Two things: pre-aiming is called pie-ing in the real world. To pie around a corner is to move around it in such a way that the muzzle of your weapon is always pointed at the next possible place a potential target can be. It's what all servicemembers who learned any form of room clearing were taught. Secondly, I see a lot of "this video is stupid because they're all basic tips that everyone's doing anyway." If we were all practicing these tips anyway, then we'd all be pros, now, wouldn't we? Most likely, we think about these tips occasionally, but when lead starts flying, we forget about them and just shoot back instead of aiming carefully. I for one KNOW these tips (except aiming for the neck), but I don't put them into PRACTICE all the time, because I panic, start gripping my mouse tighter, push down on the mouse pad, and generally suck. A reminder every so often like this is what takes me back to the basics and learn those things that I know, but don't utilize on a regular basis "because those are beginner tips".
Yeah im a mercy main. Never play hitscan characters because to be honest i suck at them but i knew most of these tricks anyways from people in low-medium silver
:) Not anymore, "thankfully" to all of those Overwach RUclips channels, Sombra is over-played now and you just gain and lose SR just as for any other hero.
It is true that mercy players can be boosted into GM and maintain their rank with a low winrate since mercy players gain more SR than they lose with a 50% winrate. For that reason many mercy players are not appreciated in higher ranks (many times for good reason).
When I watch replays of some Widow kills I swear to god there's some kind of automatic correction going on. It's like at the very last millisecond the aim jumps two degrees instantaneously. Maybe that's just great technique, but it doesn't FEEL like how a great sniper would actually aim and execute.
Crouch spam only has one weakness tho, i gues that it was iddqds trick to aim to The neck, when Enemy crouches Heroes like tracer can get free headshots Edit: fucking autocorrect, had to correct 7 words
I do that and i'm not even in top 500 like I suck too much at quickplay and it's even worse in comp. if you see a sniper let them aim at you then a sudden crouch and they miss also it seems like the smaller you are the less of a target you are I guess that's good if you're trying to flank as reaper and don't want to get killed immediately
Honestly I think Overwatch is a great way to improve skeet shooting aim and vice versa. Two years ago I was completely terrible at skeet shooting. Out of 50 skeets, I only hit 2... Sad right? This past Saturday though, keeping in mind I bought the game a few months ago and had never touched a gun since that last skeet shoot, I rose to hit a whopping 19 of 50... Still not very impressive, but I think it really did help hand-eye coordination a lot.
Another really fun way that is not frustrating to learn all heroes is to play Mystery Heroes - I've done that for the last year and have 30+ hours on all heroes (aside from the recently released heroes) but I feel I have a great understanding of the mechanics for all of them and can flex to anything. I was a Mercy one trick for the first year of the game and that got old after 300 hours of her. Heroes that I thought were not fun became very fun after I learned them inside and out. Great video - thanks.
To add to your skeet shooting analogy, pros will focus on an imaginary point in the dead center of the clay pigeon to maximize their accuracy. Translating that to Overwatch, you shouldn't just aim for the neck, but the very center of the neck (where the adam's apple would be). This can be quite difficult as it's hard to see, especially with all the chaos in game, however it subconsciously urges your brain to make slight corrections in order to maximize your chances of hitting the neck (or head/body if you still miss the neck). In fact, real life snipers use this technique.
After hearing the first tip, would it be wise playing Widowmaker to make my retical a circle the size of a head with a dot in the middle? That way you are essentially "circling" the head/neck of an enemy?
Being an Army veteran I was trained to shoot center mass (center of the chest) and had that habit as I started playing this game. It took me a while to train myself to go for head shots. I should have known to go for the neck as it kinda puts the two together.
