I have seen it double this size if not triple and still tons of surfers in the water. I love the place but its such a zoo. Australia has loads of really good surfers so size doesn't tend to thin the crowds. But Go to Raglan NZ and when it gets big and perfect you only get a handful of guys out and long perfect lefts.
This is a very late reply, sorry. You should see Noosa now! Just a hint of a wave and the place is crowded!! And if you can ...eventually ...catch a wave, its dodgems
bro i surfed granite ba yesterday it was pumping im only 11 and pepole were saing i was a ledgend and if u have surfed nosa u will kw how good some pepole are there
I think the same, but then I am only an average surfer. I have to look at the face of the wave first to call it for half. Found an interesting site that gives an explanation on the thinking behind this subject. www.surfertoday.com/surfing/how-to-measure-wave-height-in-surfing
I reckon Down at double island point would be pumping then
without a doubt. I wonder what the crowds were like?

there are some great young surfers in Noosa
I've been to Hawaii surfing and its funny how they call it half the size until it is big then they call it 20 foot instead of 10.😊
