No more having to take off and fly out of armistice range before you can load your weapon rack or give a fellow player a gun or even just test out weapon fire rate, recoil and spread!
I'd love to see a purchasable 4 SCU sized gun rack/weapon locker that snaps to cargo grids. It'd make moving weapon kits between locations much easier (as well as letting us build our own armories in our personal hangars).
While I really won't be doing a ton of shipping related stuff, I do recognize how important it is to the game as a whole. Inventory management branches into every aspect of the game.
I'm not sure about it, having "load/unload" from ground zero doesn't make logistic sense for bigger ships, I can get behind it for small ships sure, but in real life loading and unloading for large ships would most definitely happen slightly above atmosphere level to cut down on fuel and travel time, cargo would then be using a "space elevator" or some sort of platform that transports goods to and from space/ground, people often refer to this as building as a "space port", SC doesn't seem to be going on that route, which is a little of an immersion killer imo, not a huge deal
How about showing weapons with their attachments in the storage display so we can tell which of our dozen P4-ARs are equipped with which goodies? Also, when selling said weapons, include the sell price of the attachments and not just the base price of the weapon.
i hope they allow sets. set up favorite load outs for different things. so instead of looking through everything every time you just select your favorite load out and it all shows up in one click.

Pretty sure they actually want you to travel around the stations. They don't want you to be able to do everything in your hangar. Maybe a compromise could be a "convenience" fee. Can connect to the station's shops and commodity traders, but it will cost 10-20% more to buy and will sell for 10-20% less than if you went to the place yourself.
I know there's a seemingly infinite number of things to get done in this game's ongoing development, but I really wish that the Carrack (and any other ship that doesn't work with this new cargo system) could have gotten the necessary work to allow for manual cargo loading. It was released with a ton of asterisks from CiG years ago with the assurance that the ship would get some more modelling/design work, yet nothing has changed. No manual cargo loading because the cargo boxes don't open, no second method of ground entry (the rear elevator really should be an option for this), no cockpit glass shields (and the appropriate gameplay), and apparently no Jump Point arms when Jump Points soon become relevant.
So let me get this right. You have to land at a location, then store your ship (maybe), travel to the TDD - which takes several minutes - to sell the cargo, get back on the transit, go back to the hangar, recall your ship (assuming you have to store it), to then unload it to get paid..? Glad to see CIG are really taking efficency and player enjoyment into account. I guess it'd be a completely insane idea to be able to sell from the hangar itself from a special TDD terminal, saving people literally 10 minutes of their life on every single cargo sell. @pIaydagames you can get to them however you can not get cargo out of them in any meaningfully way. Because as of current the rear elevator is too small and the rear " opening" is also yo small to get a full cargo bay out of.
@RasakBlood you can look at the cargo, you can even shuffle it around the bay a bit for all the good that does you. But what you can't do is get it out of or into the ship. So fir now, these ships should get a reduced auto-timer and fee until CIG makes the cargo accessible for loading and unloading.
I´d love to get something between loot crates and 1scu containers with configurable labels to keep my gear sets in order. And maybe dummies for those suits that look cool but will definetly never be used
i dont know how its implemented atm, but it makes sense to me that the automatic loading takes about as long as it would a single player. you are practically paying someone to load your ship while you go and do other stuff. i also wouldnt object to the ability to load 2, 3, or 4 times faster by paying 2, 3, or 4 guys to load the ship. time is money, so money should save you time.
In 2024, people buy and sell goods via an app on their smartphone. In the year 2954 in SC you have a Mobiglass, but after landing you have to walk awkwardly to the trading terminal to complete the deal and then back to the hangar.
Nice you buy a shirt at Amazon and it materialize at your home? Crazy! In my country im able to buy with apps but to get it it is hmmm let me think...it is still the way like since ever in trading. It needs to be moved from point a to b to get it.
for stores that would make sense but for trading it really wouldn't. Modern truckers use dispatchers/Qualcomm to communicate, never themselves. But an api is promised to monitor the market, but I'd be suprised if we see it within 5 years, it would require a complete game.
@@665Jan83 A) this isn't "the real world," this is a GAME. B) I already moved the stuff from point A, the origin point's cargo elevator, manually with a magic tractor beam that makes everything weightless, up through the atmosphere with a magic reusable single-stage-to-orbit craft, then through space to point B using magic faster-than-light drives, back in to the atmo without burning up my magic ship because it has magic invulnerable (but only to reentry thermodynamics) heat shields, then off my ship back to another cargo elevator with the same magic tractor beam...and you're going to tell me that having a computer in the hanger to be able to do the trading contract is somehow going to break immersion? If anything, _not_ having that kind of element is immersion-breaking, since we have that kind of technology today. You didn't think the people moving real cargo in real life still have to run paper forms back and forth did you? It's all electronic, mostly done on tablets, not unlike the magic Mobiglass.
Instead of stripping corpses then moving all the gear towards a box / ship storage then to a storage at a city/port, you think I can just have a giant pile of geared corpses in my hangar?
I do hope they've gone through all the cargo grids and made them sensible, because some ships can definitely be felt they were designed with the old cargo system in mind and are very hard to manually load/unload, or use a weird mix of boxes to fill it.... But perhaps they have because the loading of the C2 they showed filled up differently than it does on the PU so... Suppose we'll see...
Huge bravo to CIG for making such an INCREDIBLE update! This is legitimately the first time in the verse where we have an actual home of our own to go to. Cargo looks AMAZING, and the wait times are perfectly suited to SCU crate size from the values shown. The ability to store commodities and wait for demand (looking at you RMC) is INCREDIBLE. It makes salvaging so, so much more effective. This is the patch of our dreams, and it’s so, so worth the wait.
I hope it's worth the wait. Because everyone will be doing much more waiting. But hey. More timesinks = making less money = more time to earn to buy in game = more people using real cash to jump the queue. Cos immersion.
Im willing to bet its on the table but probably not with the persistent hangars. That strikes me as more of a base building customization thing they will put in when we can actually start to make our own bases.
Oh the ability to draw your weapons/tools and even use it in your hangar is great. I'm glad CIG listened to the suggestions (or perhaps it was they wanted to test it anyway). Anyway that solves multiple issues at once. Hope it'll work out fine and stay in the long run!