The last thing he said is important. So often I get in masters games and people instantly say "Oh no there is a top 500, we lose." With that attitude yeah you are pretty much just giving them the game cause you have it in your mind that you can't beat someone like that. It's just some other person sitting in front of a computer just like you. Don't be so scared, stop doubting yourself, you will play better.
I like to use Lucio for headshot practice 1v1 because if you fail he has a chance to kill you and his head bobs around a lot. So you have a somewhat harder time landing headshots and you have the pressure of being killed if you mess up.
While, undoubtly, these are really helpful and insightful tips, one major thing you left out. The emotion control and it's execution. It allows to do all the stuff you mentioned. Without it, fps is impossible. That's where talent comes into play.
tbh by one tricking genji i learned how to reaper, lucio, and winston because lucio and winston have mobility and utilize it like genji and reaper and genji both have shotgun like aiming
u dont have to hit the head, u have to to flick shots so the game will auto correct and hit the head for u. it's how u don't have to aim perfectly and you'll see it in most top player streams
Can you do some tips for close range aiming? I feel like all aiming tip videos don't apply, to Diva, Reaper, ect. You can't really track at very close ranges so it's a whole different game. I haven't seen any good videos for point blank combat.
the best thing to do is pack a lmg and keep firing from the right spots while all your enemies hone in on the action thats my pre firing firing before you see the guy
HardTuberz Oh you have no idea how easy it really is once you get used to it. So many people either don't try at all or barely try at all and just think that aiming on console is impossible. Well just to make matters worse on console we also have 3D movement, where as PC you have your 2d movement. Well if you think it's hard to aim with a stick try aiming at someone with 40x more movement options. Well it's really not as difficult as you think, because of the controllers' limit of how quickly you can turn to one side, over estimating the enemy's movement doesn't happen often and when it does it's easy to fix because you haven't gone too far off. With the right controller sensitivity it's also possible to do flick shots and 180s in a split second. Really the only difficult part is finding a sensitivity where you can turn fast enough to react to something without being hopelessly lost because every slight adjustment spins you around 5 times. I play a lot of Zenyatta and I find it easier to hit shots on my Xbox than it is for me to hit shots on my PC. And it's all down to movement. Regardless of how difficult it is to actually aim with just one stick most people don't realize you're not just aiming with one stick. The ability on console to move in a full 360° range of motion means you can use small adjustments in your character's position to assist your aim with the reticle. I play a lot of Zenyatta and a bit of McCree and I can tell you it's more in the footwork than any actual aim, just keep your reticle at head height and make small adjustments while your movement does all the hard work.
ReMeDy Bastions critical is located on his rear in turret form. When you come up behind a bastion, you'll notice a blue square in the center area. That's the critical. Unfortunately while in turret form, Bastion takes 35% less damage than normal. What this means is, he has more than 400 health, so no non ult ability can kill him in 1 shot, even to his critical. Not even a fully charged Hanzo or Widow shot. Best bet to take him out is force him out of turret form first (Ana sleep dart, for example), or do an attack like Reinhardt's and maybe Doomfist's charges, since they both do 300 damage assuming the Bastion hits the wall. Oh, and Dva has her critical in the center of her chest. literally just shoot the little Dva head.
Oh look, another "things GM do that you don't" even though most do it anyway because it's basic info. Will you end up saying "keys that GMs press that you don't"?
Demoman on TF2 take skillz Sniper Also on TF2 take skillz Use A AWP on CS:GO take skillz Swicting to Sniper on Microvolts also take skillz Hitscan take skillz boi
Dude its trap shooting. Skeet shooting is high speed left to right clay pidgins and trap shooting is the straiter one that is going mostly away from you. Trust me I've been in this sport for three years.

