And that’s the joy of showing - The first set of marks were very harsh but at least she was consistent across the class - a set pattern would be preferred for me then the judge is comparing apples to apples - the confirmation part - it is my understanding that each horse must be measured against the breed standard and any blemishes should not affect the mark that much Willows blemishes are not that bad and very minor - I would work on the pattern and set myself a pattern that can be adjusted - you were right to say you should have continued on that LR canter, a break like that goes against his obedience and submission - interesting that’s you scored higher at the show with the most professional riders - it’s a learning curve and Willow is lovely just keep enjoying the ride and gain as much experience as you can 😊
Yes I totally agree that it should be a set show so then the judge is comparing everyone equally. The conformation side is very hard, as what one judge seems a fault another judge may overlook, but that’s showing for you. I will just keep going out, having fun and learning along the way xx
Hi Karen. I was at the same show in the HOYS Dales class and the Judge gave low marks across the board in that class too. Well done. I watched some of the D class and it was huge.
Yes I think some sort of marks should be given at every show, Definitely always ask for feedback, local shows are where we all start and learn, Thank you xx

Yes it was lovely to see such a big turnout in lots of the classes x
Harsh marks. !! Yes a video on conformation would be fab karen.x
Perfect yes I will get that sorted xx
Showing is a lot more difficult than i imagined.😮
Yes there is a lot more to showing then people think,
Such a hard discipline to do x
There should be more detailed tick lists on the marking sheet. Yes like dressage. And all do the same show.
Yes that’s how I think it should be done best so then we can see what we need to work on to improve x
I wish they did this at local shows! Sometimes the judges don't even give any comments but next time ill ask for some feedback. Willow is lovely 😍
