If Lala Barina is in Wilds, I see no reason that Rise monsters can be too flashy. I was thinking that for Magnamalo, but now I'm not so sure. Plus... WHO KNOWS how flashy the monster is that the Brain Hammer came from! In terms of Goss: Zamtrios is another old school monster that covered itself in ice.
@@AntlerPierce-k4w Lala barina is far more realistic and believes than any Rise monster is, though. She is far from flashy, in my opinion. Zamtrios is not based on Japanese folklore or Oni demon's like Goss Harag is. Zamtrios is an ice shark, which is far more believable than an Oni demon with a red face, which is what Goss Harag is. The ice elements have nothing to do with whether the monster is believable or not. Aa far as the hammer goes, yeah, that looks very interesting. Could be a whole new clash. I'm very curious to see it.
@@RathalosWatch Personally, Rakna had great armor and a few good weapons. And Somnacanth was such an interesting monster with a great subspecies. Even enjoying the fight and current grind against Espinas.
@@tigerx36 I'll be very honest with you, I am not a huge fan of Somnacanth. I could see her appear in Wilds though in the Scarlet Forest swimming in the shallow red waters. Rakna is ok, I think Lala Barina from Wilds though is looking far superior. And I rather have Nerscylla back from MH4 instead of Rakna if we get another arachnid.
@@RathalosWatch Agree with you about Lala Barina, her armor and Charge Blade in the weapon overview looked amazing. And I see myself using just a couple of Nerscylla's weapons but its armor looks nice too. Just that in GenU, it gave me a rough time when I first fought it. And I can understand about Somnacanth but the fight with the subspecies was what got me to see it differently.
Okay, here me out; for the expansion we need a Goss Harag subspecies; Voltaic Goss Harag, with Thunder element augmenting his physical attacks and found exclusively in the Windward Plains, where he grinds his electrified fists into the sand to create blades, clubs and even shields made of fulgurite (aka natural glass) and make Ice it's weakness as Ice would make the glass blades brittle enough to shatter
@deinonychus1948 but wouldn't that clash too much with Rey Dau? Rey Dau is already the big bad boss with thunder powers. I think Goss Harag needs his own element like Ice or Fire.
Can't say I disagree with the views on Rise as an overall game, but bashing on the game didn't add any value/insight on why Goss should return. Nonetheless, would love to see Goss return personally. But if we had to choose a single Ice monster from Rise to return for Wilds I'd pick Lunagaron.
Thanks for your honest opinion. And in my opinion though it did add something to the video because my point was that Goss Harag would have been even a better fight without the silly wyvern riding and weirebug shenanigans dodging. That was the reason why I mentioned it. Yes, Goss is a great fight already, but it could have been even better if you take away those mechanics. So my point is that bringing him into Wilds would be fantastic because wirebugs and wyvern riding doesn't exist. Perhaps I should of clarified of what I meant by that by going deeper into it, but I didn't want to turn it into a Rise vs World video. And I wasn't really bashing Rise, I was giving it criticism on what I didn't like about it. Rise on its own is a fantastic game, but its not the real true monster hunting experience. One big thing Rise has over world/iceborne though is its roster, which is far superior, but the mechanics and the whole hand holding it is not helping it.
@@RathalosWatch The thing is you didn’t portray what you wanted to say very well and it came off to me, just like that commenter that it’s needless bashing of rise. Close to the start of the video you outright comment on how monsters are always visible on the map and bashed rise for it, regardless of that discussion it was entirely unrelated to goss. You come off biased, that was the impression I got. It’s especially noticeable because honestly.. you don’t even make a good point here. Goss is already one of the slowest paced fights in the game, wirebugs/riding barely impacted him when you compare that to the faster paced fights. He’s already easy, heck you avoid all his attacks in the clip you’ve shown by just walking around him. Wirebugs didn’t make goss easy… he already is easy. So it’s entirely unnecessary to bring up criticism for rise for no reason when the focus should be entirely on the monster. Besides all that honestly saying “it’s not the true monster hunter experience” isn’t fair either, it quite literally is because that’s what capcom made and released as a portable title. I’m enjoying your content as I’ve found it recently but I thought I’d just give some criticism myself as the bias was very very obvious here. A video based on your thoughts of rise/sunbreak could be interesting.
