I really need to stand my ground here and make a statement about the pronouns of the songs that I cover, because I keep reading comments about how I should be changing the pronouns to fit me, etc etc.
I am going to say very firmly that I have never and will never change the pronouns of a song on this RUclips channel. I am telling the story of the person who wrote the song, and I do not find anything wrong with choosing to keep the song as it was written. This does not compromise my "internalization" of the lyrics. This does not mean that I don't mean what I'm singing about. It just means that I want to maintain the integrity of the original lyrics, and embody the story as it was written. That's what a storyteller does, and as a singer, storytelling is what I do. I don't normally get frustrated, but these comments about pronouns in 2021 are just tone deaf, insensitive, and very nitpicky. I will not tolerate any more negative commentary about gender pronouns on my videos going forward.

Sure I commented on this version one time before, but coming back to it again now. My dear dear wife and I danced our first song on the wedding hall dance floor to this ditty by Celine twenty years ago this October, 2024, and all these darn years later it still sends chills up and down my spine.This cover does it justice, but I could never carry this off as does this gentleman, in that I hear this song and it puts me back there on my wedding night at the Century House in Latham NY that October night in 2004. Bottom line, we are lucky the universe smacked us together, and here we are. Love is a grand adventure and anyone who is swept up in it for a life time is darn darn lucky IMHO. Cheers to all the lovers out there!!!!

This version of the song would work so well. Let me just add aswell, I was contemplating changing the pronouns if i was to put it in my show, but after your explanation of why you haven't and wouldn't i couldnt agree more. Does it matter if the song was originally directed towards a male but now sung by a man not in the slightest what shines is your incredible tone and ability to tell a story, and you've got that covered.
