- The JCRG2001 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2020. It is crafted in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line. The JCRG2001 is a spot model which is sold exclusively by select Japanese and European music retailers.
The JCRG2001 features a 4mm thick exotic maple top on an alder body bolted to a maple and purpleheart neck with a birdseye maple fingerboard with 24 frets with hemispherical fret end treatment and mother of pearl dot position markers. The headstock has the same exotic maple veneer the top. Components include DiMarzio pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, recessed Easy Access control knobs, Gotoh tuning machines and Gotoh Free-Lock II strap pins.
This model is available in two gradient finishes - an orange-red finish that evokes a burning flame inspired by the fire-breathing spirit "Salamandra" and a blue finish that evokes flowing water, inspired by the spirit that controls water, "Undine". In each case the gradient of the finish is extended onto the fretboard with a dye. Just three examples of each finish were produced originally,[1][2] but production was later increased when the guitar was introduced for Europe.

Ok, listen up. I watch a LOT of guitar channels while working at home all day, 7 days a week. I can say unequivocally that you RULE everyone out there in RUclips land when it comes to guitar prowess. And of all the guitars I’ve seen you play, I can’t remember seeing one draw the reactions out of you (while playing) that this Ibanez did. Exquisite! I'm really not a huge fan of how the guitar looks past the velvety finish on the body, but damn, you've made it sound amazing.

This is one of a handful in existence. So far, I have seen photos and videos of five. This one looks more purple and green than the other ones, which look bluer. A couple of corrections though: The tuners are Gotoh, it doesn't have flamed maple binding on the body, but rather a natural binding effect by leaving that part unfinished to showcase the natural beauty of the top and add contrast, the dot inlays aren't abalone, but mother of pearl, the top in this case clearly is qulited maple, while in the official description is just says exotic maple top, as they vary, and it also has has Gotoh strap locks. Great playing, and this one looks gorgeous. I am currently ogling one myself. Really hoping to get it.

I have always steered clear of Floyd Rose equipped guitars due to a bad experience with one when they first became available in the UK, the Ibanez I bought that had one just would not stay in tune, because it was so new no one knew anything about them, the guitar was sold and I have never played one since.

Very nice playing, sounds really good, classic pickup combo. The regular J Custom Super Wizard HP neck is 17 First fret and 19 Twelfth fret. For me, a little too thin... This one is asymmetric, and 17 First 20.5mm at twelfth Fret. a little thicker :D. If it was a African Mahogany they weight a ton, If you try another J Custom with Mahogany you'd see. I think this one is a keeper Jon, what do you think hahahaha. I am glad you also have Ibanez this time, and hopefully more Ibanez you will have.

Your playing seemed appropriately like Bruce Lee’s saying, “You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”
Yes, what you poured into that Ibanez made it drip and crash (“dive bombed”?😄), until your melodies became fluid as water.🙏😌🎶✨

First of all I would say: your playing is fantastic. As always. Second: I love RG. Third: the look of this beast is stunning. But… the sound is really disappointing. If I close my eyes I could tell you’re playing my RG 970, it’s completely original so nothing special and I paid less then 1k. Imho it’s unacceptable. Anyway thank you for the video. Cheers