I like the idea of returning to my personal hangar and being able to decorate it again, especially at *_Christmas!_** :D* Good ISC although i miss those programs where CIG told us about *more than one thing* .
Not likely. Here is a dilemma I have seen over the years. People begged CIG to release the Carrack. So they did, without all the ships systems and mechanics being fleshed out in game. Now that more of those have been added, players are asking CIG to rework the Carrack for an update to modern systems and functions. At least they got their Carrack though, right? Rush the BMM out now, only to have to rework it later, or wait until more ship stuff is polished out, and release it in a better functional state? A decision for those who have the privilege of being in charge have to make. If you were in charge, what decision would you make? And remember, this ship is to look and feel more organic than the mechanical ships a human would build.

So what happens when someone sneaks into your hangar and kills you? Will they get teleported back to the spaceport and get shot by local security or get teleported to GH?
Yeah. Instead of having them magically appear anywhere out of thin air, you have them magically appear out of thin air only where there is a screen. Because immersion.
I sure hope the MPUV tractor will be purchasable in game with the new patch. Loading my Caterpillar with a hand tractor seems rough since the cargo doors still don't lower to the floor.

1:19 Since there are item banks all over the station, why not also have one in the hangar so you can get small items in the hangar without using the freight elevator? Thay way you can have people go from hab to hangar in street cloths and gear up in the hangar, which is probably what people would do in IRL. I mean, astronauts don't put on a space suit in their bedroom then take the shuttle to the launch pad.
It is probably already planned for hangars, or player bases when we get to that point, but I would like to have an area of the hangar to have a ship parked, probably no bigger than a heavy fighter, and display with it the weapons, similar to the load out screen from Strike Commander.

