The middleweight division has really been a disappointment over the last few years. Golovkin has shown no desire to be undisputed since his loss, Charlo seems to be waiting on a Canelo sweepstakes and rarely takes on tough assignments, and Andrade is just kind of there with no other choice but to fight mandatories and whoever else. The Middleweight division...doesn’t feel like there is any ambition in that division.
It's weird because Andrade and Golovkin shouldn't be that hard to make considering they're both with DAZN. Though Golovkin is fighting the lesser known WBA super champion next month which isn't really a huge fight on paper but could be exciting. Regardless, we all want to see the big names fight each other but that just isn't happening

And yes, I believe Golovkin did very much underestimate Canelo’s developed inside fighting ability in the second fight, as well as his ability to adapt from fight to fight. However, if I’m being unbiased; then as much as I sympathize with Golovkin I do still blame him. If the Canelo fights are the reason for his lack of ambition I would prefer that he go ahead and retire as Hagler did after his loss to Leonard. Be done with boxing if that is the case. The sport is filled with fighters who chased glory against specific fighters only to be let down; some of them suffered what Golovkin did on more than one occasion. Archie Moore being an example. But, some of these guys still pushed forward ambitiously. I like Golovkin, I really do. But, since I want to see him be great in the sport, I can’t expect any less of him than those who continually sought greatness even after the sport wronged them. Hopefully, we’ll see more ambition from Golovkin after December if he gets past Murata.
All the champions at 160 want that payday at 168 but nobody had the balls to move up and challenge plant or Benavidez to put themselves in position. Now it’s too late but they’re all delusional and think they’re in line to get the fight.

You’re asking a question you know the answer to. IBF mandated sergey Deveranchenko. He wanted more money and didn’t take the fight. He chose to fight GGG for less money. IBF then stripped canelo because he didn’t fight him. If you want to ask, then ask why Andrade hasn’t activated his WBO right to be mandatory at 168. Shit he could’ve done that last year so that billy Joe was forced to fight him. Had he won, Andrade would’ve faced canelo May 2021.
Canelo never avoided Andrade, he requested the ibf to let him fight Andrade for undisputed & to not mandate the derevyanchenko fight yet. But the ibf rejected the request & made him fight derevyanchenko & then stripped him of the ibf so Canelo vs Andrade wouldn’t have been for undisputed & he would have had to fight for the ibf again after defeating jacobs.
And derveyanchenko took $500k less to fight ggg for the Ibf. And it seems canelo learned his lesson and did the IBF last for his 168 campaign. Or was it just coincidence.

Andrade is good but i would say caleb plant is definitely better than him. Andrade has a little more power but his defense and offense are worse. Not to mention his last fight he got hurt in by a no name and didnt even look very good in his victory.

I think the reality was that they tried to make the Derevyachenko fight first and then the plan was to go for undisputed vs Andrade rather than jump straight into Andrade coming out of a Jacobs fight. When the Derevyachenko fight failed and Canelo was stripped off IBF there was no more reason for Canelo to stay at 160. If you ask me I blame Oscar and Derevyachenko for Canelo leaving 160.

Sergey was offered 5.5million and rejected it and talks between the two stopped and canelo was then stripped of his IBF. Then since canelo wanted to still fight he fought at 175 against kovalev. The stupid thing is that sergey took 5 million to fight GGG. $500k less than what canelo offered him.

The middleweight division has really been a disappointment over the last few years. Golovkin has shown no desire to be undisputed since his loss, Charlo seems to be waiting on a Canelo sweepstakes and rarely takes on tough assignments, and Andrade is just kind of there with no other choice but to fight mandatories and whoever else. The Middleweight division...doesn’t feel like there is any ambition in that division.
It's weird because Andrade and Golovkin shouldn't be that hard to make considering they're both with DAZN. Though Golovkin is fighting the lesser known WBA super champion next month which isn't really a huge fight on paper but could be exciting. And yes, I believe Golovkin did very much underestimate Canelo’s developed inside fighting ability in the second fight, as well as his ability to adapt from fight to fight. However, if I’m being unbiased; then as much as I sympathize with Golovkin I do still blame him. If the Canelo fights are the reason for his lack of ambition I would prefer that he go ahead and retire as Hagler did after his loss to Leonard. Be done with boxing if that is the case. The sport is filled with fighters who chased glory against specific fighters only to be let down; some of them suffered what Golovkin did on more than one occasion. Archie Moore being an example. But, some of these guys still pushed forward ambitiously. I like Golovkin, I really do. But, since I want to see him be great in the sport, I can’t expect any less of him than those who continually sought greatness even after the sport wronged them. Hopefully, we’ll see more ambition from Golovkin after December if he gets past Murata.

I think the reality was that they tried to make the Derevyachenko fight first and then the plan was to go for undisputed vs Andrade rather than jump straight into Andrade coming out of a Jacobs fight. When the Derevyachenko fight failed and Canelo was stripped off IBF there was no more reason for Canelo to stay at 160. If you ask me I blame Oscar and Derevyachenko for Canelo leaving 160.

Canelo DIDNT fight Andrade because the IBF wouldn’t allow a unification with canelo and Andrade and forced canelo to fight his mandatory (sergey). Sergey was offered 5.5million and rejected it and talks between the two stopped and canelo was then stripped of his IBF. Then since canelo wanted to still fight he fought at 175 against kovalev.
The stupid thing is that sergey took 5 million to fight GGG. $500k less than what canelo offered him.
