Art is in the eye of the beholder. I love the artistic choice to put distortion in her voice for that part. You know she could easily hit those notes without the distortion so it's not a skill thing. And the fact that she cried during the performance tells you that its coming from the heart. This was truly a display of raw artistic expression right here, not that manufactured shit you hear on the radio.

I echo sentiments below. This is actually a brilliant song. Miley is taking us on her journey through the grief of losing a pet and she lets us in! Everybody feels her emotion when they hear this and they tap into their own emotion from their own experiences. And those screams were heartbreaking, pleading for answers but beautifully controlled. I'm almost 60 and I dig rap and metal and watch obscure horror movies. I think for anyone over, say, 30, who has more mature musical likes feels a bit embarrassed to like Miley. I get it cause I can be as well. It's the Hannah Montana legacy. But that girl is all grown up now. She's got an incredible voice, has cut some brilliant records and she's drop dead gorgeous with a body to match (not that that means anything).
