Offence in this game is so much harder and you sir, are a saint for helping people learn to score. Defensively the best advice I always give is to make your first step towards your own net (prevents odd man rushes). Gentlemen, go watch that video, it will make you a better player!! Also important to remember… you will likely get worse before you get better. That’s the nature of adjusting your gameplay. P.s. Sleeves I did my profile on a guy from my schools soccer team. 19:01 is exactly what i'm talking about man! There's beauty in not feeling like you have to CHASE cards or objectives at all times. I've enjoyed NHL25 the most because im playing less, BUT, playing HOW I WANT TO PLAY. There is no incentive to play 100 hours a week because the rewards are even across the board. Because of that, I've had more time to make my own way to play the game and ENJOY it like the VIDEO GAME it is. And better yet, if I'm burnt out or just want to do something else this weekend, I just skip HUT Champs. I think this is the best thing they've done for casual players - which as you said; make up 90% of the player base. We only ever hear the top 1-5% complain, but reality is, I bet you a lot of people are really enjoying this. Cheers man, appreciate all you're doing for the community.
The mentality on grinding games is so addicting and so bad for you. I’ve played mmorpgs that you have daily and weekly missions. Events. Bossing to do. I was going to bed at midnight cause I so badly want to get everything done. It’s was a more stressful job then my current job. Until I had to make a change and now I have to commit to not playing. It feels harder to not play than it is to not max out. You have to go against your wiring
Yo sleeves having some unfortunate life events keeping me from being able to enjoy the grind during the best event. I’m gonna make draisaitl as he’s my favorite player but also know how valuable that chara is. Will have to upgrade with coins in the coming weeks.What are some good ways to farm coins for us who can’t play more than 5 hours per week
Whatever tradeable packs you get make sure to put basically all 75+ cards on the auction house. I know it’s not exactly fun, but if you really want to maximize coins, grinding objectives on semi-pro squad battles may be the best way. Also moments can be very valuable in relation to actual playing time, so I would do those too.
Wild card is terrible. Would love if they didn’t get rid of rush. Was way better. Wild card is so sluggish. I recommend for people to get penalties in the mode, because as a short handed team, you get three lines to change too, the team with the power play only had 2. The energy in the mode dies down wayyyyyy to fast and players are drained after 1 min of play. I get 80% of my goals short handed in wildcard. Stupid I know, but it works.
I agree this Fantasy Event is GREAT... So question, do you think EA will add something in the S2 XP Path to make it a bit cheaper to make Holograms and Xfactors, for example you need 24 76+ to make 1 power up icon.. And you need 12 in total, and with the price they are now (6.5K roughly)) (6500*24= 156 000 and 156*12 is 1.872 million coins...) And with the lack luster rewards I have a feeling it will be more and more expensive... For example that SuperCharged McDavid is at like 7 million from Scratch.. And with S2 Super Charged Xfactors dropping soon I have a feeling that will also increase (38*5500= 209 000; 209 000 * 8= 1.672 Million for 1 Captaincy Xfactor: 1672 000*4= 6.688 Million) Sorry for all the math lol, Keep up the great work

Hey sleeves first of all love the vids perfect background while grinding objectives. Secondly I started late this year and I don’t have that big of a collection so I made the 16 collectible bnd set. I have gotten all of the free collectables for week two should I use the rest of my collection and most of my coins to make one of the 40 collectable sets this week or use my collection to make some of the supernatural players such as chara, karalson, or draisitial. Anyways thanks if you read this keep up the good work ❤
fantasy and supernatural are big W event, i love it despite everyone rocking chara! I have 5 cards this year i am very invested in bad teams like those pesky Flyers The issue with specific players for sets was the flames back i nthe day had Brian McGratten selling for 17.5k despite being like a 75s and 75s were under 2k sleeves "i didnt play HUT champs this week" me " oh man i need my mike green that doesnt make my team. better go hate champs this week"
If you are a 8-10 win player in hut champs is it worth playing when you have minimal time to play the longer games. I'd rather play shorter periods in rivals to get my 30 weekly wins instead but I'd like to hear a second opinion.
Play only the weeks you really want and have time to complete the Champs games. It's the good part of this year's NHL. The modes are not chores anymore.