6. Spray the floor every 5 seconds.
7. Say "hello" every time you get a kill
i dont get this lmao
I don't want your "free credits" ya nasty.
XeNick it's a joke because a lot of Top 500 players spray the floor every 5 seconds or say hello after they get a kill.
8. Spam “I need healing!” At 199/200
But Torbjorn doesn't have a neck.
He has a huge head hit box to make up for it lol
8. Teabag and say hello after a kill
6. Pick Soldier:76 and wairt for ult.

Nice try Joel, there is no "real world". We all live in the Matrix.
1. Aim
2. Aim again
3. Try aiming
.. widows sniperifle just feels bad , not used not to strafe when aiming and the movement just fuks the aim up
but what if they dont got a neck
Francisco Limo Aim below the head
Francisco Limon where's dvas neck
Just shoot at the screen, its pretty big.
Francisco Limon i
Francisco Limon what about roadhog?
9:45 that's why it's unsure to "take your time" until you shoot, because the most from a good aim comes from fast muscle memory flicks
Step 1: Play Sombra
Step 2: Git Gud
Step 3: Play of the Game
Step 4: 50SR everytime
step5: get 10000SR
step6: get reported for sr hacking.
not a profi ?
Coluurful C;, I mean, it doesn't matter how much sr you gain, once you reach SR, which corresponds to your skill - you will stop.
:) Not anymore, "thankfully" to all of those Overwach RUclips channels, Sombra is over-played now and you just gain and lose SR just as for any other hero.
Lol thats so wrong if you one trick you get way more SR than any flix players. Which is how 30% win rate mercy players get in there
stay calm, aim properly. sounds like *take aderall*
Good thing I don't have to be a god hitscan to carry a game I just have to babysit them
Lúcio Correia dos Santos Eaew cara, tudo de boas?
People like u would be gold in other games but luckily for noobs like u, every noob can get top500 by playing heroes like mercy, lucio, winston, rein
SF2 RhymZ whoa whoa winston and rein take a skill in top 500 im a tank main
and mercy is broken all you need is a 45 percent win rate to be gm
It is true that mercy players can be boosted into GM and maintain their rank with a low winrate since mercy players gain more SR than they lose with a 50% winrate. For that reason many mercy players are not appreciated in higher ranks (many times for good reason).
L8IRUSI I always find myself getting around 20-30 a match which is kinda low but whatever an losing 25-30 so it's not exactly uneven I play lucio
Jeez these widows in this vid are so good
When I watch replays of some Widow kills I swear to god there's some kind of automatic correction going on. It's like at the very last millisecond the aim jumps two degrees instantaneously. Kaitain Jones I would feel the same way but I have a friend who is really good at widow like that 😦
Oooo I know if I keep putting my spray on the floor like seagull I'll be a pro
Here is A tip from a top 500 player crouch a lot because it might save your life.
Scaredbookworm and have a super high sensitivity to avoid headshots by spinning around, works especially for tanks
Crouch spam only has one weakness tho, i gues that it was iddqds trick to aim to The neck, when Enemy crouches Heroes like tracer can get free headshots
Edit: fucking autocorrect, had to correct 7 words
it missed guess

Scaredbookworm who gave you your information
Aiming for the neck only works if your target doesn't listen to Wu-Tang. If they do, your shot will be rendered utterly worthless
Wayde Saffield this is the best comment I've ever read on an Overwatch vid
0:17 "Some people are just better at aiming than others"
*Shows a S76 ult clip*
Thank you so much to feature me in this video its really an honor! :)
I wonder if GM syms or winstons use this strategy...? 🤔
Tyler Kegger.............. Ask stevo and xQc
GM Syms?
I would use these if my teammates could speak english instead of screaming "Nein nein nein!"
Darkrai618 Memes that doesn't make sense. How does someone who doesn't speak English give you bad aim?
Declan Wilson right? lol
You probably mean "нет, нет, нет!"
I barely see any german in online games that doesn't know how to speak english.
that accent tho
Talks about aim

I am almost GM but I lost my aim as mccree cuz been playing too much genji
After hearing the first tip, would it be wise playing Widowmaker to make my retical a circle the size of a head with a dot in the middle? That way you are essentially "circling" the head/neck of an enemy?
amazing video man really helpful. Please continue to upload more videos like this.
Being an Army veteran I was trained to shoot center mass (center of the chest) and had that habit as I started playing this game. It took me a while to train myself to go for head shots. I should have known to go for the neck as it kinda puts the two together.

