"Behold there in the wood the fine madman! ...in the green solitude, he finds a dearer home than with men." -Ralph Waldo Emerson It never ceases to amaze me how Beethoven managed to perfectly embody the essence of an artistic movement that wouldn't start until decades later. Although this symphony may lack the emotional variety of the third or fifth, it contains a far deeper emotional expression than any comparable work. As a narrative, it could not possibly be more effective. This movement in its entirety is the epitome of flawless musical perfection.
This might be an odd compliment to pay someone, but I really like your comment. That opening quote is beautiful, and that second paragraph is just marvelous use of the English language...if only more youtube comments were that pleasant to read.
The first and second movements of this symphony are by far my favorites (next to Dvorak's 'New World Symphony, Movement II Largo) in all of classical music for the reasons you mentioned. It just transports you somewhere magical in nature and brings back memories and a strong sense of nostalgia for places you've been and places you wished you could be in nature.
Definitely my favourite of Beethoven's symphonies. Thank-you so much for uploading, it's a very good quality recording, and the pictures you used fit perfectly! The background information you gave about it was nice also. :)
At 5:20 a short musical incantation begins that resolves into a burst of joy after a few seconds. Then, for good measure, Beethoven repeats it less than a minute later.
This was my absolute favorite piece of Classical music for about two decades...I still love it, I just found a new number 1. But this is such a gorgeous work. I love playing it in the morning.
@@sensoukami may I offer this for your consideration "Tomaso Albinoni - Adagio in G Minor" my grandad favourite piece....he also loved the poem "IF" (Rudyard Kiplin) tune a bit sombre....but sometimes that can be a good thing.... hope all well with you and yours.
Who needs God when you have Beethoven's 6th? Sheer beauty. Also, nice pictures to complement what is an example of mankind at its best. Good luck, all!
Some Soylent Green, anyone? I has plenty. And it can come with nature and tulip field projections during the meal, if interested. Not your last meal, I promise ... . *crosses fingers behind back*
My favorite symphony, represents my love for nature too!
I have the first two movements of this symphony on an old vinyl record, you would not believe how beautiful it sounds
I feel you brother.
I know it's stunningly beautiful
10:40-10:50 tears of joy

Beautiful. The visuals get a slightly cheesy tone here and there, unfortunately, but other than that, it's a good way to spend 12 minutes.
With Beethoven, I close my eyes and my brain makes its own pictures.
I'm the only writh this comment in 2018