Ekholm is getting to 99 for sure. He is going to start getting more PP time as PP1 still tries to find their groove. Plus Arvidsson and J.Skinner are pushing for more opportunities. Plus Meta size and with slow progression he is already a good card.

You can look at your online record by going to rivals, hit the left bumped to leader boards and it’s only your online for rivals record not your squad battles
Bonjour Sleeves from the UK! Thanks for helping out with HUT selection over the past couple of years, I’ve been tuning in since 22. As it’s a WSYC series, I want to throw my hat in the ring for Adam Fox XF Captain. I’ve been concentrating on getting McDavid and I did Nylander first (being a part time Toronto fan) and he’s been… OK so far. With the help of packs in the store and actually going out to snipe some cards to do the others, I had enough to make a 2nd. Being from the UK, I watch mostly east coast games because of time difference and with the new Chara, I passed on Heiskanen and built Fox. I have Makar and Chara on L1, shock. And Fox with Guhle on L2. And I just wanted to say that he has been unreal for me. He feels a lot smother than Makar even when Makar has EE activated. Fox does struggle occasionally to knock players off the puck but with the impact of D men in the offensive zone, he’s been awesome. He’s got that NHL24 trait of burning up the boards too. He just seems to be everywhere on the ice and I can’t help but play everything through him. I think if I was to make the captains again from the start, Heiskanen and Fox are the MUST makes in my opinion. Keep up the good work and thanks for the strategies video, it’s really improved my gameplay!
Hi sleeves, love the content, I noticed this year pressure system is working differently and its quite annoying. Not only it fills up ridiculously fast, but also it decays very slow. For example, opponent gets into your zone, shoots 3 times and the pressure meter is almost full, you get out before its full, you counter attack, actually lock your oponent in their zone, get your own pressure meter full, apply pressure lets say for 20-25 sec, they get out, counterattack, enter your zone, shoot once and now their pressure meter is full, that makes no sense to me. Atleast last year, you had to work in order to get the pressure system to trigger. Now, you change your 4th line to your 1st, opponent enters your zone on counterattack and shoots 1 shot on net and now your 1st line is cooked even if you get out of the zone quick and break/release the pressure in your zone. I guess this was more of an comment than question.

Was just thinking the other day about when every other question in who should you choose said no money spent besides the “x” amount of money spent at launch christmas etc. It got me curious if that meme just died or if your NAD series turned the majority of listeners into no money spent players.
Pro tip: In wildcard u can use 85 supernatural cards for 1m salary. The 84 Dubois also can be set for 1m as well as a few others ive seen. However you will not be able to adjust your lines when your team is set as the cards will go to their proper values and your team will be way over the salary cap, but still usable.
Once they in my wildcard lineup n I enter, it appears to save for me but then I can’t play cuz I’m over the cap. Cap seems to adjust once I submit team, at least for me, idk
The way around this is to sub in your WC players with cheaper ones and then you can sub them back in for the salary they originally were when you did your draft
I literally just finished my wildcard with a team that was well over 10 million above the salary cap. All u gotta do is not mess with the lines once u draft the team it's not difficult. The gamebreaker and supernatural cards all seem to be at 1mil regardless of overall but will switch to their proper values if you attempt to edit lines.
I also miss the 10 divisions 😅 but I'm happy to hear im not the only one experiencing tough competition.. we have the old generation console players who are NOW mashed into our next gen console player population.. so it makes sense why we lost some division ranking
Hey Sleeves! 1st time HUT player and recently tuned in as I was literally recommended from Coast to Coast Canada to watch your content (1 friend Vancouver, 1 friend in Halifax). Was great to be on stream the other day for the first time and listen to the NHL 25+Health stuff as it somehow motivated me to get back into working out. My question: As you know, it's easy to get coins in this game. It's great to grind and play the game. I bought the X-Factors (red/yellow) packs and was at about $280k ish. However, I was also imminent (or could've gotten) to players like McDavid, MacKinnon, or my personal favorite Auston Matthews. Going forward, would you recommend to keep saving your coins for packs like those X-Factors (or other good value packs) or get those base cards like a McDavid or Matthews? Hi Sleeves, thanks for your videos and help with the HUT. Your strategy video also helped a lot. I'm a solid DIV 2 player (1890-1950) but can't make the jump to DIV 1. I've also had a lot of problems in Champs this week. 4 of my 9 losses came with 30 seconds to go because my players were so tired that even switching wasn't possible. Do you have any tips on how I can switch my lines more cleverly so that I'm not constantly defending with tired players? I also drew Sanheim from the 16 token pack. Would you put him as RD1 before Chara and Heiskanen? Much love from Germany for you and your fam!