i live off of pre-aiming because my reaction times are piss poor
6. pick torbjorn, build turret. sit back and relax.
I like to use Lucio for headshot practice 1v1 because if you fail he has a chance to kill you and his head bobs around a lot.
So you have a somewhat harder time landing headshots and you have the pressure of being killed if you mess up.
Most unhelpfull video in the history of overwatch
While, undoubtly, these are really helpful and insightful tips, one major thing you left out. The emotion control and it's execution. It allows to do all the stuff you mentioned. Without it, fps is impossible. That's where talent comes into play.
Overwatch seems like an abusive game with all the ABUSE videos that you make.
Step 1. Move your mouse to the right place
Step 2. Click
Step 3. Profit
tbh by one tricking genji i learned how to reaper, lucio, and winston because lucio and winston have mobility and utilize it like genji and reaper and genji both have shotgun like aiming

What is the last video btw ? the one where "not human" and rhein standing in front of them with shield?
on 0:40 its look like Mccree throwing Photon Barrier, haha
11:24 Winston and Mercy look... different
I can hit a wall riding lucio but panic when a reaper teleports to me and never hit my shots when he comes out of the teleport

Okay, I have a question then: Where is Bastion's head in turret mode? Where is D.VA's head?
ReMeDy Bastions critical is located on his rear in turret form. When you come up behind a bastion, you'll notice a blue square in the center area. That's the critical. Ikr, becoming gm is not abusing these retarded basic tips. There are no shortcuts to top 500. Only pure dedication or being naturally amazing.
The Cynical Pessimist you cant physically abuse tricks thefuck?
About tip 1, u say: "Aim for the neck". You can't aim for neck against roadhogs bcz most of the time you (surprisingly xD) don't see his neck. xD
Michael Ebeltoft Johnsen Tanks generally have fat head boxes
Wat about bastion?
EpicNinjaPro123 The face of he is standing up, when he is in turret mode their is a blue glowing box on his back, that is his crit spot.
Luçio already has a Houston Outlaws shirt before OWL is a thing.
Is it weird that i play better projectile heroes than hitscan heroes. Also im not a good tracker when i aim that why i flick shot.
NEXT LEGEND you can't really flick with a projectile hero
Nah. I'm garbage all round, but I'm a bit better with projectiles. Not sure why.
Projectiles have their own hitbox that's larger than their actual model. At least some (like Hanzo) do.
I got 2 airshots with helix rockets within 25 seconds once.
I felt cool.
that widow health (222 starts at about 9:45)
so what is hanzo?
Hanzo=Widow
Like: Pi=3,14
well ive practiced with strix
i now do strix plays that are questionable to any game
When you main Pharah looking for tips and it’s all for hitscans

I used to be soooo good at widow maker but my brain instead told me to take a break from overwatch which made me sooooooooooo bad at widow maker
Or just play on PC. We all know a mouse is easier to aim with
This video is exactly why I main Reaper
Jonathan Koshko I main Ana and genji LUL

@BluesClueeSeason8 thanks for the tip
when I started competitive play people always report me for not doing the right aiming.
now they report me for being to good xD
Jack Campbell spell too correctly
Pre-Aiming? I believe that is called 'Leading the Target' actually.
what about heros that dont have necks or there really small

this is basically can be used on other games too
Thanks

Whats wrong with the healthbar at 1:52
Imbahhhman wait what? The number is off
You can also...control your burst! Woah!
Golden Kirby On a game that has basically no weapon recoil? I don't see how much that would help
Trust me, when 76's burst isnt controled you can miss shots and die for it. or lose the game. or worsen your aiming trying to make up for the shots missing.
1:00 if you think wait a good widoe on console ? yes but he have MnK
Think like a rank 1: "Omg! Can't carry these noobs!! Team sucks, however I'm pro" Sounds familiar? :P
did he call hanzo's sonic arrow a sonar arrow can he not read.
Never knew the neck counted as a headshot... good to know after playing 5 seasons :s
