Sid, surely on the test in your video showing a cut half between 2 nails on what looks like a plastic table. The cut half should have banged through without any problem whatsoever no matter what sensitivity setting, since there isn’t any mineralisation present to represent hot ground and the two nails are quite miniscule? I’m asking this question, because I am seriously thinking about getting a Manticore, but don’t understand how the sensitivity could affect the recovery speed and discrimination like its demonstrated in your video?
Masking, the manti on about 22-25 is similar to max sens on 800 or deus.. when you go above its a mega boost as such, its usable in some scenarios but if using too high in tricky soils or emi areas it will lose performance... but its good to have that extra power for when you can use it, I think the extra power will be key when using M8 coil
I think of it as saturation. I guess a bit like turning yr music speakers on loud and u miss the subtle instruments- possibly even getting feedback. In a VLF metal detector, sensitivity controls the strength of the electromagnetic field produced by the coil. When set to very high sensitivity, the detector becomes more responsive to small changes in the magnetic field caused by nearby metal objects. However, this heightened sensitivity can also lead to "overloading" when the detector is in close proximity to a large or highly conductive metal object like an iron nail. The strong signal from the nearby metal can saturate the detector's circuitry, making it less capable of distinguishing smaller targets like coins. Lowering the sensitivity reduces the risk of saturation, allowing the detector to effectively identify both large and small metal objects in its vicinity. Bumf over.. 😭👍
Sid these machines are no deeper than the 800 just better at picking up small targets I've learnt that with the 800 slow I did everything that sounds like a target
No mate, I was just trying so other settings that someone uses with a higher sens but it still struggled.. the manticore runs sweeter when sens is set to suit the ground..
@stephenaldred2317 that's where the M8 comes in. I'm thinking I'll be able to use more sens so still get great depth but also mega separation.. should be king on tricky roman sites etc
@@englandshistory yes I think so too, a little bit of a trade off in ground coverage, however if you’ve got a hot spot or heavily iron infested area, it’ll be the perfect tool 👍
@stephenaldred2317 yes I don't think I'd use on unknown ground as too little coverage but it's small enough to carry around and as soon as a hot spots found, get the scapal out and go in with precision
PS: i heared about this by using older detektors, that the Users had No Chance in Iron in High Sens so they put the Sens down near Zero and worked only whit the disc.
Hi mate, have you changed your settings since the last settings video you did a couple of months ago? first video iron still clips next to a cut half. This video same settings zero iron noise perfect sound no clipping
Lolol. He may be able to run his cranked right up and fair play if he likes it like that, but from everything if seen and tested etc I seem to find better overall results when the machine is setup and balanced correctly to conditions
Cuando te dedicas al mundo de la detección tienes que tener más de un detector, yo utilizo el Minelab manticore cuando el terreno está normal o poco mineralizado, en terrenos muy mineralizados el Minelab manticore no tiene profundidad, tienes que bajar la sensibilidad por lo que pierdes profundidad. Yo para terrenos muy mineralizados utilizo el Tarsacci MDT 8000 con una profundidad increíble, identifica tanto objetos pequeños como grandes y la mejor frecuencia 18 Khz, va genial. Y cuando voy a buscar pepitas pequeñas de oro utilizo el Minelab GPX 6000 con plato Coiltex 10x5, no existe ningún otro detector que sea capaz de identificar unas pepitas tan pequeñas, es excelente. El Minelab manticore es un gran detector y con el plato de M15 alcanza los 50 centímetros fácilmente y en condiciones óptimas puedes detectar con una sensibilidad de 35 y su profundidad es sorprendente. La solución es utilizar un detector de metales diferente según el sitio donde vayas a detectar.

There isn't leaps and bounds between the 800 and manti but manti will beat 800 in most scenarios

I always run sens as high as machine allows, as soon as it starts falsing I back it off one.. optimal then

I was just trying out someone's settings but they didn't seem to pop on the signals. I got mine just right to suit me...
Prob has everything to do with emi in location. Same with an air test when you lose it to emi.
Yeah if emi, minerals, iron contamination etc etc it will all have an effect so setting sensitivity to suit is key