I ended up going against your advice and made OEL who ended up scoring later that day. So far playing with the card his shot is always getting tipped or goes in clean, safe to say I’m enjoying my choice. I’m a little disappointed with the selection of Crouse for Utah when players like Schmaltz and Cooley were great options, but I’ll get him anyway and just hope he scores. On to my question. Is it worth it to buy the 600k coin fantasy pack (I have 700K) to see if I get Crouse? I will have enough collectibles to make one of my choice anyway but this would guarantee myself 3 fantasy cards. If I were to pull Crouse, I would have free range at any of this weeks options to make with my collectibles
7:10 Why the hell did they remove the storage set? It was such a simple, needed addition and I was pumped when they added it. I would also like them to add the ability to skip X-Factor and Icon packs.
Sleeves, your comment at 17:14 is an interesting one to hear. I am strictly an offline player, I know I'm terrible online so I don't even try and I'm okay with that. Being that I'm an offline player means that I can focus more on the cards I want and not the cards that I need to have to be competitive. I don't know if this is how other offline players feel, but I don't feel pressure to chase everything and try to be the best of the best. I look at the cards that I want target them and go for them.
hey sleeves what’s your opinion on the daily hatrick cards? I’m going for a theme team so the cards are basically useless down the line. do you think more will be released from different teams. I wish there was more options with the players since it’s themed more about cards and less about packs
Wild card and what ever I can accomplish in moments takes up most of my game time. I find HUT focuses too much on making you play with out the team you play to build in wildcard and moments. You have to play these modes to get anywhere. Will the 2 min periods of rivals return? Which is the better way to go Rivals or hut champs? Rivals doesn't seem to do anything other than get XP points. Hi, I would like to ask your opinion about the fantasy event please. It is great to able to have 2 random players but will it break Hut this year? It seems that multiple cards will be 90+ soon which with the slow progression will make it impossible for anybody who get the game in December or not got those players to compete? Hey sleeves. I used up all my resources and coins so I was able to buy both bnd fantasy cards as well as have enough for Backlund( flames fan). I also made both jagr and Chara and got both to 85 overall. I essentially zero’d out my collection. And coins. With how some of the specialty packs have been did I make a mistake? I’m happy with my purchases but should I have saved some for future xfactor packs Also. Are there any packs in the store i should use my remaining 1550 preorder pucks. i bought out all the previous xfactor packs... Thanks!

