If you notice the clothes and make up of Simone became simpler while dealing with Karl’s illness. She stopped thinking about the glam and all that and starting focusing in things that really mattered. That’s why is not a surprise that she feels proud of her gray hair, she started to not care what people thinks of her.
That is just the greatest and low level tongue-in-cheek humor is skillfully presented. Difference between stuffing yourself with fast food and a lavish dinner (even home cooked) that you slowly savor leaving you with a satisfied contentment of fullness with no gut ache of overindulgence like a shark in feeding frenzy. Could watch or even just listen for hours. Should of had their own series.

I wish this show had more seasons. I had to go to Mexicali when I was watching the series and could not see it in Mexico. I would drive to a restaurant , Cafe etc..really close to the border to watch it.
