Outro: Chopin - Etude Op. 10 No. 1
Hello, I'm Rousseau, I make piano covers of classical and pop songs with a reactive visualizer. New videos every Monday and Thursday!
#Rousseau #Piano #PianoCover Видеоклипы
The last Etude of Chopin's original set of 24. This final Etude is interestingly reminiscent of the first in Op. 10, both heavily featuring arpeggios with the melody being placed underneath - perhaps this is why the nicknames of both are associated with rushing water (Waterfall/Ocean). Another interesting piece of history with the two sets are the dedications - Op. 10 was famously dedicated to Liszt, but it is less known that Op. 25 was dedicated to Liszt's mistress! Make of that what you will. Hope your Monday and week ahead are excellent ♥
Yeah, I thought that this was op 10 no 1
Aren't they both ocean etudes?
Tickle Dad ocean is op 25 no 12, waterfall is op 10 no 1
Op 25 No 1 now
😍😍😍
can you play dance of the sugar plum fairy?
The symmetry in his hands and notes during all of those arpeggios is so satisfying.
ok
Symmetry would be 1 hand goes up while the other goes down

ik its not the point and this reply is really late, but for anyone who doesnt know chopin didnt give nicknames to his etudes, it was the people he played them for that gave them nicknames, and i could be wrong but i think he actually hated when people gave them names

@@ecksdee9768 no..
2:00 - 2:08 too
Just sad that the c major parts inbetween detracts from these parts
I feel like it should more right thumb than left pinky until when it builds up to the iconic first part you should add more bass by playing more on the left pinky, Idk that's my opinion
Which Chopin Etude should be next?
Wrong note
25 5
Opus 25 No. 9 pls
Revolutionary Etude (if that counts)
op 25 no 1
I think Chopin's Heroic Polonaise and Wrong Note etude are going to be the next HR2s on Rousseau's channel
No as they are relatively easy and they'll play it quickly atleast I hope
@@avi8365 Never thought I would hear someone say heroic polonaise is easy
Avi What's relatively easy lol. Polonaise in A flat is nothing near relatively easy, it's one of the hardest works of Chopin
@@avi8365 yeah but he still didnt played them...
@@avi8365 heroic polonaise isn't easy bro! It's as hard as HR2 if not harder.
Chopin wrote this as if he knew it would look like waves of an ocean in Synthesia
That's what it looks like without synthesia too? Plus he didn't name it himself
@@augustjakobsen4960
yeah he didn’t approve of the naming the music critics gave his pieces, I mean makes sense let the piece do the talking
Chopin was the master of insanely emotional harmonies😢
Me: Is the melody on left hand or right?
Chopin: Yes.
Right hand... either his left hand's pinky was too loud or his right thumb was too quiet, but, the bass note was overpowering the main melody... lol

I honestly love Grieg. He is my favourite composer along with Bach and Chopin

this looks like it would be really fun to play once you know it
In the beginning yes, but at the end no cause my hands start to feel really tired fast while with other pieces I could play for hours
@Slighty 4638 When it comes to a piece like this, it's a different learning process for us all so I can't tell you exactly how to do it. All I can really say is the way I practiced it, I started with learning to play it in a very slow tempo, get the placement of the fingers absolutely right and once I had that in my locker I just slowly sped up a little bit everytime until I had the right tempo. It takes alot of practice but it's worth it if you have the time
Been working on this etude for a month now. Mad respects Rousseau, this joker ain’t easy.

@@chasseblanc I mean it worked, I did the Revolutionary as a part of my exam and got an A+. So all's well that ends well. (I'll come back to this etude at some point 😁)
I like how this one sounds so much like a narrative, like it's telling a story of grief.
Example:
0:00-0:29 is the initial grief
0:29-0:56 the person recalls a fond memory of who they lost
0:56-2:06 as a result of recalling that memory, the feeling of grief and missing that person intensify
2:06-end The person overcomes their grief, choosing to think only fondly of the person they lost.
Prodigy!

I have been learning this piece for a while now and I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to play it this fast.
I love it!!!
Chopin imbues his composition with this sensation of grandiosity that meets no peer, and the visuals show how much of a vigorous exercise it is to the pianist
I’ve been waiting for you do this one for awhile tbh
I swear I’m going climb Mt. Everest tomorrow.
You did it man.
You are able to remind me why I love the God given talent of piano and the sounds that resonate from one. I love guitar, I love harp. Even cello. I love them. But not as much as piano. She has a way of gently ripping my soul from my body. And Chopin. Piano is playing him. I can’t understand his unpredictability. I’m with him, I see where he’s going. Then he goes somewhere else. I say “ get back here, we are not done yet.”
He returns, then ends with correct and satisfying notes.
You did wonderful. Invigorating. Soul searching.
Left then right then left then right etc... Love it ! :D
Stunning visual effects used in the video, I must say. And while this is not a piece I expected to be played after all the Opus 44 and Opus 53 requests, I am not even in the slightest mad as this was certainly a worthy video to post instead of either opuses requested. Many thanks to you for uploading this.

Completely agree. I'm also learning this piece. The epic meter on this piece is off the chart!
Interpretation is a real challenge too
This sounds very similar to Etude Op.10 No.1: "Waterfall"🌊. The thing that makes it very different, is that this is his last Etude, & Waterfall is his first Etude.🎹
mmmm not that similar

His voice is changing already 😂
Yooo I been waiting for this 😅
The precision he has to play the piano is incredible, I subscribe
practically all Chopin's pieces are very difficult, you can't afford it, you are WONDERFUL (O)
What amazes me about this Etude is how dramatic and climactic and complex it feels, and yet how simple it is in construction. It is essentially the same arpeggiated pattern over and over again over a set of chords, and it only really has two voices, three if you could the sustained pedal tones of the melody, and the figure at 0:14. It feels not too far away from something Bach could have composed. And yet it forms something absolutely breathtaking.
I am intermediate but it feels learnable! such a masterpiece

I must say, this must be clear inspiration for Matthew Bellamy from Muse. It so much sounds like them, I would not be surprised if Muse have used parts of this in one or more of their songs...
I absolutely LOVE this piece by Chopin. Actually, this was one of the last songs I learned with my piano teacher or was about to learn until I had to stop :) but eventually I will learn this piece again on my own one of these days. May I suggest playing Schubert's Impromptu in Eb Major Op. 9o No. 2? I used to play this piece myself :) I always had a love for classical music / jazz. I still play piano from time to time :) Your playing is phenomenal and your Dynamics are great as well! :)
