This the thing with talented people. I’ve done this three times and I still can’t get it lol
I loved the fact that you admitted that you made a mistake and explained it in the video. Other art videos are so perfect, I don't understand at times where I made a mistake. Probably they don't post artwork with errors.
Thank you very much for taking the time to explain each step in great detail. I appreciate that you actually explain exactly what you are doing. A lot of "Tutorials" on RUclips now are just videos of artists painting at warp speed to some obnoxious music. It's nearly impossible to follow along with those speed paintings. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and time with us, so that we can learn how to paint. Blessings, your new fan and subscriber from North Carolina, Stacy
Thank you Stacy for such a kind comment.
This has been the most real beginner watercolor video I've seen yet. Thank you for explaining everything. It helps tremendously.
Thank you. I'm a beginner and your instruction and advice is most helpful.
Thank you for this spectacular, step by step sunset tutorial! Loved how you painted the entire canvass with raw sienna... new concept for me. Also I loved the vid length... perfect!!! 👍🏾😘😊🙏🏾
Love your watercolour sunshine beautiful
I am a beginner and you have made this beautiful sunset very easy for me to understand. Thank you
The explanation in real time is greatly appreciated. Most tutorials are time lapsed and certain details are missed. Thank you!
you are such a great teacher...your tutorials are so well explained. I would love to see you do more tutorials in real time. It doesn't matter if there long!!!! If love listening to your voice, you make it look so easy to try and you make me wanna start all over the hobby again. You inspire me!!!
Nice and easygoing, speaking and painting. 😊
Your voice it's truly calming, your instructions are clearly the best. Thank you for making this videos, to show me and the begginers that being an artist it's possible. Send you love and success
Do you think I can do yoga instructions with that voice of mine? Lol, no just kidding, I don't have THAT much patience. Thank you for your kind comment.
Thanks for this beautiful drawing step by step. I love this so much🧡🧡

Privet Ekaterina! I love your tutorials. You make everything simple, yet very elegant in your landscapes. I can't wait for your next tutorial. Hope you do one soon!
I don't have a question because you gave such good instruction. Thank you.
Very good and THANKS so much for explaining!!!!! THANKS AGAIN
Thank you so much...I am a beginner, and I appreciate your detailed instructions...this makes it easier for me to understand the technique
I loved how you fixed the watercolour patches. Usually I would start again with new painting once I saw patches but not now!
Fixing is a part of painting. When you have a very large painting - you better know how to solve the problem when it occurs ;)
Excellent! Thank you.
Thank you for such a great video. Step by step really helps.
Thank you for this tutorial. I’m gonna make sure that I try this at home. Please make more tutorials on mountains, forest and etc. Love every bit of it!

Hi i really enjoy your videos and you always inspire me to paint. Will you please post more tutorial videos on coming days. We would be very happy to watch more of your videos. Thank you for this video.
You make it look so easy. Beautiful. Deb. Ark
Thank you for your tutorials. They are very clear and informative. Will you consider online classes? I would love to learn more from you.
Also, what is the name of your brush?
😁
Your hands are beautiful.
nice
Love your techniques "alla prima" in your waterfall bideo.can you do sunset waterfall tutorial ?
👍😍👍
Thank you what a really informative tutorial, I love your work. Can you please tell me the name of the brush you are using, I can never find one the same. Thank you again
Hi Ekaterina, thank you so much for these tutorials, I love how you render landscapes so concisely and artfully. I noticed that you use rose madder genuine a lot in your paintings. It's a beautiful color but I heard that it's fugitive. Can you recommend another pink that has the soft glow but does not fade?
Xiaopei Wu thank you for pointing out about the rose madder. You are right. Well, you should look for words “new” or “permanent” in the name of the color as this very good article suggests: www.artistsnetwork.com/art-mediums/watercolor/what-is-fugitive-color-watercolor-painting-tips-from-birgit-oconnor/
Xiaopei Wu so, Permanent Rose (Winsor & Newton) is the way to go it appears. You brought a very good point, I now even want to make a class to explain the properties of colors. Thank you.
Thank you! I'd love to see that class. I enjoyed your desert painting class very much. Thank you for these wonderful tutorials!
I use Quinacridone Rose (PV19) (aka Permanent Rose in Winsor & Newton). It's easier to get, less expensive than Rose Madder Genuine, stronger tinting (which means it's not as easily overpowered when mixed with other colors, it's easier to produce a strong dark color and the tube will last longer), more intense and not prone to fading like RMG is. Unlike RMG, Quinacridone Rose is staining and usually has little to no texture.
Another pink I like is Cobalt Violet Light. This one is non-staining, has a lovely texture and it will never fade. However I don't end up using it too much because it's weakly tinting (easily overpowered in mixes) and tends to be expensive.
Thank you for sharing. It is a good tip. I also have Quinacridone Rose, but Cobalt Violet Light I need to try. You see, for beginners it is really not very important what they use. I don't even like naming particular colors, just say red or blue. I want my students to study how to use prime colors 1st. When it gets to a professional level, then many things become important.
Your accent ❤
I don't know how you don't get a green colour by putting blue on that yellow...I git it and it looked bad ...
I was missing you.
Is this tutorial for beginners to?
sure it is, anyone is a beginner at something, including myself ;)
Acrylic or poster?
How come everyone doing tutorials names specific colors when there doesn't seem to be a universal color pallet in watercolors? I have like 4-5 different brands and no raw sienna or rose madder genuine, so I can't paint this?
Just find similar colors that are the same warm or cool tone. That's what I did and turned out just a beautiful 💓
Rebekah W (comment below) is right, I could just say red, blue, yellow, but you kind of can see that, right? I am just being more technical for those who need it. Find the colors that look the same and see if they mix well for your painting (tho sometimes colors DON'T mix well).
Can you use a canvas for watercolors?
Well... you can, but watercolor will act very differently on it. There are different canvases too, some are absorbent, some are not at all. You will not be able to use the same techniques that I teach on canvases. Fun to try though.
Ekaterina Smirnova I tried it on a canvas. You’re definitely right but it didn’t turn out too bad.

This is a bunch of crap
I guess it didn't turn out good this time hah?
This is so bad , I expected much on seeing those colors . Actually the concept were good and the use of colors too. But why can't u paint them instead of pasting
lol, well, this is an instructional video for those who study. Have you seen my actual artwork? You will be surprised to find out how different it is from what you see in this video.

Wasted my time and energy following this.
Result is pathetic
Ah, I too sometimes feel the same about my work. Though, time is never wasted, you learned something new, even if the result does not meet your expectations. Watercolor is hard, so don't give up!
@@EkaterinaSmirnova sorry I may sound rude then. I am a beginner so maybe I didn't follow it correctly