Goss Harag is one of the reason why I still go back to rise, even to this day, just to fight monsters that aren’t in world. The first time I saw him put ice weapons on I thought that was awesome. I think he was a favorite for many. I really really hope for his return.
I feel personal like rise/sunbreak newcomers should probably sit out wilds just because I don't think a lot of them would fit the tone or maps for wilds, however there are a couple of exceptions and Goss harag is one of them, he would be a fantastic addition to a snowy tundra map, he's just awesome and deserves to be in a game where he can acutaly be a threat
I honestly made a goss harag lone species name Doss harag. Doss harag is my dragon element monster that I made and it would fight the original goss harag
Short answer is yes, he should return. On that side tangent that everyone loves to mention, 5th gen in general was "easier" in comparison to older games due to the massive QoL changes. Also y'all need to stop mentioning the "main and portable" team argument, literally the best games in the the series were portable and "grounded" 😂😂
Yeah Gen 5 is when MH started getting easier that is true and that is due to QoL changes. But let's be real Rise was just went super hand holding, it was too much. I went back to MHFU to capture footage for this series that I am running and I have to say, the game isn't really that hard, it was the stupid hitboxes and camera that made it difficulty but in reality there isn't much difference in terms of fighting the monsters themselves lol.
Bishaten should also came back, the thing with Rise is than the hunter is so boosted than they made high velocity monster. I would love to see how Rise monster would do against more slower hunters while staying the same.
Would love to see a fire subspecies that swings launching fire rocks away or a forest version where he would jam his hands into the ground getting vines and roots that could loosen to use likes whips and tighten to use like swords
Rise is a fantastic game on its own, but as a veteran MH fan it lacked quite a bit with certain challenging aspects and had too much hand holding for my taste. I will say though the Monster Roster was way better than Worlds/Iceborne, especially when Sunbreak came out.
@@RathalosWatch I completely agree! Coming from the original MH, it’s been a wild ride. As the newer titles release the games have definitely gotten easier and better in many respects, more so starting with World. Rise was just over the top easy, I was quite surprised. You’re right the monster list was awesome, the maps were so good too! I hope Wilds goes back to the World hardness.
@@RathalosWatch or a Thunder subspeciesz found in the Windward Plains, who takes a lesson from Rey Dau and creates blades, clubs and even shields out of fulgurite (aka natural glass)
@@deinonychus1948 would be interesting but I think Rey Dau is enough for an Apex predator thunder monster. Goss Harag needs his own thing. I'd say fire would be more fitting.
@@RathalosWatch true, but I was more thinking that the subspecies would be added in the expansion, and lets me real; this new Goss Harag wouldn't be using lightning to create fulgurite blades, he'd be using a much weaker thunder organ to do so and most importantly; he cannot launch the thunder element like Rey Dau, think of it as a Fulgar Anjanath but as a Fanged Beast still, I get where you're coming from... but after Rise/Sunbreaks half dozen fire subspecies, I think they need to tone it down a bit lol
Regarding the difficulty objections brought up near the beginning of the video. Which I want to preface are completely valid but were a bit jarring. Personally I think that the easier base game that World introduced to the series is probably going to remain, and that the best bet is for Capcom to add some sort of difficulty toggle that lets players make the game more difficult. A challenge mode if you will, lowering down time on monster attacks, disabling restocking, adding a minimum damage value to monster attacks, etc. At the moment to make low rank and high rank sufficiently challenging SOME players have to purposefully disengage from mechanics that are part of the Monster Hunter experience, offering a way to let them engage with these mechanisms while still gaining a challenge would be a good idea. The reasoning for this proposed mode are: It would SEEMINGLY be fairly easy to implement, the games already have these toggles(maybe not minimum damage) for event monsters so creating a single system that can be applied to all monsters should IDEALLY take even less time then making 3 event monsters. Out armouring monsters accidently has been very easy, but purposeful under armouring exposes players to unfun one hit feints. Restocking added via World has generally changed the entire Monster Hunter formula, making monsters super moves necessary as the attrition aspect of hunts has kind of vanished. These being the super moves that make playing under armoured less fun. Most of all I and at least some other players want to savour the early game, not skip threw it trying to get to harder content. The whole game should be fun not something to trudge threw to get to a difficulty level that matches the player. Ultimately I am more than happy for this to be a single player exclusive toggle. This would buff difficulty more in low rank, a little less in high rank and even less in master rank, but still making all ranks more difficult than before. While I agree that Rise was too easy(though I found ways to make it enjoyable, including a self imposed timer on wirebug dodges, and using spirit birds to modulate purposefully under levelled armour), I generally want a productive outcome and would prefer trying to push this difficulty toggle so we don't have this problem again. Plus I definitely consider base world far to easy as well and pinning this just on Rise I feel detracts from what ultimately is objectionable.
