Well, that doesn’t seem too tricky after all! Never really mastered this, will try it. But what if the object isn’t black to silhouette it or the new background is a colour…?

he gave you the map and if you have white birds for example all you have to do is the opposite in blending mode use screen or use blend if I think the idea about this video is how to combine tow tools to get a good result.

It won't matter what color the new background it. Sometimes you can use blending modes, other times you might need to use blend-if

Because this is wayyy faster and produces better edges. A contrasty background wouldn't work with this technique.
