@Pan Peter Actually your bronze, he's been shooting you the head this whole time Q up with his bronze Mercy main girlfriend on King row first point high ground perch in qp
These videos are probably some of the most professional and well done tutorials on youtube. Actual tricks, video isn't longer than it needs to be, music isn't obnoxious. You're doing great work KarQ, keep it up.
If you have an extra forward momentum like Lucio after his wallriding and he still had a burst of speed, click jump just as you hit the floor. You have to time it right, and if I’m not wrong you can carry forward the momentum for 2 hops on the floor before your speed drops. This technique is called bee hopping and it originated from other games which I forgot, but as a Lucio player I use this after I wallride and I have to hit the ground but I got nowhere to wallride and I need to get to a point, like Hanamura first point attack. I think Eskay’s uploaded beehopping videos on his channel, go check them out. Hope this helps!
KarQ, i love these type of advanced tips videos! Even after 1000+ hours in this game, i was completely astonished by some of the facts from this and the last video!
You forgot junkrat. His mines are probably the best for use in rocket jumping. Btw if you jump with his mines it works the same as any other rocket jump. Don’t just throw your mine on the ground like a peasant. Jump just before as you would in a soldier jump. Furthermore, you can combo junkrats mines together to get extra height. I’m not sure if it adds more distance though, but I’d assume not. So just use this for extra height.
KarQ has got to be the one OW youtuber with actually helpful guides. Feels like when I watch Your OW I've forgot what he said by the end of the sentence half the time xd
I know about almost everything you said, but oh man! I used to be a mercy main and I didn't know about the vertical jump one XD. thanks KarQ for sharing these awesome movement tips
Since Im in the Melee community I started calling it Directional Influence, the idea of changing the direction/distance of knockback to stay alive or to use it in a way that benefits you is basically the same. Great video.
For rein, if you hold space and right click coming out of a charge and then release right click about mid way through the hop, u can travel significantly further!
You and Jayne have the best tutorials and tips because you guys actually say the ability needed instead of keys making it much easier for consoles to use these too
Theres an awesome way to demonstrate Reins momentum boost in the training range. You can hop the gap to the left if you use the charge + space trick but you will fall to your death if you dont hold space. (At max range on charge). Try it its hella fun, getting back is the only issue.
No AD-Crouch spam mentioned? :O Nice video, I suspected that walking backwards was slower but have never seen any confirmation of it, so that's awesome to know! Also I would love to see a similar video about juking the enemy! What movements you can do to trick your enemy etc! Especially for heroes like Genji, Tracer, Soldier, but also for supports like Ana and Zen there are many little things you can do to survive longer, get that needed healthpack or lure the enemy into a teammate!
For counter movement, I WA or WD strafe away from the cliff. So if the cliff is on my right, I hold W and A and look slightly right so the total movement is still forward. This way when a boop comes and instinctively look towards it, I'm already counter moving before I've mentally processed that I need to react. It has saved my butt so many times.
One note; Brig's shield jump+cancel thing wasn't fully removed, just nerfed heavily. Near as I can tell pulling off a combo for a little extra range is still doable.
And brig launch tech I love and play all hero's and all heros tech y jeff just keep it in the game you don't need to nerf someone because it was a bug pepehands
For the doomfist tip (if you’re on flat ground) you go farther if you jump before and after you punch. (If you’re going uphill it’s better to not jump at all)
So for doomfist to get maximum distance you shouldn't be pressing jump as soon as you rocket punch, but at the end of it. You can cancel the jump at any point during the punch, so it is better to do it at the end so you get almost the full distance of the punch + the momentum. You can also jump before the punch so that you are in the air when you do the jump at the end of the punch, causing the momentum to carry you further since you hit the ground later.
As zen you can use your immunity & speed boost, in combination with knockback abilities from enemies to propel yourself to areas you couldn't reach before. For example, if you trans as a dva nuke xomes down, and you run up a slope and jump roght as it detonates, you will get alot of vertical mobility. Just thought it was worth mentioning. :D
2 tips I learnt when I started playing overwatch that I didnt know and didnt find out until way later than I should have. 1. shooting someone who is slept will wake them up which is when when I get slept it lasts forever but when I sleep others they wake up immediately. 2. earth shatter gets blocked by shields which is why your earthshatters do nothing but their earth shatter destroys your entire team. Funny how there used to be a time I didnt know these and they frustrated me massively.
I think in the last tip, you should've suggested some crouches too. Sometimes when I crouch at the right time, I actually see a bullet above my head and that is scary. Conversely, if I crouch at the wrong time, I end up taking a headshot which should've been a bodyshot if i stood still.