This is my third year playing, made JT Miller(1 of 3)random fantasy player in 24which i had never done but had made miller my first msp the year before. This made me watch late games and scoreboard watch Vancouver As an isles fan that is borderline sacrilege, he’s now known as a Canuck more than as a Ranger(who I ended up really liked playing with but the stamina killed his 99). He is 6'7" and 77. Would he play better than a 6'4" inch goalie wirh 81 Speed? Is Hildeby the tallest goalie in the game ?
I was the average offline player who was afraid to try Rivals. Last year They made the HUT champs rewards so good I finally tried Rivals and Hut champs when I qualified. I lost a lot but with the Hut tokens I could save up and get Jumbo packs. With the HUT rewards this year there is no reason for me to take a beating in Rivals/HUT champs as I’ll never get 10 wins. It’s too bad EA doesn’t recognize that their reward system gives me no insensitive to challenge myself and try online

I hit at least 1600 I’m div 3 idky I can’t get better when I’ve played hockey but I can’t play it as a video game for some reason..in 20 I was in the top 10 for CHEL for a day but then found HUT and that’s when I found out about you should I start streaming this because I have so many hours in this game an year or should I not even care because I’m the same as you when it comes to the addiction of this game (in general) and family life with a full time job

Yo! I played HUT a few years ago when you could put forwards on defense, but I quit and since then I played FUT because it felt easier for a casual like me. I enjoy hockey more than soccer and want to get back into HUT. I’m a dad now and have less time and the learning curve feels hard to master NHL again. Is it worth buying the game and play casual offline only HUT learning the game again? I will probably miss out on entire fantasy event, will it be too late to start? I want like a casual approach to hut collecting sharks players (also sharks fan like u). I’m just worried that I’m too old to learn it again. I played hybrid and was playing bare minimum and nothing fancy at all with dekes etc. I think I need a bare minimum guide to hut for beginners 🙈😂🤷🏽♂️
With the playoffs thing I said that on a previous episode. EA introduced that in College Football 25 and that made the game amazing! I’m not even a big football ultimate team player but that made the game so worth it plus the rewards were great if you won the national championship. I am glad EA is doing instant rewards minus champs. All and all I actually feel this has been one of the better years of HUT. Most won’t agree but I think the only way EA missed the mark this year is lack of rewards. Game play is good, the market is fun to work (very diluted now due to more packs) a lot of good challenges to help with xp path and good items from moments.

Dashboarded the 1st pack to make sure I got no dupes. I decided to gamble, bought the 3rd pack and ended up with no dupes. I am now only 2 XFactors away from making my 2nd captain as a FTP player. It's funny, I know I'm in the minority but I really like Wildcard. The 3 minute games are fun and quick. I really don't like being locked into a 20minute Rivals games. Life is busy and having to lock in for 20+ minutes just doesn't appeal to me.

Ummm won my last game of HC and it gave me a loss? Has anyone else been given a loss when you won? I can pull up my last 20 games of HC and literally count the wins (11-8-1) but again it gave me a loss (10-9-1)..... Not that it matters because I was just gonna get a mini dog shit pack anyways.
ea nhl content is so NA focused. it's a joke to us europeans to see every 4th liner from NA junior teams getting cards every week. last ok euro content was like NHL20

Saw a video where a RUclipsr( Dinokrista) saved a week 1 fantasy pack. Went to open it when week2 started and EA shifted her week 1 pack to week 2

You can look at your online record by going to rivals, hit the left bumped to leader boards and it’s only your online for rivals record not your squad battles

As it’s a WSYC series, I want to throw my hat in the ring for Adam Fox XF Captain. I’ve been concentrating on getting McDavid and I did Nylander first (being a part time Toronto fan) and he’s been… OK so far. With the help of packs in the store and actually going out to snipe some cards to do the others, I had enough to make a 2nd. Being from the UK, I watch mostly east coast games because of time difference and with the new Chara, I passed on Heiskanen and built Fox. I have Makar and Chara on L1, shock. And Fox with Guhle on L2. And I just wanted to say that he has been unreal for me. He feels a lot smother than Makar even when Makar has EE activated. Fox does struggle occasionally to knock players off the puck but with the impact of D men in the offensive zone, he’s been awesome. He’s got that NHL24 trait of burning up the boards too. He just seems to be everywhere on the ice and I can’t help but play everything through him. I think if I was to make the captains again from the start, Heiskanen and Fox are the MUST makes in my opinion.

