I don`t know if this will help anyone else with there no start problem but my 2012 Prius was turning over to start but it was not getting any spark to the coils. It turned out to be that the crankshaft position sensor down by the flywheel was bad. I changed it with a non OEM sensor and it still did not work. Than through research, I found that it is best to install the OEM Toyota brand sensor, as soon as I did the car started right up. It cost about $90 for the sensor at Toyota and took about 10 minutes to install it. I hope this helps someone facing the same problem with their Prius.
Thank you for this! I am having an issue where I get in with key fob, depress brake, push power. The brake pedals “kicks” me and says it won’t start without being in park. I push park and try again but no luck. This is happening with all three of the fobs. Then when I get out of car with fob it gives a continuous ring that I can’t turn off. So I have to hieabe fob in car so it will stop ringing. Would love any thoughts! Thank you!
If doesn’t start sometimes there debris air intake and thus it needs certain amount airflow to overcome the parasitic loss of the motor at startup if doesn’t see the right airflow not want to start and trigger P3190 poor engine performance and flag a P0171

My Prius doesn’t have an alternator
2006 prius. Electronics come on and car shifts into neutral but not drive or reverse
Motor doesn't come on

I thought Prius don’t have an alternator?
Pruis don’t have an alternator starter the motor is the one that turn the engine
It’s actually MG1 and MG2 those one that take place instead of alternator in a normal car but since this a Prius doesn’t have one to begin with
Prius does not have an alternator
