"Light Skinhead"... Nailed it. LOL
Glad you did this one, bro 🔥
Did you actually listen to this shit?
Myke C-Town curiosity got the better of me, lesson learned. 😂
Colin Lacativa I only like Fallen for some reason. No one else seems to like it.
TheLastBarbedWire Nah, the beat on Fallen is great. The hook/melody is sticky too, imo
"I don't get it, it's just too deep for me."
- Myke C Town, 2018
Rebekah Flores I thought I was woke until I heard this album but I guess I'm half woke I'm daydreaming
"Green eggs and ham, Sam, the god has spoken" BARS!!!!
mc danglin ballz back at it
"Its just to deep for me". You funny.
Victor França
It was meant to be funny. He wasn’t serious.
Jaden Smith dropped a better album than Eminem in 2017... Let that shit sink in
id disagree they are about similar tier.
saw this comment on anthony fantanos vid weeks ago. phony ass.
I don't feel like that's a bar worth bragging if you beat, but true.
Shut up melon head
I think it's generally generic trap album is more preferable to people than pop rock rap album with pop features
Review Saturation 3 if yall arent doing it on DEHH
“it’s just too deep for me”
I’m dead af 💀
Perfect sarcasm lol
man you or the whole dehh team gotta review that N.E.R.D album !!!
Jaden smith (2017) > Eminem (2017). I'm planning on crying now
So that “Myke C-Town” profile was the actual Myke C-Town. I was nervous that it was a fake account. I almost lost my shit when I saw you on the amino. Good to see you on the app.
Did mike really just tell the karate kid himself that he hasn’t “waxed on, waxed off” enough? 😂
Azzxberry FINALLY!!!!!!!! Someone got the reference!!! Thank you!!! 🤣
Myke C-Town I thought it was clever!
This is by far the most honest review i've seen of this record and at the same it contains the best advice i've heard for Jaden instead of just shitting on him. Man, I love your videos
I feel like Jaden is trying super hard to be a knock-off Tyler the creator
More Brockhampton and Childish Gambino.
This album soooo deeep you don’t get it bro
What really amazes me about Jaden Smith is how drastically he was able to flip his reputation overnight with a single project. Corny, fake deep, self-indulgent and try-hard are all completely subjective qualitative assessments, so I'm not gonna shit on anyone for disagreeing with others on whether or not Jaden is an annoying pseudo-intellectual pseudo-artsy spoiled child, but what I will say is that I think a whole bunch of heads are so impressionable that anyone could convince them about their artistic genius if they're confident enough or just have a good ear for beats. I don't know about y'all, but I clearly remember when Jaden's bullshit tweets were universally ridiculed for either not being that deep or being straight-up nonsensical, and this wasn't even _that_ long ago, but now people are calling you a hater if you think his lyrics suck, although it's the same exact fake deep crap over an instrumental. I really want to learn how he was able to pull this off.
multi million dollar marketing agencies.
how the fuck did trump become president? sheepbrain states of america
I don't even press play yet and I already know this review is priceless!
Love this album!! Glad you reviewed it C-Town!!
Myke inferring Jaden has trash friends alone is worth the sub and like 😂
Great review Myke!
I feel like if you took Jaden off the album and just kept the beats structured the way they are on the album and kept that "FALLING DOWN FALLING DOWN" hook on U, this would've been a legitimately epic instrumental hip-hop album (except for that tacky ass Watch Me).
The lyrics are what killed this for me above all, though I actually didn't mind Jaden's flow on it for the most part since he has improved a lot from the other trash he's done from a technical perspective. He didn't sound as boring as usual, actually had some energy. Overall if this just had an actual Emcee on these beats it would've been one of the best albums of the year in my opinion, but he's far to amateurish of a rapper and his reach far exceeds his grasp on here.
josephnsparrowb hit the nail right on the head bro👍🏿
With better bars and the same flows it would be one of the top rap albums this year.
If u only want the falling down part, check the original track by Lido out? 😜
Thanks for sponsoring us.