@robertmacfergus9288 solid write up dude. I want them to add a hardcore mode where you start a save file and if you car once your toon gets deleted and all progress removed (seperate from regular mode), this would be really make me happy. Diablo 4, 3 and 2 have this mode and so does Path of Exile 1 and 2. I want some sort of strict conditions. Or a mode where monster stats are higher than normal for the start of the game. And yeah I belive that modern day MH is just easier due to QoL but Rise took it too far for me.
from the fact that it's not really a true monster hunter game my dude. Great roster, great game on its own, but it's not a true monster hunter game. Way too easy and made for the ADHD Tiktok Zoomer crowd and too much anime too.
@@RathalosWatch I understand not liking it but saying it's not a true mh game is very insulting to the devs who put their heart and soul into making an enjoyable game for their community and honestly speaking, wirebugs didn't really ruin my experience. The only thing I didn't like was wyvern riding. Also, isn't most of the monster hunter fanbase gen z?
@aaronkinganimations9495 capcom is one of my favorite companies ever. Just because a developer poured their heart and soul into a game doesn't mean it's not free of criticism. As i said, Rise is a great game in its own right, Capcom considers it as a mainline title, but to me personally, i see it more of a spin-off and a solid one at that. It was made by their Mobile team by the way, not the core main team. Capcom has 2 teams working on two titles at once in case you didn't know. Anyways, Rise is just not your regular grounded Monster Hunter experience kike World of previous titles. And no, most MH fans are not Gen Z my dude. Monster Hunter was born in 2004 and there was no social media , youtube, tiktok, or anything like that. However World and Rise is what made Monster Hunter go mainstream. Previously it mostly had a cul following.
@aaronkinganimations9495 also, Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak in my opinion has a FAR FAR better roster of monsters than World does if you ask me. That's one big thing that I do love about Rise. Hopefully, Wilds will also be good and so far Wilds seems to be better than World's roster. I didn't like the monsters in World at all.
I can totally see him return since he was a beloved rise monster who didn't make a return in sunbreak. They could even make an angry variant as a title update similar to raging brachy or Mr fury monkey. I can't see him as an apex, but he'd fit perfectly as a grumpy ice bear. I'd also love to see you make like a their list of all the monster hunter games.

Great video! And you made a great point about the various mechanics of Rise making some monsters lose their feeling of intimidation. Rise/Sunbreak are my favorite games, but I would love to see many of the new Rise monsters come to Wilds so we can get their fights without the Wirebug assistance.
i just wish he would spend more time on all fours, him being mostly bipedal makes him feel waaayy too much like an actual Oni instead of an animal bear.
@RathalosWatch Fulgur is OK in my books, but what Anja really needs is a variant that really pushes him to his limits in a similar way that Raging Brachy does to Brachy.
I thought of a Goss subspecies or varient which lives in the swamp and instead of ice it spits amber or something onto his arms which hardens, and he can also spit it onto you causing you to get stuck (kinda like Rakna kadaki's webs) and then you could even give him bleed or something since the amber would be all jagged or something, idk I think they could do some really cool things with him in Wilds! (plus he's one of my favorits monsters)
I didn't even like Rise but he was my favourite monster from it. It should be harder though i feel like it's fighting style requires too much intelligence for it to be so easy.
the main problem with the cohoots in rise, is that it was just an excuse to tell you where the monster was. For no apparent reason. But if you could fly through the maps as the cohoots to find the monster first, I think it would have been really fun. I like the owls, but they just weren't really a part of the game, just an excuse - as I have said.