As a rein main another tip is to hold jump while holding shield and it takes you even farther. Same implication of just getting to spawn faster but thought I should mention it :)
should have maybe touched on the d.va eject momentum/you can propel your character upwards by holding spacebar + direction arrow for which way u want to go. it's nice to use to access high ground when ejecting.
This video is amazing for those who play console. I have tried my hardest to do a mercy super jump but only get directions for pc keys and binds. Thank you so much KarQ
@@Kurissuuu oh like that. To be honest I am a pc player and I don't know which one they mean either. I rebound them to my mouse thumbbuttons. They are just ability 1. 2 and 3(ult) to me xd. But usually u know from the context what they mean (or from looking at their gameplay where they have their buttons bound to that)
Learning mercy’s super jump honestly improved my gameplay so much. This comment is really late and it doesn’t apply anymore (since you can’t even play goats) but a super jump heavy mercy was almost impossible to kill by goats. You just need to know when and when not too. If they have a good hit scan then you probably shouldn’t unless it’s necessary, but now that reaper sym and mei are meta and relatively close ranged hero’s, you should abuse that shit
I picked up Widow's own from watching so much Kephrii, for quite a while I figured it was something every person knew by then, but I guess not all Widows would know all the movement tricks for her lol
There's another trick with doomfist even though may not be practicle but if you make the uppercut while getting out from a door or anything similar if you make it in the edge you can make a quite long forward jump
I ma a doomfist main and want to point out that you said "Jump **as soon as** you rocket punch", but you want to jump at the end to get more speed and distance, also, you can flick your camera at the beginning or the end to make really tight turns to surprise the enemy.
Awesome video but you could’ve also added that you can use dva and wrecking balls Ults to move around when ulting as zen because your invincible to them so when the trance ends you are back on high ground with being in the middle of a fight
Fun fact: rocket jumping was first used in team fortress 2 by soldier, through a difficult combination of jumping and crouching at the same time, and shooting right underneath your character.
In other news, pressing left click fires your weapon, R reloads and when that % in the bottom of the screen reaches 100%, you can use your ult. I kinda thought this was gonna be some sort of special guide since it's KarQ, but it's all obvious stuff.
About AD-strafing, some heroes lean into the direction A LOT (like Moira) while other's heads barely move during strafing (I think Widow?) Could you do a video on that so I don't have to bore my friends to death, just to see the differences?
Those confused by mercy's superjump - no it hasn't been patched, but you have to jump at a very precise moment. Specifically, just as your momentum begins to slow down as you get close to your teammate. You can't do it by "jumping at any time" as far as I'm aware since that will just cancel your GA early and you'll likely just bunny hop instead.
Tabytha Skye exactly, I've been trying to make it clearer to some confused people here as well :) that "precise moment" is the small uplift mercy gets at the end of the GA, you can feel it if you try it few times
I have a tip by myself if ur spamm crouch and go from side to side its even better or when u get chased spamm crouch and spazz ur mouse and move your body then its really hard to hit, i do it all the time
You forgot that lucio can literally go infinitely foward by jumping on the ground after wallriding, and it acumulates the momentum so you can go much faster than usual by just pressing spacebar. This is used in a lot of rollouts to travel a long distance and still being fast. (I explained this really bad but you can found it in any lucio wallride guide)
Another not well known mercy tip, or other characters but I’m 100% sure it works on mercy at least, after GA to a pharah or to high ground, press crouch and you will fall faster.

I thought you might've added crouching with the AD spam, but I guess not. And a lot of character models like Genji, Ana, Winston, and dVA do great with turning angles. There is another jump with sombra, you can double jump by using emp and then jumping again. This was from Danteh, it’s cool
Now you should answer the question of the century:
Do you move faster while jumping?
Yes, but not horizontally
(technically there is a single point during the jump where you're moving the same speed, but who cares)

you got the order backwards on the agilities clip for doomfist - turn first, then jump out of rocket punch to turnpunch
for rein if you hold shield and jump while charging you go even farther than just jumping at the end
You can actually move further with Rein by charging + holding Jump + Holding Right Click
That Hydration boop is sick
Another movement tip with rein u can actually pull up ur shield at the end of ur charge and you’ll slide a lil bit
with dhoomfist you can jump release and jump at end of rocket punch can make you go little bit more distance but no one includes it
You can also jump whilst charging up rocket pinch for doomfist aswell as jumping during the punch