Hi sleeves, love the content, I noticed this year pressure system is working differently and its quite annoying. Not only it fills up ridiculously fast, but also it decays very slow. For example, opponent gets into your zone, shoots 3 times and the pressure meter is almost full, you get out before its full, you counter attack, actually lock your oponent in their zone, get your own pressure meter full, apply pressure lets say for 20-25 sec, they get out, counterattack, enter your zone, shoot once and now their pressure meter is full, that makes no sense to me. Atleast last year, you had to work in order to get the pressure system to trigger. Now, you change your 4th line to your 1st, opponent enters your zone on counterattack and shoots 1 shot on net and now your 1st line is cooked even if you get out of the zone quick and break/release the pressure in your zone. I guess this was more of an comment than question.

Pro tip: In wildcard u can use 85 supernatural cards for 1m salary. The 84 Dubois also can be set for 1m as well as a few others ive seen. However you will not be able to adjust your lines when your team is set as the cards will go to their proper values and your team will be way over the salary cap, but still usable.
Once they in my wildcard lineup n I enter, it appears to save for me but then I can’t play cuz I’m over the cap. Cap seems to adjust once I submit team, at least for me, idk

The way around this is to sub in your WC players with cheaper ones and then you can sub them back in for the salary they originally were when you did your draft
I literally just finished my wildcard with a team that was well over 10 million above the salary cap. All u gotta do is not mess with the lines once u draft the team it's not difficult. The gamebreaker and supernatural cards all seem to be at 1mil regardless of overall but will switch to their proper values if you attempt to edit lines.
Pulling OEL has made me check in with Toronto games to see if he scored so that is true. I normally wouldn't check other teams
I also miss the 10 divisions 😅 but I'm happy to hear im not the only one experiencing tough competition.. we have the old generation console players who are NOW mashed into our next gen console player population.. so it makes sense why we lost some division ranking
Hey Sleeves! 1st time HUT player and recently tuned in as I was literally recommended from Coast to Coast Canada to watch your content (1 friend Vancouver, 1 friend in Halifax). Was great to be on stream the other day for the first time and listen to the NHL 25+Health stuff as it somehow motivated me to get back into working out.
My question: As you know, it's easy to get coins in this game. It's great to grind and play the game. I bought the X-Factors (red/yellow) packs and was at about $280k ish. However, I was also imminent (or could've gotten) to players like McDavid, MacKinnon, or my personal favorite Auston Matthews.
Going forward, would you recommend to keep saving your coins for packs like those X-Factors (or other good value packs) or get those base cards like a McDavid or Matthews?

I'm a solid DIV 2 player (1890-1950) but can't make the jump to DIV 1. I've also had a lot of problems in Champs this week. 4 of my 9 losses came with 30 seconds to go because my players were so tired that even switching wasn't possible.
Do you have any tips on how I can switch my lines more cleverly so that I'm not constantly defending with tired players?
I also drew Sanheim from the 16 token pack. Would you put him as RD1 before Chara and Heiskanen?

