@@seemabhutani129 Of course! Let's take a dream for example. We all agree that our dreams aren't "really happening," since they have no direct effect on the world around us (roughly speaking). Yet, our bodies have physiological reactions to our dreams, if you're having a nightmaer that is very stressful you might wake up sweating or with your heart racing, or if someone you love dies in a dream you might wake up crying. So while these things in our dreams don't "really happen," they are real. Real in a different way than having a material consequence. Real to us, emotionally real. Our minds and bodies are still experiencing the dream, even if it's not "happening." That is just one way in which something could "not really be happening" while also "being real." Am I making sense?

@@merphynapier42 I understand that it's not as much your thing, and that it wouldn't be as good for channel content, but I actually recommend watching the anime for this. A lot of moments are still great in the manga, but the anime is just on another level. The comedy, for example, is just made better by the voice actors and surrounding sound design. Gintama's opening themes are iconic, and much of the music still hits all of the right buttons for me to this day. Although, really, I just hope you check it out and enjoy it. Gintama is a phenomenal work and I believe you will be better off for having read it.
Gintama is much better experienced once you have a considerable knowledge baggage on anime and manga though. I feel like Merphy wouldnt appreciate it enough if she wont get all the anime and manga references, its like the cherry on top of the series. But yes there is also the found family trope in it if she ever wants to watch or read the manga (I recommend the anime for this one, the voice acting makes the story even better)

It is from the New Testament and within the context of the passage in the Bible it goes on to talk about not putting stake in earthly things because you cannot take those with you when you die. I think this oddly enough, showed the value of not just select quotes more so the whole work. When I heard quotes from books I hadn't read I understood them, appreciated them but I fear I didn't feel them. But when the One Piece quotes came I didn't just think of the words. I thought of the old quack smiling that a tragedy was a fake to kill him, proclaiming a monster his son before entrusting his dreams to others. I thought of the old Knight reminding the mourning boy that he still had a purpose beyond his loss. I thought of the man who upon knowing his death, begged an old friend to understand his own heart and chose to laugh to comfort a little girl. With nothing but the hope of a better life for another to give him joy. Alone these quotes are thought provoking excellent examinations of the human condition. But with the wider context and emotions held within the story they become truly magical.

Yet, our bodies have physiological reactions to our dreams, if you're having a nightmaer that is very stressful you might wake up sweating or with your heart racing, or if someone you love dies in a dream you might wake up crying. So while these things in our dreams don't "really happen," they are real. Real in a different way than having a material consequence. Real to us, emotionally real. Our minds and bodies are still experiencing the dream, even if it's not "happening." That is just one way in which something could "not really be happening" while also "being real." Am I making sense?

@@merphynapier42 it’s amazingly funny, some jokes don’t quite hit like some others but all in all it is hilarious. There are also epic fights that compliment the arcs
@@merphynapier42 I understand that it's not as much your thing, and that it wouldn't be as good for channel content, but I actually recommend watching the anime for this. A lot of moments are still great in the manga, but the anime is just on another level. The comedy, for example, is just made better by the voice actors and surrounding sound design. Gintama's opening themes are iconic, and much of the music still hits all of the right buttons for me to this day.
Although, really, I just hope you check it out and enjoy it. Gintama is a phenomenal work and I believe you will be better off for having read it.
I can't wait for your thoughts on Gintama, It's literally my favorite anime of all time.
Gintama is much better experienced once you have a considerable knowledge baggage on anime and manga though. I feel like Merphy wouldnt appreciate it enough if she wont get all the anime and manga references, its like the cherry on top of the series.
But yes there is also the found family trope in it if she ever wants to watch or read the manga (I recommend the anime for this one, the voice acting makes the story even better)

I think this oddly enough, showed the value of not just select quotes more so the whole work. When I heard quotes from books I hadn't read I understood them, appreciated them but I fear I didn't feel them.
But when the One Piece quotes came I didn't just think of the words. I thought of the old quack smiling that a tragedy was a fake to kill him, proclaiming a monster his son before entrusting his dreams to others.
I thought of the old Knight reminding the mourning boy that he still had a purpose beyond his loss.
I thought of the man who upon knowing his death, begged an old friend to understand his own heart and chose to laugh to comfort a little girl. With nothing but the hope of a better life for another to give him joy.
Alone these quotes are thought provoking excellent examinations of the human condition. But with the wider context and emotions held within the story they become truly magical.
A bit off topic since we are from gaming but couple of quates that i can remember from the top of my head:
