About SWITCHED AT BIRTH:
Switched at Birth,tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother while Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. I though she was deaf in real life
She is. But she reacted to the car (with the help of the hearing cast/crew or her hearing aids or something), so she made a joke saying "oh, I'm supposed to be deaf."
No she is not deaf in real life she is hard of hearing
The Sister Channel She really is deaf. In her book I'll Scream Later, it says one ear was totally deaf and the other was 90% deaf. She had hearing aids as a child, but back then hearing aids werent that helpful, so she wasnt able to hear. Once her hearing aid was ringing and she couldnt hear it. Her brother had to tell her it was. I'm not sure if she regained any hearing, although I highly doubt it. She is able to talk pretty clearly because she went through a lot of speech therapy.
These people do not know what they're talking about she is not deaf at all she's just a really good actress
Marlee Matlin is deaf in real life. It was so funny when she said "I'm supposed to be deaf."

The Back to the Future one was the funniest
I love these bloopers that make me hysterically laugh. AS I remember in acting years and performance. My casts and I often made mistakes, but we would just laughed and redo it again. It's not worth to feel stress and be just too perfect. It's okay to make mistake every once awhile and polished my acting skills improving.

No. It was behind her so she didn't see it. It was very loud and rumbled and that's why she noticed it.

They do that sometimes for budget reasons and because babies can't be used for too much time during the day because of child labor laws and such.
The lady that plays Emmits mom her name is Marlee she is Emmit is Travis is the guy that beat Emmit up can't remember his name but he also is and Katie Leclerc she plays Daphne she has hearing loss and does use ASL
Katie(Daphne) has Meniere's Disease which affects her hearing and could make her lose all of it.
I think the reason, that marlee reacted to the motorcycle in the end, was, that she might felt something, like an vibration, because it was a really deep sound, and she saw the reactions fom staff maybe, so she turned around and saw it and made the joke with "I'm suposed to be deaf."
well she is! she had hearing aids as a kid, but isn't wearing them anymore, because, they are no help for her...
to all the other actors, who are playing a deaf person. they are also deaf. most hearing actors in this show are fluent in asl, too. the creators made it like this. they didn't want to make an show where aren't deaf actors, or actors without any asl-experiences, except the main characters, cause, they should learn it during the show, to show a development in the character.
so yes.. you can be really sure, that they are deaf or really fluent in private too.. and I think, that's just amazing and sooo mindblowing as well.. I love this show...
