The problem for the Tories is this: their leadership contest is a sideshow. The socialists pretending to be 'Conservatives' is temporary posturing. They all have track records of saying one thing and doing the opposite. The spectacle is nothing more than two bald men fighting over a comb. And beyond the membership no one cares. We need new politics, and there is only one party offering that: Reform.

Surely it's up to businesses to decide what works for them or not? Flexible working is more likely to bring people back into the workforce rather than deter them, so I would have thought that would be a good idea for businesses. People who can work around family responsibilities are more likely to return to work.

We have an ageing population that is often looking after grandchildren so both parents can work, providing financial support and the largest group when it comes to voluntary work. Many stay on at work after pension age still paying tax. Many using their savings to pay for health care top ups like physio, dental care etc. Plus they always have to be able to pay for help and care when needed . Don’t let’s mention care homes £1,500 per week.

Kemi needs to think big about the future of the nation state and the threats to it. If it were up to me I’d be looking at the more circular economy we used to have and reversing a lot of globalisation. Having a stable sized, culturally homogenous population. Far far less reliance on places like Saudi and China. Rules to prevent foreign ownership of property and businesses. Our own energy supplies. Things like that . I think we need to build a country that is ALWAYS war resilient so if our gas gets cut off by Ukraine we have a back up, if the EU plays silly buggers with food we have the ability to supply our own essentials, that our people are capable of defending ourselves, that we keep our competences in engineering, steel production and defence

If you're reading this Kemi, I like you but I'm not going to vote for either Conservatives or Labour ever again. Especially Labour. You won't do what needs to be done, either of you. The country is simply overrun with immigrants (many are here illegally) and it's getting worse everyday. There is nowhere for them to go, we can't house them, the health and educations services are at breaking point, what are we going to do ? Added to that, there is a problem with the complete lack of integration from a certain foreign culture that is incompatible with secular free British society. No one wants to say anything, they just stick their heads in the sand hoping it will go away. It won't. Reform are the only party now that will address this, that's why I'm voting Reform.

I am a firm believer in doing what works and is good for the people even if they can't see it now. So for me Kemi has wide knowledge of the politics and operation of government. That is essential for any leader of a country, party or action group. Kemi is miles ahead, she did not have the right colour first time but now we know that colour matters not, its Substance that matters.Core Principles and Standards with Flexibility to navigate a changing environment and shifting world require pragmatic Leadership with keen eyes. Quite right of Julia to raise the GDP per Capita of which we are currently down in 21st place and falling a long way short and of course, if people keep coming here things can only deteriorate from there. Imagine that for a moment, the sixth biggest economy but in relation to GDP per Capita, outside the top 20.
I've talked about the need for smaller government. The damage was done by Blair, introducing a second tier of government in 3 of the 4 territories that make up the UK and this at a time when we had all the MEP costs to meet and our contributions to the EU. It seemed to all those people on the outside looking in that we were all sold a dummy over the increased costs of government giving rise to shed loads more politicians whilst putting nothing back into the economy. That was a serious amount of damage caused right there and we have seen the bloating of admin costs everywhere as these people built their little empires within corporates and institutions.
Time to rationalize the big government mentality and start releasing the pressure on the private sector.

If they can’t even crack 30% in polling now god knows what state they are in after the budget. And they will be on a plate to mess around for the locals which at this rate may well be a apocalypse for Labour and they deserve it

She seems very smart, and she seems honest and trustworthy, but nobody wants the Tories back.
What we want is a Conservative government.

Sorry, Kemi is not for me. I can't see anything she said to make me even think about voting Tory. Reform are still by far the common sense party, I just hope they can iron out all the creases in the next five years.

Kemi realy stumbling here on home ground.
If kemi could have been gifted an easy ride, it’s on this show but you can hear Julia’s enthusiasm slumping answer after answer.
I’ve said it before, Kemi is a ‘ride or die’ Tory. Party first is all that matters.
She’s also a blatant liar. She knows non of her policies (as watered down as they now are) will get past the ‘one nation’ lot.
She should have joined reform but showed her true colours.

Sorry Kemi I can't think of a single thing that the conservatives have done well in the last 14 years. All the main parties have forgotten that their role is one of service to the people and not one of power to govern over us imo. I will never vote for any of the main parties again which is why we need something new like Reform. They are the only option atm Let's hope we get some proper politicians and new parties soon

Personally, as a disillusioned centrist, Kemi is the best candidate for conservative leader. The only one who has fought for Women’s and girls Rights that have been ebbing away and under Labour it will continue thanks to insane ideology. If she wins I will vote conservative.

I get the feeling most people are disillusioned at this point. People just want someone who they can actually like and not hate their guts, which is their feelings towards starmer. And second someone who can get Britain out of its malaise and revive its spirit. The amount of negativity about this country is sickening and whoever brakes through that will stand out in a good light.

She may seem nice and sensible ...but she voted for a lot of expensive green net zero policies...and spend more on diverse nonsense.

Who told you that? She’s made her career off of criticising DEI as evil and a form of racism itself. And she’s always been critical in government against the cost of net zero, calling it even recently handcuffing the government economy and another tax
