Great job on the build.👍 My pump runs off a 265 industrial flat head Chrysler that's what powers my bombardier. Which has 4 attachments on the machine. Blade which stays on, post pounder, log splitter on the back, plus a backhoe that mounts on the back. That's how I have my pump mounted. I used a short drive shaft on a spline. The pump fits into a steel plate that's welded in the frame. Never had a problem and that pump has been like that for decades.
Did you run into any issues with the wedge being off center? Such as binding or jamming in the mast, loss of power on the wedge? Certainly looks killer and anything to eliminate the bending and lifting is a good thing. What did the tongue weight turn out to be with a full load in the tanks? Gotta be a challenge to back such a short rig. Good video series.
We haven’t had any issues with the mast binding. But yes you are correct the wedge being off center could cause issues. I do notice some flex in the mast frame when splitting a tough piece. But no major issues yet. I will do an update video soon. Thanks for watching
I don't know anything about wood splitters or welding, but your explanations of your methods are very educational.
Thanks👍

You could. Maybe make the table thicker
Maybe but that would involve adding a lot more weight in steel..I would like to avoid that
I’d lower the hydraulic cylinder mount and make it more stout.
I think I will be doing that