I´d love to get something between loot crates and 1scu containers with configurable labels to keep my gear sets in order. And maybe dummies for those suits that look cool but will definetly never be used
CIG development motto "How can we add more steps to everything they do?"
Convoluted way to handle inventory to be honest, but I guess we'll have to see how it feels in game.
Can’t wait to test 3.24 in November
It's in Evocati right now. We're talking weeks, not months.
November 2026? xD
First fixes the bugs so that the game is playable at all
i dont know how its implemented atm, but it makes sense to me that the automatic loading takes about as long as it would a single player. you are practically paying someone to load your ship while you go and do other stuff. i also wouldnt object to the ability to load 2, 3, or 4 times faster by paying 2, 3, or 4 guys to load the ship. time is money, so money should save you time.
Personal hangers have been what I have waited for, since we got Crusader atmosphere. So exited.
Operation "hangar box fort" is a go!
Super excited to try these hangers out and see what kinds of dynamic gameplay they may enable :D
In 2024, people buy and sell goods via an app on their smartphone.
In the year 2954 in SC you have a Mobiglass, but after landing you have to walk awkwardly to the trading terminal to complete the deal and then back to the hangar.
Or you just find out that the location is full and doesn't take your commodity anymore...
@@665Jan83as i wrote you buy it with the App and not with a terminal that is located somewhere in the city
This will be the biggest fundamental change to the game in a long time. Super excited and a hangar-sized thanks to everyone who worked on this!!!
Instead of stripping corpses then moving all the gear towards a box / ship storage then to a storage at a city/port, you think I can just have a giant pile of geared corpses in my hangar?
Ewww.
Not sure if corpses will despawn. But you can make a pile of gear if that's what you want.
Like the base Freelancer with its internal cargo grid.
I think they should adjust the flooring and allow it be a small freight elevator.
11 years in and CIG is still talking about “maybe we might have a hangar sometime in the future”.
Will the syulen be moved to a medium hangar? Because man it’s tight rn.
That's what they said in the video.
lol what???
that's what she said
Last I checked, that was the least of the Syulen's problems lol
Cos immersion.
automatic teleportation of bodies is incredible update?
1 HOUR of loading time is incredible update?
I really hope ya'll implement Morphologist's idea about hangar modules
Im willing to bet its on the table but probably not with the persistent hangars. That strikes me as more of a base building customization thing they will put in when we can actually start to make our own bases.
Care to explain what it is for people who don't watch his channel?
If you can modular ship, you can modular a hangar
Oh the ability to draw your weapons/tools and even use it in your hangar is great. I'm glad CIG listened to the suggestions (or perhaps it was they wanted to test it anyway). Anyway that solves multiple issues at once. Hope it'll work out fine and stay in the long run!
How does this work if you are trying to move cargo in the Carrack?
How do I get these big boxes thru a small/tiny door in the Carrack...
asking for a friend
Sheesh, even the hangars and freight episode has combat in it.
"Hey, we have this great new feature that you can make into your virtual home! Oh, but you better be ready to be in combat every microsecond you're logged in...just like "real life" amirite?"
SC: We try to make it feel as realistic as possible
Also SC: If you trespass you are automatically teleported
I'm so ready to be able to use my jukebox in my hanger finally
I wonder what would happen if you forget to turn it off before you leave.
@festersmith8352 some space Karen will drop a Colossus bomb on it
Once everything gets ironed out, make sure Chris gets a vacation. He looks like he's felt every comment the last 3 months. You're doing amazing work for an impatient group of people, myself included. On behalf of all of us, thank you. Thank you for listening to our insanity and getting this project looking amazing.
Really looking forward to this and the Persistent Personal Habs. Been a very long time coming.
shouldn't hangars just be coming with authorized access only? to magic away intruders isn't super immersive for anyone involved
@Maddock_ Yeah I don't like the timeout method.
@@Sarsour_ 10 bucks that it clips you through the floor after teleporting as well
I could see eventually them getting NPCs to tackle you, which would be hilarious.
They're def gonna add forced entry so people can steal your stuff while you're half a system away.
1) npc tackle on admisrice would be hilarious
2) authorization mechanics are planned for later
I like the idea of returning to my personal hangar and being able to decorate it again, especially at *_Christmas!_** :D*
Good ISC although i miss those programs where CIG told us about *more than one thing* .
I assume the intruder can’t shoot back in your hanger? Right…. Right?😂
even if they cant... intruders only get 30 seconds, so it shouldn't be too bad, so time (and individual circumstances of each trespass) will tell.
Almost certainly can shoot... but not legally!
I would assume not, which makes the 30 second magi-respawn kind of lame. Teleporting people doesn't really fit SC.
I hope we're closer to Banu Merchantman
Aaaaaaany day now…….

