Just a small correction. While we see Rob Christie play the piano, what we actually hear is someone quite different. Why they need to resort to that method of production, when we know Christie is quite talented enough to pull this off, is a mystery. It’s a common technique in the music business but people should be aware of it. All I Ask falls into the same category. AJ as usual delivers an electrifying performance that will stand the test of time.
As a National Treasure she has been asked the Crown Prince of Norway on more than one occasion to open an important international meeting for Norway.

In Norway, Angelina is known to support charities - not only those that help children, but also those that help protect the environment. So it was not surprising that Angelina was invited to attend a Norwegian government delegation visiting the state of California, led by Crown Prince Haakon and the Norwegian foreign minister. The purpose of this visit was to build cooperation between California and Norway on environmental and climate issues, so Angelina had decided to sing Michael's beautiful anthem with the deep message (We must take care of each other more. Love conquers all.) on this occasion.
The Foreign Minister introduced Angelina to the Californian delegation (and everyone else watching the live stream, the Norwegians knew her of course) just before, hence Angelina gave the short speech at the beginning.
Angelina obviously draws attention away from herself and more to the occasion. It is all about making the song shine and highlighting its importance. Because of this, Angelina wears a sandy brown dress and, along with her dark brown hair, that blends her into the darkened studio background and makes her almost invisible. Michael's performance is an anthem of sorts, with full support from a choir and multiple instruments. No sign of it here, no distractions, just a piano and Angelina's breathing, whispering voice that makes the experience so intense.
Read your comments. My wife was trying to get play the song you’ll never hear her fine. She really anxious for you to hear the song but she can’t do anymore. She passed away last Friday. I wish you would listen to one of them cause she was so excited about you going with them songs

Britt, I absolutely agree about how well she is being managed by her family and her team. She remains sophisticated, classy, poised -- and always seems completely comfortable with who she is. She's been a celebrity -- particularly in Norway -- since she was 7, and the way in which she and her managers have structured her career is to make sure she is happy and adjusted and doesn't flame out when she becomes, inevitably, a comet.

This is her very first performance after signing with Republic Records where Rob Christie is the director of the LA studio and AJ's A&R man, and again he is playing the piano. Rob is the former Supervising Producer and A&R at Capitol Records. Currently Founder/President of A&R for Robo Records (4), and Studio Director for Republic Records, both distributed by Universal Music Group. Rob has been involved in the creation of 47 albums of some of the biggest recording stars on the planet. From what I have learned about Rob Christie, this appears to be a situation where genius, Rob, is leading the genius of Angelina Jordan. You can be the greatest in the world, but if there is no one guiding you through the pitfalls of the industry, you will burn out to soon.

That is Rob Christie at the piano, Angelina's mentor at Republic. A comment I read said that someone had commented what a good mentor he was to Angelina and his response was that it was the other way around and that she was HIS mentor. He has a few Grammies under his belt and he was sincere and lovely when he was heard saying this. He does a lot of the piano playing for Angelina, and I am so very glad. Thought you'd enjoy knowing about him.

britt - when angelina signed with republic they gave her complete control over her music and her mother said they couldn't promote her until she graduates. she skipped the 6th grade and will graduate this summer.
then they will drop her album and i would assume a world tour....about this performance Norway is in a partnership with california about climate change and because of covid HRH prince haakon could not attend conference in california. he knew angelina had moved to la and personally called her to represent norway at conference. this was only entertainment and was live..her english is incredible..love ur channel...BTW angelina is norways national treasure...also they had had a little party at republic studios for A J for 17th birthday and taura stinson (songwriter composer author ) and diane warren ( greatest contemporary songwriter )were singing her HB ..all the greats in the industry want to work with her. this album could be epic...

Angelina stays much closer to the original than with Billie Jean. Still she makes it her own in other subtle ways. The song is not very hard to sing, to make it sound so beautiful and interesting is hard . She sings this delicately and beautifully to convey this important message of hope and love.

I would like to remind once again what is special about this spectacular performance. Angelina received an invitation to this official event *"virtual visit from Crown Prince Haakon of Norway to the state of California"* , which was held in this form because of the pandemic. Angelina's live performance was part of this event via *Livestream* . Angelina's welcoming words were primarily addressed directly to the Crown Prince,those responsible and the World.

If I recall correctly, the Crown Prince of Norway is a personal friend of Angelina's.
In 2015, the Norwegian company Jotun opened a new marine and protective coatings factory outside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The opening ceremony was attended by H.R.H. Crown Prince of Norway, Haakon, who officially opened the factory. Crown Prince Haakon invited Angelina Jordan to sing and represent Norway at this ceremony in Rio de Janeiro and she did a great job (at age 9!).

Great reaction thanks 🙏 Yeah Angelina has a amazing team behind her, her Grandparents have always been a inspiration especially her Grandmother who is involved with production and introduced Angelina to Jazz and the old greats musicians, and Angelina’s Uncle is her manager, the pianist is two times Grammy Award winner Rob Christie the musical director of Republic Records who Angelina signed with aged 14 years old, Republic Records I’m sure was a good move as they seem to allow Angelina the flexibility to flourish in her own way which is not the case with other Record companies !
She has, from a young age, perfected the 'breathy'. 'whisper-like' inflections
that were learned from Billie Holiday and when it comes to applying those
techniques to heartfelt ballads, there is no one who can bring forth the same
degree of emotion laden penetration into the human soul as this girl. She has
stated that if not for Billie Holiday, she wouldn't be the singer she has come to

Every time she interprets a song by stripping it in her own way, she seems to simultaneously increase the level of understanding of the lyrics and amplify their expressive power. Angelina's musical vision transcends the ordinary and she always manages to give a different interpretative reading, she really has a musical knowledge and analytical ability that is beyond my understanding, also considering her age. Yes, her career has so far been very well managed and she has been protected from many of the dangers of the industry. After knowing the untimely and oftentimes disastrous ends to many of her vocal mentors and friends, she is very aware how fortunate she is to have such a protecting and defending family and team around her. And also how her dreams love for music has placed a tremendous responsibility and even burden at times on her family. You are right! I wonder what was recorded in advance (since it's not clearly done in one take): the intro speech or the song. For her it's more safe to sing in public than to talk, I guess!
@@erikcouvret That's for sure. She's not comfortable speaking at all. But she's improving 🙂 She seemed very natural on her concerts this summer, speaking quite a bit to the audience. And very soon she'll have to get comfortable on interviews as well I guess 😉😊
I remember during her 2021 christmas special when she said that she is not very talkative and it is nice to see her improving since then in a very natural and charming way. A few days ago she gave a red carpet interview during the "Unforgettable" Asian American Awards and was asked a tough question ("What does being asian mean to you?"). While thinking about an answer and searching for the right words she made a perfect "Squirrel" move ("Oh, my good - is that Bella Poarch?") to buy enough time to find an answer. Very smart.
