I’ve admired Ben Whishaw for maybe 15 years & it’s lovely to see him become more comfortable & confident in interviews. I remember when he gently came out in ‘Out’ magazine & started taking more overtly queer roles, & have loved seeing his career only go from strength to strength since.
Havent really listed to Whishaw talking in his regular voice before. I was trying to work out who his voice reminded me of, and then it struck me - Leon Vitali, Stanley Kubrick's factotum, in the documentary Filmworker. They even look somewhat similar - I can imagine Whishaw playing him in a film (which could be a really interesting film)...