@chito2701 that won't happen with Wilds. Generations Ultimate was a celebration title of all the previous games put into one. In order for that to happen, we would need another celebration anniversary game, so maybe at the 25th or 30th anniversary they could make a new compilation collection with all the monsters.
As much as I'd love the whole series roster to return in wilds. Considering how many still need to be brought up from pre world games, it sounds like hell to make.
@@azure4622 lol yeah, it is a lot of work I am not gonna lie. @@RathalosWatch not really, I think in the context of a snowy mountain are it would make sense. I mean the apex of the desert area has a "Rail Gun" attached to his head.
@yaelcarrasquillo1675 true, but Rey Dau is also more primal looking than Goss Harag. Goss Harag has a face of an Oni demon which is from japanese mythology. Rise had more demonic designs that doesn't really fit the more grounded style of classical monster hunter which is what Wilds is. I hope Maganmelo doesn't come back. It looks way too out of place for Wilds asthetics.
Honestly with any ice monster that lives in cold areas mainly I will normally say yes but as of right now we only know 2 areas right now and no ice/snow map yet so I rather hold my breath till that is revealed
I agree that Rise telling you where the monster is was a bit much but the design philosophy of the portable team is rather different, it always has been. The key difference is it's portable games so it's geared toward people who are more busy so they can't sit down for longer game session as much but this allows them to get a hunt in during like a train commute or something. Yeah Rise's counter fetish was a bit much. A shame the other team didn't learn that and is giving us all these parries and Adept style stuff, as if the concept of us burning out form that being almost Rise's only gimmick is as foreign to them as us screaming at them in ancient Greek or presenting a power point in Egyptian hieroglyphics . I like this monster, not one of my favorites but I have immense respect for him... even if I'd have preferred a faster duel blades themed chimp like using the ketcha watcha skeleton over the 2 gs or gs and boxing glove bear. A shame the boxing glove doesn't do more and he didn't get a third kind of weapon in master rank. Having a new bear was still really nice. He was the favorite monster to hunt for my friend, who I got into the series with Rise. I'm curious about how that ranking will age with Wilds. Somnocanth also has a move exclusive to sleeping targets, I hope more monsters get these kinds of moves.
I really hope Goss Harag in Wilds will have turf wars with Barioth or other Ice Apex Predators because in Rise it only turf wars with Tetranadon, which is just sad… although I still like that turf war it’s just I wish Goss Harag has more unique turf wars instead of just one.
Well, there is hope of an ice area. Mh has a habit of only putting ice monsters in ice areas, and the switch axe weapon showcase had an insectoid looking switch axe that was ice element with a matching chinese style armor set.
I’m not fully sure if he should return- don’t get me wrong he’s my favorite monster from Rise period but his ice beam and double ground pound were built around wire bugs and would at least have to be reworked In addition, I’m not sure it would make a lot of sense for them to crossover given they seem to be a very specialized species- maybe a land bridge could help them get over but who knows
Nope, I don't want this guy back in Wilds. I thought he was perfect for the roster of Rise, but I don't think he suits Wilds from what I've seen thus far. I would prefer no snow laden land in Wilds, but rather a high altitude mountains area that can be snowed on, but not consistently full of snow. I think Gos Harag can come back in possibly an expansion or the next entry in the series.
@@RathalosWatch well. It was a savannah/desert and a jungle. Both of those are warm climates. Besides we’ve seen ice mosnters in things as deserts and its not good. Like that barioth varient..
personally, I dont think that any of the of new monster s from rise would fit into wilds, they're all too based on mythology to fit well in another game. Although, having the Almudron line replace jyuratodus line would be ok because I hate fighting lavasioth. Garangolm and Luangaron would be cool to see too, but other than that I think all the new monsters lore is too rooted in japaense mythology to fit into another monster hunter game.
@@RathalosWatch I like the Goss Harag fight. but I agree with what you said about capcom wanting a larger more intimidating monster to be the apex of a cold region.
@yeepman5412 lol yeah for sure. I wanna see a turf war between them. The only issue is I don't think a doshaguma would be in a winter/ice region. So I don't think it be possible unless there is a doshaguma or a Goss harag variant where they can be both in same locale.