please i just want to not lose millions of credits worth of cargo when i get 30k'd
when u get 30Ked , you dont loose your freight. since long time ago.
Crash recover has worked for awhile now.
This is a vintage dig at SC
@@ledocteurgonzo wrong I 30k'd in my C2 last night with $200k worth of cargo it's location is still unknown. This problem is still in the game and CIG doesn't reply to and help desk tickets. Rediculous! The need to fix the servers, what good are new features if you can't even play the game without 30k or not being able to bedlog, get up from bed, use elevators or even walk at times. 3.23 sucked!
Not to mention having atmo issues on the Hercs so you either can't breath or catch fire just for using the elevator or sitting in the pilot seat.
This is all great, Id also love to see suit locker functionality enabled in ships...love this game, thanks to everyone creating this masterpiece.
wow inventory is now another time sink FUN
Hungry! Thanks for the update Jared and team.
So what happens when someone sneaks into your hangar and kills you? Will they get teleported back to the spaceport and get shot by local security or get teleported to GH?
There is no way to sneak into someone's hangar unless they get into the elevator with you and you somehow don't see them
I starting following this game in 2015 - I am still here and still supporting you guys LET'S GOOOO!
If this is not going to be physicalized what is the point of item banks ?
Why no just have the inventory interface at the press of a button anywhere ?
Because conjuring guns out of thin air breaks the inmersion
@@PingachuWarham But having access to an entire Walmart's worth of items in a 25 cubic foot container doesn't?
@@RUclipsUserCMXVIICDIno. The items are stored elsewhere on the station and you just get them out of the banks🤓 makes total sense
Yeah. Instead of having them magically appear anywhere out of thin air, you have them magically appear out of thin air only where there is a screen. Because immersion.
@@minecraftprovie5076 Sending loaded weapons through a pneumatic tube makes about as much as sense as heavy armor fitting through that tiny slot.
I sure hope the MPUV tractor will be purchasable in game with the new patch. Loading my Caterpillar with a hand tractor seems rough since the cargo doors still don't lower to the floor.
Automatically kicking out the trespassers break the immersion
I think it is a placeholder till AI security becomes a thing, then it will turn into a mini fps battle within hangars!
Yeah what a stupid decision
@@djlord77 Or, as has been suggested for high security areas, robotic turrets with stun weapons can mow down lawbreakers.
@@randlebrowne2048 That works too, anything but teleportation.
subtle reference to Deadpool and Wolverine :D nice ;)
Does the removal of armistace in hangars mean that intruders can kill me in my hangar?
If they have not been flung out, then they will have to be quick... they will get a crimestat though
It's a possibility but they'll get teleported out after a short while.
That would be awesome!
Yes, and eventually people will be able to kill you anywhere, since armistice zones are temporary and always have been a temporary feature.

Still can't call ground vehicles using the cargo elevators? :(
At least you can call them up the main elevator and park them to the side in personal hangars, but that's not helpful for us who want to load up at stations for now.
why would it come out of the cargo elevator?
@@KaryudoDS What?
@@pIaydagames Because the CitizenCon video that first showed us the cargo elevators also showed them being used to bring ground vehicles out of storage.
I was starting to think everyone forgot about this. It's just 3.24 then 4.0, never you mind what's missing. It was never there to begin with. Smoke and mirrors.
Guys......thank you for this. I've been waiting more than 10 years for this moment.
was anything done about outpost elevators? Last time anyone could move mission cargo into there inventory without being able to protect it.
Thanks for allowing us to enter keywords like we can do in the store kiosks.
There already is.
@@brianorca Thanks, I guess I did not know that
It is probably already planned for hangars, or player bases when we get to that point, but I would like to have an area of the hangar to have a ship parked, probably no bigger than a heavy fighter, and display with it the weapons, similar to the load out screen from Strike Commander.
fix the servers
I always love that this game up until now and still teaches patience. It’s required for the new releases, and pushing and pressuring has always lead games, that were very impressive titles, had terrible reception because of pressure from investors/fans/etc.
I’m always love hearing about the development of this game, because it is a titanic undertaking, and I am very impressed with it even still and love waiting, with anticipation, for the next update, and seeing all the speculation out there always turn into the thing people never what was coming.
Keep going you guys! It’s amazing so far! And if it gets better, it gets even better!
