon all the time. They do a great job
We love Blue Beacon RV wash. Discovered it last year and have one within e half hour of us. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your family with us
Love living the life through you and the music was great!
Great to see your extended family, it's just like the rest of us. Fun, unique, interesting, loving.
Keep the rubber on the road.
From Blue Beacon to Blue Fig. Another fun episode. Thank you for sharing.
I'm glad to see you guys going to the blue beacon. As a trucker, I have used them several times. They do a good job.
What a fun video for the week! Looks like the reunion was a blast! Always great to reconnect with family. "Raineh on both?" I didn't get the axle part. Completely clueless. What a funny situation that I know the feeling. Fun video.

I agree with Jay Burris, I love Sundays and winding down on your adventures.
Just want to say how happy we are to be a part of your "traveling family". The information you share is very helpful. You all are wonderful!
I love your son's mocking hand gestures at about 10 minutes in!

Fantastic channel I have learned so much from watching and learning it’s helped me in making my new channel the best I can
Thank you guys keep it up
Mark if you don’t need the extra bathroom the 349 is also a very good floor plan, nice big garage hope your next rig is a momentum! Great vid o.

Interesting. It looked like the right PSI to me. I wonder if that is a setting - something to ask the guy next time.

They work really well and are a bit larger than the yellow blocks.
Lol. I love it.
Looked like a great family get together. Glad y’all got to visit Arkansas
I love Arkadelphia, I went to college at Ouachita and my whole family still goes back for homecoming every year
FYI...if you are driving through Shreveport there is a Blue Beacon right off I-20 at the Burt Kouns Industrial Loop exit..I think it’s exit #8.
Idea for video... truck stop lingo, cat scale speak, truck wash verbiage. 👍
Agree, was just going to say the same thing - how to use the CAT scales
Yaaasss! 🙌
My brother and SIL live in Dripping Springs! Great that you have family there, too!
Nixon library in Boston? I'm from the home town of the "Nixon Library" in Yorba Linda, CA but I have never heard of the Nixon in Boston. Hehe. Have fun friends!
Yes, it was JFK in Boston. Can't keep it all straight! We were 100% on missing it though ;)
Fayetteville Arkansas is the best place to explore. So many off the wall places to eat and visit. The Crystal Bridges Museum is absolutely incredible and I'm not even a museum guy.
Thanks for helping us keep our own daydream alive!
We are planning to spend most of Sept in Utah for the very first time.

Oh my goodness! That whole dance at the RV Parks cracks us up. Our experience as well. We laugh it off, too.
Great times with family and friends is always the best !! Loved it !!
My wife and are have been catching up so we are a little behind on our watching. Just wanted to say this video brought back memories as I grew up around Arkadelphia. Went to college there at OBU.
Love your aunts house but those flowers she had everywhere in the house were amazing!
Great video! Thanks for sharing all your adventures
If you get to Abilene KS stop by the Eisenhower library, plenty of parking and interesting place.
Hi guys! Thanks for sharing your family reunion & all the great ideas. Hope you had a wonderful time. Safe travels 😊🇺🇸
@13:14 when you paused Marc, I was waiting for an explanation of something completely different than what you said. Haha!
It’s nice that you’re family is doing this. Nice video
Good blessings to you all.
The pictures on the table are almost as beautiful as that Big Green Egg in the backyard at dinner time.
hey guys. been watching you guys for a bit and you've helped out quite a bit. however, i am new to this world got our first trailer ever.
We got out shirts today!!! Yay!!!
I plan on it. its a new learning curve. Stay tuned I'll be doing something real soon
Thanks
SWEET! I used to ride but never on a long road trip. Did one with my dad way back when I was a kid and it would be a joy to relive that through your videos. Looking forward to it! And have a safe adventure, Godspeed to you and Chris.
@@emersonkk33 Very cool Thanks for the encouragement.
Great tip about Blue Beacon Thx for sharing. Safe travels
Shout out to Simi Valley and the Reagan Library! My high school prom was hosted under Air Force One where my GF now Fiance.
Great episode enjoyed a little background on the family
@18:50..... It's called a "Crawfish Boil"...