I personally didn’t like Rise🫤 I loved MH World and Iceborne spent hundreds of hours on that game but I just couldn’t get on with Rise unfortunately. This monster is pretty cool though but I don’t mind if he returns or not I don’t think he will though🤷🏻♂️
@@RathalosWatch Because I think Wilds will be more of a grounded MH game like World, Rise is a bit of an advanced game with over the top monsters sort of thing so I feel like he won’t be suited for Wilds🤷🏻♂️ but who knows
@justedits95 I could see where you are coming from , maybe you are right. They would have to change Goss Harags' face a bit to make it more fitting. I'll tell you one monster that I definitely not wanna see in Wilds and that's Magnamelo. He looks like some sort of a samurai dog demon thing. 100% would not fit lol.
I like your videos, but you are speaking so fast that it's often hard to follow what you say. Make some pause between sentences and try a slower pace maybe :)
I'd love to have an ice region, but don't really care one way or another for this guy, I feel that oni design fit well for Rise, but might feel a little out of place in Wilds, I would like to see Gammoth return though, with the sheer size of the first map if they do the same with a potential ice area the giant would fit much better.
@Werax111 ahh that is true. He is, after all, inspired by mythology, whereas Wilds is a lot more grounded. Gammoth would need a big rework. She's a bit boring to fight if you ask me.
@@RathalosWatch Can definitely agree to that. I recall an interview of them saying she was too big to add, I just figured with the more open spaces Wilds seems to be going for it would be more viable.
@@Werax111 yeah the scale in Wilds is much bigger. As a matter of fact Capcom confirmed that each locale in wilds is as twice as big as it was in world. I have a high-res picture of the Windward Plains compared to the Wildspire Waste. Do you have discord? I'd love to show it to you - add me if you do name is Sytarak or try Syatrak#0000
@@RathalosWatch im feeling that goss was a little to much Yokai and tbh his gameplay for me was kinda boring .I would prefer to bring back blangonga and copper blango from fu and make them pack monsters.Btw do you believe that congalala will be a pack monster in this game?
@goddy3274 I could see both Blangonga and Congalala pack monsters. However, the pack mechanic would feature better for the Blangonga since he actually has a summon mechanic. But who knows, they can make a summon mechanic for Congalala too. If Rajang comes back, he would be solo imo.
Okay, well I was enjoy all of this until ya started go bash on Rise so hard. I can't watch someone that is gonna mock and make fun of a game just for being a bit eaiser. Goodbye
Lol. Rise is still a great game on its own, but it has a lot of issues and it just doesn't feel like a true monster hunter game due to how easy it is and some of its systems. If you aren't able to respect someone else's opinion then I cannot help you. You have to learn to accept differences. But yes, go ahead and threaten me cause I am very scared.
My monster I want back is [ drumroll pls ] cephadrome why cause it fits plus by now capcom could fix him because wilds is supposed to be new and i imagine him just swimming through the sand
@@Theteadinomaster200 oh i am gonna roast ya don't ya worry lol. In all seriousness though I feel like Balahara fills the role of a sand swimmer pretty good. Unless they want to make cephadrome a really low tier monster or something I don't see it working any other ways. Don't believe it will happen because Balahara is already a 2-star Village monster in Wilds. Cephadrome would need to be a 1-star in order for that to work.
I'm in a weird position here personally because I don't really like Goss Harag's visuals as a Monster Hunter creature. And that's mostly due to his face it makes him look like something out of a completely different RPG. It just looks too cartoony and on the nose for its visual design of an Oni monster. Something that isn't helped by how his ice powers work and look in game. Because not only do the ice blades just look utterly ridiculous, and has like no valid explanation for how they form the way they do every time. It's reaching levels of anime only seen in the Frontier games. I feel less like I'm looking at a Monster Hunter creature and more like I'm looking at some random guy in some elaborate Halloween costume from some enemy in a souls-like, like Nioh. I want to preface I don't dislike Goss Harag as a fight in a video game. Because he is fun to hunt, I just don't like his lack of congruence with it's spec evo design compared to other monsters in the mainline games. I'm not gonna sit here and say he shouldn't be in Wilds. Because obviously the more the merrier, but again PERSONALLY I think Rise has waaaaay better creature designs then Goss Harag that fit the vibe of Wilds so much more in my opinion. For instance Almudron, beautiful design both visually and mechanically. He looks like a believable animal, he moves in a believable way, and he effects the world in an infinitely more interesting fashion then Goss Harag with its mud mounds. That fits the big landscape manipulation theme of Wilds, with the weather patterns in a less extreme way but still offers just as big of an impact on you the hunter at that moment as well as any potential creatures in the area. Or hell even Bishaten, that could gain certain different fruits depending on the locale it's in similar to how Conga can change its farts depending on the mushrooms it eats. But instead of statuses it leans more into raw elements like ice, fire, water, or even dragon blight to give it a buff that isn't crazy over the top but still keeps your hunter on their toes.
