why would the owner reach out privately at this point? even if there was unfinished business the fact that she racially attacked the owner there is nothing for them to work out together anymore.

The influencer lost my respect immediately when she started putting into question the Giselle's racial identity. Like, I'm sorry, latinos come in different shades and some latinos are black. Having her following harrass Giselle with racial insults is not the vibe, even if she felt slighted by Glamlite. Furthermore, she didn't even do any follow-up. I hope Glamlite never works with her again, because her behavior was ridiculous. She should've let her management team deal with this instead of acting a fool online

I may be wrong, but it seems like the content creator was promoting Glamlite of her own free will. While her content earned her money via tiktok shop, I don't feel it justifies Glamlite giving her additional commission on top of what she has already earned, especially if there was no contract that said she would. I believe it was an honest mistake, and I would have more than likely ignored any further messages I received if I felt I was being ignored. But to be honest, the creator comes off as having a "you need me, I don't need you" attitude. In the five months that she didn't hear anything, assuming that she wanted to work with them, she could have fired off at least one follow-up email, and all of this could have been avoided. What done is done at this point. She can choose to learn from this and work with those who will pay her what she feels she is worth.

Maybe it’s because I’m a person with a real job and not an influencer, but the idea of not just sending a follow up email when I’m receiving event invitations but not a response to a business email is absolutely wild to me. Emails get sent to wrong email addresses or saved to drafts all the time. Humans make mistakes, be an adult and follow up. What type of manager doesn’t send a follow up??? Also I’m sorry but if you’re making commission on unsponsored posts, then you’ve been fairly compensated for your work. To say she did “free promo” is so disingenuous. There's no two sides. If you want to be paid a certain amount, negotiate it. If you aren't getting paid what you want, don't do the reviews. You can't do the reviews if 15% of sales isn't enough for you and then demand more when you didn't even try to advocate that in the first place. That's not how it works. Influencer is just being greedy. Contracts, contracts, contracts. Think of any other job. I was a tattoo artist and said the tattoo will be 1k. After emailing back and forth The one owner agreed to send me the onesies. I waited months and months and heard nothing back. One day I just decided to email again to make sure that they were going to send the onesies or if they had a change of mine. Turns out the two owners hadn't talked to each other and my email had gotten lost. That doesn’t mean they go around and say oh hey this brand owes me now because I made them x amount of money. They get paid with the views they make. It’s just wild to me that Christian told them 15% isn’t her normal rate when she chose to make videos promoting their product. They don’t owe her anything more than what was already given. Literally anyone can become a Tik Tok affiliate.
I 💯 stand with Glamlite. They make good quality products and their collabs are always done well. Christian could’ve handled this better and not have her followers throw racial slurs at Giselle. My thing is I agree with a lot of the comments here, but she keeps throwing up that Gisselle is not "black" enough, like Idk that just seems super racist to me. So she is Afro Caribbean, so she is part Spanish and Part black, so she is not 100% black, but she did call her a colonizer, and I absolutely hate the fact she is putting her down for not being black enough. That just irks me. I'm part Native American but I just look "white", but Idc, I know what I am, and my other half is Black, like 100% black his parents were Jamaican and Barbadian they were black, but I'm darker than he is, and I think if I heard a woman like her tell him he was not black I'd probably just go off on her tbh. I think CC is money hungry and making this bigger than it is and she is showing her true colors and If I was a brand owner I'd never want to work with her.

She handled that situation so maliciously and so poorly and instead of being a grown up, she decided to lowball the GL owner and go after her features. Is this really what POC have to do to each other and play the white man’s game of dogging on each other because we pass or because we aren’t “full” or “pure” whatever that means? I’m P*al3stinian and it infuriates me to end when I see comments about content creators that say “well, this person’s only half, so they’re not really Pally enough.” Like no. The fact that the owner had to pause comments because of all the racially motivated harassment she was getting related to creators first post tells me all I would need to know about her future with Glamlite. She's never going to work with them again so her opinion on the company is negligible.
I feel like tiktok is its own ecosphere and has its own language and currency that doesn't exactly work in the real world. She's screaming at her camera that the owner didn't call her personally to suck up to her but she responded publicly AND aggressively twice.
As a recent customer of glamlite who is familiar with their indie status I sympathize with the creator but I think she also sensationalized it into unnecessary drama. I'd argue that her attempt to tear down a black woman and how they identify was worse than the owner not responding for multiple months. If she was talking about a campaign it would be one thing but she's asking to be paid more in commission retroactively for otherwise organic content.
I actually might argue that the Glamlite owner was a much easier person to attack than the luxury brands she features on her main content. I also wonder what demographic her audience is because I would find it hypocritical if she sent a bunch of white people from her audience to go attack a black woman

@@CarrieScnel0926 well from my limited impression as a casual internet viewer. I like to watch a lot of RUclipsrs who focus on indie makeup including Glamlite. They have definitely had their complaints with indie makeup brands but usually if they call one out its because it's a brand that they used to be associated with or stopped sending out makeup to customers or something.
They usually focus on maintaining good relationships and not talking about the ones they don't like. Consider the fact that they make relationships where they know the brand owner personally. I think she might get business but indie makeup has been trending recently and I'd imagine they wouldn't work with her. She's better off with ELF or Morphe or whatever.

That girl is a bit much. Wants to talk all she wants but then expects glamlite to not make a public response when she made it public. Then she says I’m not begging but you brought it up about not being compensated fairly in her opinion.
13,000 out of 92,000 is a lot. Brand owner and workers still have to be paid, not all that is profit, there is cost of goods, etc.
The sponsorship for making all the money would have been nice and may have happened if she didn’t show herself like this. She may feel super important but brands do so much they forget about certain people they have emailed (I assume).
Glam lite owner seemed pretty genuine while creator seemed very dramatic and “give me what I want. I am owed.”

I don't think this drama ever reached this level of public hate and fanning the flames. I don't know if she was seeking clout or if she truly is upset and the more that time goes on she feels annoyed she was in this position. Skeletim I think you did a good job at trying to remain objective. I agree with you that we can sympathize with the influencer, however Glamlite has receipts.
I personally think that the influencer has already been compensated, is now operating from a place of entitlement that isn’t due. Also the way she’s demonstrating her frustrations and grievances is very unprofessional and distasteful, and it may make other businesses take pause before collaborating with her. I think she knows how to add all the buzz words to unjustly make others triggered and upset with Glamlite. I think Glamlite took the high road and the influencer didn’t like that is now callling it “gaslighting” (buzz word).

The influencer is right for knowing her worth however as a professional there is a way to stand on business and still be cordial. I’m going to get my bag regardless of any miscommunication. Once the owner admitted to it being their fault for “leaving” the email in the drafts that’s when u and ur manager should of started to draft up y’all’s email re-iterating what all it is that you needed to go ahead and put the beef behind u. But she decided to keep adding wood to the fire by doubling down. Again nothing wrong with both sides defending themselves and standing on business but idk why she kept bringing in race when the owner is Dominican she’s of black decent, so doubling down on that part seems like she just wants to stir up some drama when the owner over here fessing up to the email “ mistake” idk they’re both a bit wrong in this situation I do agree all of this could have been avoided had the owner just reached out to her with what all had happened and then heard the influencer out.