Myke I love what u said at the end like frfr
I miss you Quoting lyrics in the dehh reviews.. You would do that for albums you are usually excited about. That's why i enjoy your solo reviews.
"You haven't waxed-on, waxed-off enough," loooool!
Great review Myke! I'm not going to lie this album was better than expected coming from Jaden Smith. I would expect this to be way worse than what it turned out to be but I still do agree with all of your complaints. Those lyrics were pretty bad but expected from Jaden given his past Tweets. But yea I thought the record was okay for Jaden had this been anyone else I probably wouldn't like it as much but they thats just me. Also while you're at it if you like Amino I would suggest the Metal Amino as well. It has lots of interesting blogs and people on it. It's also a way bigger community than the R&HH one just my recommendation. Great stuff man!
I like these vids where u make a review off of one listen of something we wouldn’t normally get
Just wondering Mike, is a Saturation 3 review coming soon from you guys at Dead end
Cool review MYKIEEE
Stay blessed KING.
Big Fan From Saudi Arabia.
This is going to be good.
"Maybe Jaden doesn't have friends" - Mike
Great and insightful video as usual, Myke. As some constructive criticism, I think it would help if you cut that super short awkward pause out at the end of each segment. It's super short, but noticeable in my opinion.
Finally! I was waiting to see a second opinion on this album from you guys, Fantano beat the shit out of this album.
what do i need to do for myke to listen to lil ugly mane
so glad you're getting sponsered fam
Love your opinion man
You're right with him having potential to grow. Have yet to listen to the full album, heard a few songs and thought Batman was a dope track.
aye myke what is your name on that hip hop amino app
Welcome to the HHA community my dude
Myke how do I find you on Hip Hop Amino?
could you please review Rex Orange County for your Out of My Element series?
This Review was like clean dishes
Also I think that the problem you brought up around 6:50 is partially because of Will Smith always telling his son *that’s deep* when he says something like “what is nothing?”
I still can't get over how he said "I am not a Mayan, Im a Menace" in a recording studio full of people and no one thought that was awful. He's basically a Trust Fund Baby version of a "Mumble Rapper"
what’s the name of the song at the end?
Myke, what u think of ninety??
C Town Is An Icon Livin'
Just missed out ninety excuse me that's the best song on the album?
What's your hip hop amino name myke
The mystery school is a reference to a part of the msfts website
Was that super deep Karate Kid joke intentional? If so, you deserve mad props.
Guess you'll never know...
Hello kitty line was a shot at me.
Still better hen revival
Jesus H. Macy
It's easy to say something like this now when the albums are new if you prefer the production, but I can take a good two thirds of the tracks from Revival which have infinitely more replay value than Syre because the lyrics are actually about something. Revival is honestly not even that bad compared to everything out last year, it's just dissapointing from Eminem because it's somehow worse than even middle of the road Em albums like Relapse, Shady XV and the Southpaw soundtrack album. Compare it to Macklemore's Gemini however and it's a different story.
When eminem pulls a post malone and comments on RUclips
Tairi Buchanan
Did Post Malone pull a Kevin Durant?
ogbmt Absolutely correct
ogbmt lyrics alone aren’t enough to make an album good. Even though Revival had a few songs with decent lyrics, they were ruined by terrible production and flows while sometimes you can tune Jaden’s lyrics out. Also, I can name plenty of hip-hop albums last year that blew Revival out of the water like Damn, 4:44, Saturation 1-3, Flower Boy, Boomiverse, 4eva is a Mighty Long Time, and even Culture were better and Revival would’ve been trash no matter who released it. Eminem has been trash for about 13 years now, so I wouldn’t put it past him.
"You haven't waxed on and waxed off enough bruh" I see what you did there!
everything stated in this video I stand by
I need a review of that NERD album
the way i enjoy this album is just not listening to the lyrics. i dig this project sonically and it works as great background music
everything jaden dropped before syre has been better than syre as a whole especially lyrically (Offering, Beast Mode, Let It Breathe, LABOR V2) just to name a few but there's a ton of gems out there (Weekend in Atlantis, Kite, 4 My 1, BLUE OCEAN V19(Extended version thats 7 mins ) those prolly aint even the top gems but theyre slept on and overlooked and i still vibe to them today
he hit that note on the “nOoOoOo!”
