I felt like Miley understood my sadness even though I didn't. Now I am listening to it again 5 or so years later. Just went through a devastating break up and I can relate in different ways to the songs. I knew when I heard this album for the first time that it was real. It wasn't a gimmick or an attention grab. It was just a soul bearing all of its fragility and being completely vulnerable. So it sadens me when people can't get past the "weird" aspects and just love this album.
