You can see the slow deterioration. You can see him hold back his frustration at early levels and barely even think about it, it it begins to chip at him until his mind breaks from sheer bad game design.
Love how ferociously stupid Arin is with this game, so many deaths are avoidable and that makes it so much funnier when he loses his shit 😂😂😂
I love the ones where it could've been avoided by him switching to Tails.
I mean, the game is also pure garbage, so that doesn't help.

They played this during one of the worst mental health stages in my entire life. It was kinda cathartic to see my favorite youtubers suffering along with me.
As someone who played this game as a kid, I can confirm this game had some BIG glitches sometimes. A lot of the stuff that happened to Arin happened to me too. The Egg Emperor is one of the childhood traumas of my youth.

I'm not going to blame arin 100 percent for most of the deaths because you can clearly see some of them happen completely by glitches. I think he probably would have an easy time if he'd played team sonic with the GameCube version first which was the one I managed to beat as a kid.
Sonic Heroes on Gamecube, as someone who beat the whole fucking thing one summer (except for Metal Sonic because trying to get the Chaos Emeralds is nonsense - why was that the way you unlock the true final boss?), was still awful. The controls are imprecise, the level design is sloppy, buggy or not it's just a tremendously unfun experience.

It's not his fault. Those railroads were programmed by a mentally ill monkey so whenever you jump to another rail it fails 90% of the time

Great compilation! You can hear Arin’s blood pressure rise as he plays this. I was never a Sonic fan as a kid and never played any of the games so its a lot of fun seeing the Grumps play through them so I don’t have to. Unlike some of the others, Sonic Heroes actually looks like it *could* be a lot of fun if it wasn’t so dang glitchy! There’s some cool level and enemy designs but wow, the way the controls are it looks utterly painful to play.
This game had some garbage controls...but it was playable. The way Arin moves in this game reminds of trying to move in a dream where it's all warped and slow

I knew I might mess up somewhere so I counted the deaths first, made the last segment next and then did all the deaths

The rage used to be funny, when Arin had to deal with unfairly glitchy and messy games. This is not one of those games and Arin bringing all of this misery on himself is cathartic.

I’m going to be honest, I feel like his rage is pretty fair considering this is exactly how my first play through of sonic heroes went. And you really gonna tell me that sonic heroes isn’t glitchy?
@@LaymoSupraymo Well, I can say mine didn't go like that, and that means the same thing. But there are so many moments where Arin's screwups are caused by him just not knowing what he's doing.
Him never understanding how the cannons work even though it teaches you level 1,
constantly failing the rising chemical part because he doesn't notice the game clearly telling him to destroy the enemies,
getting immediately spotted during the Team Chaotix stealth missions because he didn't read the objective,
dying on the bobsled part in Team Dark's Bullet Station because he ran over three tripwires in a row and then assuming the game glitched,
Spending an entire episode trying to kill a gold turtle in Team Dark's Frog Forest when he had already done it with no problem earlier.
So many deaths caused by button mashing that he just claims are "the game sending you flying" like forgetting to jump before doing the tornado move.
OK seriously Arin I will never understand How in the hell you are so bad at this game. Yeah, I get it. This game is a buggy mess, But you have to learn real quick that a lot of the automated stuff like falling onto a rail you have to take your finger off the fucking stick and not do anything. Matching doesn’t do anything you gotta use all of your characters! You can’t just button mash and expect things to go your way especially when you’re fighting a fucking egg hammer!