"I don't even know why you're here" hahaha that was fresher than his lines
It was cool. Like I said not as bad as some said, but no where near as good as some people said. It is an enjoyable listen but only at face value.
Would lil Wayne make these lyrics hilarious?
Mystery Schools were very big in Ancient Egypt. They taught spiritual enlightenment. That's what he was referring to
That's what he meant? Wow. Yeah...too deep for me.
If you listen to Jaden's old shit he put more time into lyrics this album was more of an alternative trap album wasn't expecting his bars to hella deep this project.
You gotta review Brockhampton’s Saturation 3!
It's because him and xxxtentacion are both teenagers.
You the real mvp daug
I love ya but where's the Jpeg at?
You liked fallen?
Review sun kil moon benji for out of my element!
Myke a goat
something that i really noticed from this album is jaden has really nice ears for beats but his lyrics have to get better
Myke got sponsors oh shit
THE PENTAGON IS ON A RUN
I loved it
*ICON LIVIN*
This is why Antwon Fantwon is a fan of yours.
This gonna be good
Starts at 1:06
A college freshman who just read his first Dostoevsky book lmao. I remember when I was that guy, but thankfully I didn't make a record showing everybody lol
3:06 BARS!
How has drake not made lightskinhead yet
r stine
17 year old girls don't fuck with Giggs and Skepta that much tbh. Drake does a lot of different stuff.
Great production (especially on BLUE by Lido), good flow and interpretation, decent rhyme schemes, weak bars and superficial lyrics.
I'm with Myke, this shit is too deep for me.
I've only heard one song, that Icon one.. and it just came across as a young kid who is just super entitled. I think when you self describe yourself as an Icon you're probably not an Icon?
I lost it at "Lightskinhead" 😂
I was actually thinking about checking this out, but some of those lyrics man. It's a no for me dawg.
You really need to listen to jaden Smith beastmode and his remix of the worst
Especially listen to blue ocean
He can rap really well and write good lyrics
Lido getting his respect!
"you havent waxed on waxed off enough yet bruh" - Myke C-Town, 2018
After the opening 4 tracks the album went down hill
That hello kitty line stuck me for a while i paused it on the writing lyrics and tried to analyse it and i was like "Ok so maybe hello kitty , cat refference , so pussy refference so sex , so maybe a neck hickey ( plus that rhymnes with Kitty) So he's showing other rappers how to get hickeys basicelly #TheartOfOverAnalysing
I'm surprised you listened to this record. I listened to it myself and enjoyed the first four tracks, but after that it kinda went to shit. Homeboy was trying too hard to sound prolific and deep. He comes off as a cornball tbh. He should just make Wholesome PG-13 Raps like his father before him lol.
What'd you think of A7PHA btw?
Goddammit! I keep forgetting to listen to A7PHA!
+Myke C-Town It's understandable. I imagine that you have a lot to listen to, and even more going on outside your life. Maybe one day when you driving, pop that shit on and enjoy lol
idk why mediocre rappers continue to write rhetorical questions into their lyrics, like they don’t know how bad they’re gonna get clowned
DO TYCHO NEXT
"Confusing Confucius" 0_0
Jaden needs a writer. The music on Syre sounded AMAZING but the lyrics were so terrible it just ruined it. It was worse than mumble rap because at least we know that rappers like Future aren’t TRYING to be deep.
Jaden has great flow but lord I be confused on what he is rapping about
Trial By Fire!!!
Ohhh we out here! Myke making that RUclips sponsor money! lol
Man that’s such a shame..jaden used to make fire music years ago and believe or not he used to spit fire.
maybe bc im 18, i like it lol. All your points are valid as fuck, but idk the album kinda fits my life so i enjoy it. But i wouldn't reccomend it to anyone over the age of 25 for sure
