How to make solid oak wood Plant Stands for Houseplants: Dec 2020

  • Hi everyone,
My name is Tracy and I bake, cook & garden in Toronto, Canada.
You are watching my latest video on Making Plant Stands for my houseplants filmed in December 2020. I have many houseplants and I don't like their pots to "wet" the wood floors and so my pet-peeve is to have "most" of them on stands (except on tiled areas). This way the water doesn't damage the wood floors.
Thank you so kindly for taking some of your precious time to watch my video. Happy holidays to everyone! ❤️ 🙏
ps. This was a very long video and so I do apologize. 😁

Girl, they look good! Great job hubby!!! Those stands are $100+USD on at West Elm; so you got a "twofer"....made your wife happy and saved yourself a TON of money. Now I'm off to have a talk with my dear beloved 😂. Congratulations Tracy.

Thank you Gina! WestElm wood plant stands price in Canada starts at $200+ so I think we saved $$$ by making them at home. I have 16 of them now! I hope you get some made by your beloved too! ❤️

Thanks to yoir husband for showing us the construction of these beautiful plant stands. I think I would’ve just loved it without the staining but both ways are beautiful! I must admit I got nervous when you were asking him questions when he was cutting the wood as I would need my full attention!

I was nervous watching him too Eileen! 😁 I should have kept quiet! 😀 The table saw part was making my hands sweat too! Definitely going to remind myself to keep quiet next time...thank you for watching Eileen! Happy holidays!

Very smart to use the blue tape to hold the four pieces together. Definitely makes it easier and a time saver.

It’s so cool that your husband have the tools and can make you the plant stands, Tracy. He reminds me of my Dad as my Dad loves creating things by himself as well and have all the tools for carpentry. The end products are so beautiful and the arrangement of the plants and the plants themselves are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this video.🤗❤️🌹

I have a plant stand that is similar, it looks really nice. wrapping them in a group like that is a smart idea, I need to get better with doing woodworking. Wow, the wood fits perfectly together. He's got a good setup for woodworking. It's like he is doing the job that Ikea does for you. I want to really learn how to build things like this.

I think a handsaw may not make a nice of a cut because the wood we use is solid oak 2x2”. Hope you can try it with a smaller size?
Ps. I’m not with this stuff. 😊
