Go North East workers on strike for pay equality

Go North East bus drivers, engineers and administrators are striking for equal pay. Why should North East staff be paid less than North West staff?
The strike is hitting people hard. Some areas have no bus service at all.
I've spoken to Go North East’s CEO and encouraged them to reopen negotiations so this dispute gets ended quickly.

Good for them. I feel sorry for the people unable to use the Service. The strikers had no choice and are way underpaid.

Same company? I thought they were all local private companies? Standing in solidarity though.

I’m a bit lost here… How much do they get paid in London for driving buses???
Also does the company make money or is it subsidised through the government hence running at a loss??