Amazing write up my man. Love your insightful comment and honesty. Yeah, I can understand where you coming from in terms of Goss Harag's visual design not fitting into wilds. However, I think they can modify it just enough where his face is a bit different and more fitting/grounded. I personally do not like Amuldron as a fight. But yes, he is more grounded and realistic as far as a monster goes that could potentially exist in real life. I liked Bishaten, but Blood Orange Bishaten is a better design in my opinion in terms of mechanics and challenge. I hope they do bring him back as well. Also, it seems you are person who enjoys a good conversation and likes to debate and speculate. With that being said you really should join our community discord my man! @@RathalosWatch Thank you, ya I personally actually really like Almudron's fight. I'd go as far as to say he's definitely my favorite hunt in Rise mechanically. Because not only did they manage to make a mud monster that felt actually threatening in a really interesting way. But he was like also the only monster that actively has a counter to your hunter's wirebug ability spam nonsense in Rise. He's pretty much the only monster that felt like he was actually designed around the wirebug's existence in that game. So the flow of the hunt with him felt better paced then like basically every monster in that game barring Narwa. And maybe it's because I started my MH journey with 3U but his leviathan moveset just felt natural to me. Almudron was complex but I never felt like I was fighting an unfair monster. I'm gonna sound insane for saying this but Almudron was so well designed both as a creature visually, and mechanically I would have gladly taken him as the flagship of Rise over Magnamalo lmao. As for Bishaten I do agree Blood orange is mechanically a bit more interesting then Regular Bishaten. I just brought them up because I was thinking about monsters that could have a believable relationship with not just you the hunter but just world of Wilds in general. And regular Bishaten having more of a canon environmental relationship with the fruits it eats and hoards. He just made more sense, mechanically. But I do like Bakugou Bishaten lol.
@pigsmacker213 I am so happy Congalala is back. I am from the MHFU days so he holds a special place in my heart. Hopefully Emerald Congalala also joins in. I recent made a video on Blangonga too, it'd be weird too see Congalala in Wilds without Blangonga. They need to bring all the OG monkeys back for Wilds.

@@ikcurik yeah, his dope.

@@xeno991 yeah, I was surprised he didn't get one considering his popularity

@@deinonychus1948 would be interesting but I think Rey Dau is enough for an Apex predator thunder monster. Goss Harag needs his own thing. I'd say fire would be more fitting.
@@RathalosWatch true, but I was more thinking that the subspecies would be added in the expansion, and lets me real; this new Goss Harag wouldn't be using lightning to create fulgurite blades, he'd be using a much weaker thunder organ to do so and most importantly; he cannot launch the thunder element like Rey Dau, think of it as a Fulgar Anjanath but as a Fanged Beast
still, I get where you're coming from... but after Rise/Sunbreaks half dozen fire subspecies, I think they need to tone it down a bit lol
The reasoning for this proposed mode are:
It would SEEMINGLY be fairly easy to implement, the games already have these toggles(maybe not minimum damage) for event monsters so creating a single system that can be applied to all monsters should IDEALLY take even less time then making 3 event monsters.
I want to add that if this mode existed in Rise I would have liked it to make the cooldown for wirebugs longer.
Where the rise slander came from...
from the fact that it's not really a true monster hunter game my dude.
@@aaronkinganimations9495 umm no
@aaronkinganimations9495 capcom is one of my favorite companies ever.
