@@johnmurray8428 Ah, sorry about that. Without wanting to be facetious, could you put your headphones on the other way so you get the voice over. Anyway, there are lots of other videos about this line that have much more information. I lived near the Ally Pally and went on this line quite often as a kid before it was closed in 1954. Have a look at my computer simulation, (the audio is not important.) ruclips.net/video/MiQLxx2wHZw/видео.html&pp=ygUhZmluc2J1cnkgcGFyayB0byBhbGV4YW5kcmEgcGFsYWNl
Thanks for making this video, Sam. As another commenter has pointed out, the title reads Disused Stations - Alexander Palace Railway Station, If you correct this to Disused Stations - Alexandra Palace Railway Station you may get more traffic.
If hundreds of homes could be demolished for HS2 construction, then restoring the track bed should not be any problem. With a bit of thought and line extension, the catchment area could include some of that proposed for Crossrail 2, at less cost.
The music and the marration are recorded on different tracks. An unusual video in which the music is in the foreground at high recording level and the narration in the background at low level, making the video pretty useless. I suggest you address the audio and republish,
It was never operated by main line engines as shown in the video. Before WWII it had eight carriage trains, probably hauled by Gresley 0-6-2 tank engines but after the war it had two carriage units hauled by one of two tank engines built in 1896, with a driving cab at the other end of the train. .
The commentary is on the left, the music on the right. If you can adjust the balance of your audio, you can fix it, although I agree you shouldn't have to.
Yeah well; if you could get those squeaking violin’s out of the middle so we could concentrate on what we are suppose to know or listen, that would be nice. I love music but when you doo these videos, having music behind it is pointless and discourages you from looking at it … even if it’s no doubt interesting.
There's no point, Alexandra Palace station on the slow lines of the Kings Cross main line is at the foot of the hill, about half a mile away, serves the need.
The music, as nice as it is, drowns out the commentary!
Nice video, many memories from here. Thank you.
You can adjust the L-R balance.
@@bertspeggly4428 I can’t, I am death in my left ear.
And why American?

Shocking sound quality and the "voiceover" sounded computer generated. Needs a complete re-dub to make it listenable.
Alexandra Palace!

Becomes a totally pointless production when the interesting historical commentary is totally drowned out by the accompanying musical track.

Music way too loud, narration can't be heard over it.
alexander palace does have a train station its on the thameslink lol

Ah, but the rest of the line through Muswell Hill etc would have been very useful.
@@bertspeggly4428 Still just a short ride to Turney Pickle Larney, as the Italian POWs from Trent Park called it.
The walk uphill is tiring- I've done it when I could walk.
@@MervynPartin I do it frequently. My gym's next door.
