I'm a simple man. I see a new Mark Baxter video drop and I click on it.
Hahaha - I wish everyone was simple like you!
Thanks again Mark. Key takeaway point - minimum vocal effort for maximum gain.
Exactly!
Thanks Mark - this is brilliant. I put this one in my gig bag!
Glad to be traveling with you!
so glad to see another video Mark. Thank you my friend!
Hope you're doing well, Kevin!
Amazing and very, very helpful. A lot of good singing involves the psyche as well as the preparation. Thank you for opening that door to better understand the combination.
I hope it helps!
what for a great lesson! thanks, man!🎤🎤🎵🎵☮☮

Great stuff as always Mark! I still have your book from 30 years ago and refer to it often . It has always been my singing bible.
Glad to help out, Travis!
Thanks for a good vocal warm up techniques before going on live singing performance.
You're welcome!
Excellent video, Mark! Thank you how you focus on certain areas to concentrate where the weaknesses show. I’ve been singing on my church’s praise and worship team now for the past year. Sometimes I over warm up in general, instead just on specific needed areas, and I don’t want to stress my voice so that when I’m singing I can finesse things properly. Excellent excellent video and have added it to my vocal warm-ups 🤩
Glad to help!
You always seem to make the right video I need at the right time! (btw, I like the new production values and graphics).
Glad to help out, Jack!
Amazing insights, as always! Your aptitude for describing these 'invisible' behaviours is just incredible. Love it, Mark!
I hope it helps!
This is absolutely GOLD today thank you Mark. Off I go to a 4 hour gig
Easy does it, mate!
Thank you Mark...I warm up with you often. 😊

I'm an interpreter, not a singer. I start the day with Mark's voice warm ups. Thanks, Mark! PS: I also use a humidifier all night and salt water gargles.
Great routines = great results! Glad to start the day with you.
Love the thumbnail, and of course the precious help and advices.

Very helpful right now Mark. I’ve been singing with Bronchitis. No fun! Had to cancel a couple , but I’m plowing through now. Warm ups are so essential, and this one comes at the right time. And…. I have already used all of your techniques for singing with a cold. Thanks for the world class information. Much appreciated.
Hope you're feeling better soon, Matthew!

Thanks Mark , another excellent and informative insight , thanks , hope you’re doin ok 👍🏻
All good with me! Hope the same for you.
Hi Mark. I really love your lessons. You have helped me improve my tone, range and accuracy and I'm starting to lose the tension.
May I request that you tell us what pitch you're starting and finishing on in the videos please.
Beginning on A5 and slid down to D4 (but that's just me). Start on the highest comfortable pitch you have at that moment. I ended on G4 working down chromatically. .
Thanks! It's so helpful to be able to check my range. I could use an app - but then I'd have to turn the video off 😂
I have a tour coming up, 2 hour sets each night with heavy choreography. How long should I warm up, and how long before the show should I start my warm up? Thanks!
I would start "checking in" with my voice two hours after waking up. Just do very light sirens and lip trills. If they feel as expected, I would continue to check in every two hours with light stuff. Then start to ask a little more from the voice whenever you start warming up your body for the choreography. It's all about making sure you leave enough time IF you're in bad condition.

@@voicelessondotcom I/ We have learned so much from you, and I think I've improved since following your lessons. 🙂
I ve never seen it said anywhere what is a reasonable gap between warm up and singing. i m only a karioke singer and a singer's turn may come anytime and maybe over an hour and a half after having sat as audience and so whats the way to approach it.
The way I approach that situation is to sing (lightly) with the performances before you're called. That way to stay ready. There's no set time between warming up and performing that works for everyone.
@@voicelessondotcom . Thanks Mark for your advice. Its good to be aware of that. I do bit of that while waiting amongst the audience waiting to be called to sing and your advice is very appreciated.
@@hera-nf8mz Glad to help!
Sir I am your subscriber from India. After long time I am seeing your video. Very useful video for all who suffers with voice problems. Please make a video how to completely reduce neck muscles tightness and how to get natural voice. Please suggest neck exercises also. Thank you sir.

@@voicelessondotcomthank you sir for your immediate response. Please let me know how many times I shall practice this exercise and also let me know is there any exercises in the sitting position and vocal cord strengthen exercises. I am working woman. Totally computer work.

How does putting your hands on your face help? I love this video!
@@Musicpriestess My first suggestion is to try it! Hopefully, you'll feel and hear a difference. We often "load up" when approaching a big belty sound and sing past our face. Placing the hands there defines the boundaries of our instrument and provides a more accurate feedback loop. That, in turn, triggers the brain to dial up a more proportionate behavior. We end up singing louder and fuller while staying in a balanced behavior. Win/Win/Win!
Wow! You can talk! LOL!
Hahahaha!
Is falsetto head voice?
Not technically - but the difference doesn't matter when singing. What matters is that you're creating the sounds you want.
But what if it's early in the morning 😅
Think of it as going to a photo shoot early in the morning. How long would it take for your face to not be puffy? Same with your voice. Make sure you're up early enough to let things settle in.
🙅 from the devil.