I ended up going against your advice and made OEL who ended up scoring later that day. So far playing with the card his shot is always getting tipped or goes in clean, safe to say I’m enjoying my choice.
I’m a little disappointed with the selection of Crouse for Utah when players like Schmaltz and Cooley were great options, but I’ll get him anyway and just hope he scores.
On to my question. Is it worth it to buy the 600k coin fantasy pack (I have 700K) to see if I get Crouse? I will have enough collectibles to make one of my choice anyway but this would guarantee myself 3 fantasy cards. If I were to pull Crouse, I would have free range at any of this weeks options to make with my collectibles
7:10 Why the hell did they remove the storage set? It was such a simple, needed addition and I was pumped when they added it. I would also like them to add the ability to skip X-Factor and Icon packs.
Sleeves, your comment at 17:14 is an interesting one to hear. I am strictly an offline player, I know I'm terrible online so I don't even try and I'm okay with that. Being that I'm an offline player means that I can focus more on the cards I want and not the cards that I need to have to be competitive.
I don't know if this is how other offline players feel, but I don't feel pressure to chase everything and try to be the best of the best. I look at the cards that I want target them and go for them.
hey sleeves what’s your opinion on the daily hatrick cards? I’m going for a theme team so the cards are basically useless down the line. do you think more will be released from different teams. I wish there was more options with the players since it’s themed more about cards and less about packs
Wild card and what ever I can accomplish in moments takes up most of my game time. I find HUT focuses too much on making you play with out the team you play to build in wildcard and moments. You have to play these modes to get anywhere. Will the 2 min periods of rivals return?
Which is the better way to go Rivals or hut champs? Rivals doesn't seem to do anything other than get XP points.

Hey sleeves. I used up all my resources and coins so I was able to buy both bnd fantasy cards as well as have enough for Backlund( flames fan). I also made both jagr and Chara and got both to 85 overall. I essentially zero’d out my collection. And coins. With how some of the specialty packs have been did I make a mistake? I’m happy with my purchases but should I have saved some for future xfactor packs

This is my third year playing, made JT Miller(1 of 3)random fantasy player in 24which i had never done but had made miller my first msp the year before. This made me watch late games and scoreboard watch Vancouver As an isles fan that is borderline sacrilege, he’s now known as a Canuck more than as a Ranger(who I ended up really liked playing with but the stamina killed his 99). I was the average offline player who was afraid to try Rivals. Last year They made the HUT champs rewards so good I finally tried Rivals and Hut champs when I qualified. I lost a lot but with the Hut tokens I could save up and get Jumbo packs. With the HUT rewards this year there is no reason for me to take a beating in Rivals/HUT champs as I’ll never get 10 wins. It’s too bad EA doesn’t recognize that their reward system gives me no insensitive to challenge myself and try online

I hit at least 1600 I’m div 3 idky I can’t get better when I’ve played hockey but I can’t play it as a video game for some reason..in 20 I was in the top 10 for CHEL for a day but then found HUT and that’s when I found out about you should I start streaming this because I have so many hours in this game an year or should I not even care because I’m the same as you when it comes to the addiction of this game (in general) and family life with a full time job

I played HUT a few years ago when you could put forwards on defense, but I quit and since then I played FUT because it felt easier for a casual like me. I enjoy hockey more than soccer and want to get back into HUT. I’m a dad now and have less time and the learning curve feels hard to master NHL again. Is it worth buying the game and play casual offline only HUT learning the game again? I will probably miss out on entire fantasy event, will it be too late to start? I want like a casual approach to hut collecting sharks players (also sharks fan like u). I’m just worried that I’m too old to learn it again. I played hybrid and was playing bare minimum and nothing fancy at all with dekes etc. I think I need a bare minimum guide to hut for beginners 🙈😂🤷🏽♂️
With the playoffs thing I said that on a previous episode. EA introduced that in College Football 25 and that made the game amazing! I’m not even a big football ultimate team player but that made the game so worth it plus the rewards were great if you won the national championship. I am glad EA is doing instant rewards minus champs.
All and all I actually feel this has been one of the better years of HUT. Most won’t agree but I think the only way EA missed the mark this year is lack of rewards. Game play is good, the market is fun to work (very diluted now due to more packs) a lot of good challenges to help with xp path and good items from moments.

Dashboarded the 1st pack to make sure I got no dupes. I decided to gamble, bought the 3rd pack and ended up with no dupes. I am now only 2 XFactors away from making my 2nd captain as a FTP player.

It's funny, I know I'm in the minority but I really like Wildcard. The 3 minute games are fun and quick. I really don't like being locked into a 20minute Rivals games. Life is busy and having to lock in for 20+ minutes just doesn't appeal to me.
