Very cool you caught them, too! I'm always worried the trains I wanna catch make it here in daylight, because these trains often tie down in Greenville, but it worked perfectly this time.
This is clearly a different railfanning experience, although I have done this before (there is already a playlist on this channel dedicated to railfanning in Germany).
I just happened to go out to Folkston yesterday because this weekend was their annual Winterwatch. I had a great time. Wasn’t really a busy day although only got maybe 10-15 trains
1:11 i think this is the engine that caught this rail fan off guard in St Louis! it was sandwiched behind the 2nd engine! did not even notice the sante fe engine until too late! and St louis is the place to go for anything Sante related. from blue and yellow warbonnets giving it all they got pulling a stack train. to green and yellowish BN engines. then theres your BN green engines. that are hidden in the rail yard in downtown St Louis
I have a video from back in 2013 somewhere in storage of a train running on this same line back in 2013...I used to work at the mill across from the highway, that the bridge that crosses over this line goes to. Not sure of the number on the train but it was outrunning me in my car when I filmed it and led by NS 1115 (SD70ACe) and NS 7695 (ES40DC) trailing.
Lol, I can imagine. This line has 60 mph track speed in some sections and the speed limits on the parallel road are less. I rarely manage to chase a train on this line - or one has to travel long distances and use the interstate.
I failed to mention I also worked for City of Cornelia too after that Mill Job. Caught a ton of trains on that main line right thru the middle of the city. I used to get nervous when I would mow grass on the small slope across from the Depot when trains would come thru at track speed, and working in or around the trestle just down from the Depot. I don't know if it was just bad luck or what but I always wanted to see one of the special painted units or the Heritage units and never once saw one in the year that I worked for that city. By the way....great videos, I enjoy watching them especially when they jog my memory from that area.
@@mbmars01 Railroads be trolololing the railfans / foamers with HUs is my best guess lol. They probably laugh at how many railfans really foam out of over this stuff lol. 🤣 But it also makes modern railfanning somewhat interesting, otherwise it would be boring. Nice catches man! I caught all of those same trains on the Greenville Dist. as well on that day, except I'm in SC.

Nice catch of the SD70ACC leading. Excellent video.
Thank you.
Nice catch on the Lions Mane engine . Cool paint scheme . Good video overall .
Lots of action and variety . Just the way we like them . WELL DONE .
Thanks!
Excellent catches, especially the Lion's Mane... I Hardly ever see those.
... and this one was not even the reason I ventured out for, but it was nice to catch it, too!
What A Great Day To Start Of To Out To Folkston
Lol, yeah that was a bit crazy to railfan in South and North Georgia within 24 hours or so.
I'm really surprised they haven't freshened and reproduced the warbonnet scheme on a new heritage unit. That would look fantastic in fresh paint.
I have thought the same. It would be cool.
That's a first for me - seeing a Lion's Mane :) Very cool!
It was really great that these two units lead these successive trains. I actually went out for the Warbonnet, but #1800 was obviously a nice bonus.
great great shots as always, no more to add!! five star as usual , take care!!
Thanks very much, John!
Sweet catches!! So really cool lashups and consists
Thanks! True, those were cool lashups indeed.
The Lion's mane. That's a new one! Up north, we call it the "butter bonnet".
Lol, makes sense, too.
@@mbmars01 lol, yep!
Thank you, again!
You're welcome!
Great video as always.
Thanks very much!
Great job as always MB! Warbonnet was/is the best looking locomotive paint scheme ever. I agree with the others who said we need BNSF heritage units.
Thank, Rick! Yep, it's pretty.
Nice mixed consist, love to see the Warbonnet leading, great video!!!
Thanks very much!
Great catches, especially the Lions Mane!
Yep, I was glad it came this way on that day.
I can't wait for the German rail fanning video!!!

Nice! I got 265 and 153 just down the road from ya in Lula.
Nice. I contemplated catching them in Lula, but then decided to go to Alto.
Awesome video!
Thanks!

Nice! Well, I guess Saturdays may see less traffic. Not sure, though.
Intermodal moving alot now since the shipping port problem been particularly solved
I like train videos on RUclips 👍
Very nice!
Cool video, looking forward to your German video.
Thanks! Yea, that's gonna be great. I'm working on it. There will be a ton of trains in it :)

Weird, apperently NS didn't know BNSF locos had headlights? lol

Disneyland in anaheim, CA! will b The Ending! Point of The BNSF Santa Claus Express!
That's cool!
BNSF 712, unfortunately, is actually a "Fake Bonnet." The real Warbonnets have "Santa Fe" on the engine hood as well as the nose.
The description to the video should clarify things. There's no such thing like a "fakebonnet". This is a foamers' expression.
