It's still a useful screen recording app, but those are pretty major limitations, which would likely be deal-breakers for many people looking for a screen recording solution. Otherwise, like I said, great work!

for me i was trying to record discord, if you have 2 monitors drag it to the monitor where game bar starts / your main monitor and press windows and g it should work
I like these type of solid geniuses and using usually short videos. They aren't pirated copies, too. I don't have chiper oversaw the cheapnesses until the phrase goes on ahead of time. One of my favourites is Kevin Stratvert

The first time it recorded the Game bar screen and I could see the cursor moving so I noticed you must be on the app or program that u want to record, otherwise it won't work, if switching apps and that, it won't work

I had to click the Widget item in the main Game Bar (2nd icon from the left in the bar with the time) and click on Capture for the widget to appear. Thanks for the tip!

if it doesn't work, press windows+alt+r and open the xbox game bar again and it should not be shadowed anymore. hope this helped. (May 5, 2023)
