- oh, man. Take classical music like the Beethoven Moonlight Sonata and mix the incredibly soundtrack of Punishing: Gray Raven and inject that into my body because it is so rare to see it done and done exceptionally well. This is seriously good stuff. Classical music meets contemporary beat structures, rhythms, and melodies and yes yes yes. I want.

what I read, saw and felt in chapter 17 of PGR will be something that I will remember for a very long time, It was peak story telling, I think that never another gacha has made me feel the despair, the loneliness, the pain of an apocalypse, of the loss of life and humanity such as the part one of the chapter, one knife and then other, feeling how the survivors fell deeper and deeper, seeing people, survivors die in the most horrible ways trying to show that their life meant something.
And within all that pain, despair, and hopelessness was Liv, carrying the torch of hope, an inextinguishable flame that only grew in power when it seemed to falter, fueled by boundless love and empathy, and at the same time a hatred for all the pain caused by the punishing virus.
This song shows Liv's pain and at the same time her horrible failure to never think about herself, from her point of view all life and existence is more beautiful and precious than anything she could show and therefore everything is worth more than her , without knowing that she is (especially in this chapter) the greatest force of humanity.
Liv loves life itself, she adores everything around her as if it is something beautiful that must be protected at all costs. and this gives strength to those around her, seeing this fragile girl run across the battlefield to save one more life causes an inextinguishable fire to those around her, shows the beauty of life and humanity It makes us forget how horrible we can be, because we can also be like her, and how beautiful can that be? Isn't it worth fighting for at least one person like that?
I still can't believe that Asslam is no more by the end of the chapter. It was already a mess by the end of Eternal Engine.

Wind's Sight, Liv song does perfectly explain the feeling chapter 17 represents, sacrifice, self worth and responsibility. If you listen the CN version, you hear her emotions.

My favorite is the japanese acoustic version of Wind's Sight. It played while I'm reading one of the most emotional part of the chapter, and it's just so raw and hits you in a different level because you're currently immersed to the context of story. Do note that Liv's VA in japanese sang this herself, and listening could spoil the vibe and story atmosphere at that very specific part of the story.

Your ability to able to discover a character's personality and their trials through music shall never stop to amaze me, man. You deserve to feel the story at your own pace and know the characters's developments.
I like to think that violin is what represent Liv the most through this song. Her purity and kindness gives you this need to protect her, but in this theme, the role reverse and let said that never understimate an healer.

Oh I love Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. And this reminds me, I've always thought sonata form as perfect for multi-phase boss battles. Not just because of its multiple movements, but also because of the storytelling format and how the different movements tell that story and then conclude it. Perfect for a dramatic boss battle in a story-based game. I'm definitely implementing this idea in my games.

PGR rebranding Beethoven as Beathoven
Liv is my favorite character of PGR, and for good reason. It's nice how I liked her for all the hints the game gave about her much prior to the current chapter (which is currently the peak writing of the series on Global) and your on-point observations are further proof of that. Subcontext, visuals and music go a long way telling a story and Liv's is a most bittersweetly beautiful one indeed. I'm so happy you reacted to this!! This song means a lot to me and I loved being brought attention to the fact it repurposed Moonlight Sonata, too!! I hope you are enjoying PGR and get to the chapter in question, you are sure to have a wonderful rollercoaster of feelings :')
I wont spoil anything but hot dang, if you havent played PGR, play it for the story that this song is part of. It's an absolute masterpiece, just like the song xD

Lore accurate interpretation here. But Empyrea is anything but a healer. Her flame burn anything it touch to arsh. Like a cleansing flame that melt away cold darkness.
I haven't played Liv's chapter yet too lol. I'm up to the Fake Asenscion chapter and I'm just avoiding spoilers at the moment. So I ignore every new videos and this is my first time hearing this. I just thought the medical beeping is a really cool touch since Liv is a healer. The music also sounds religious to me too for some reason. Great reaction Marco! Always enjoy your analysis of each musical piece.
Oh, boy. You're in for a ride on this one. Fake Ascension is a great precedent for this chapter. There are a lot of callbacks to that chapter in The Surviving Lucem. That being said, prepare yourself. From Fake Ascension on out, it will be a vastly different PGR experience

This was great! I can't wait until you really get into the game, I will say the beginning like most games is a bit slow but once it starts getting into character backgrounds (personally I think the most interesting part of the game's writing) is when the game starts to really shine. Liv was not really my favorite character when I first started playing the game but she really grew on me every chapter she becomes more and more of a character and not just your supporting cast member. Liv is an angel, not only a field medic but is the team's morale support, she puts others before herself, and is always thoughtful and ever caring even to strangers. Liv is what I would hope for people to be in a world where things are scary and we could lose ourselves to despair.
This chapter is the best so far from the story, characters, music, and action. If any of you haven't played PGR you should.

Damn this was a great pick! If you like this merging of classical and modern, I highly recommend you look at Fate: Grand Order's Dies Irae rendition. Both Mozart and Salieri held importance to the story, and the song lies at the intersection between the two.
