I do also agree with you, Lucas, about it seeming like the datpostmil bois are more involved with an ethos than exegesis. I am staunchly Premil not because I think it is cool, but because I am convinced that is what the Bible teaches.
38:35 I would add 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 as an indicator of this physical reign of Christ on the earth.
Also, I would say that the concept of Premillennialism is predicated on an anticipation of the Law, Prophets, and Writings that the Messiah would reign on the earth as the Better Adam and Son of David and the Apostles are in that continuity, not radically reinterpreting or providing a position that was outside the prevailing train of thought. It is just that this time that we live in between the First and Second Advents is one of ambassadors calling on the nations to bow the knee in faith before the King of kings before He comes to take that which is His and establishes the fullness of His reign.
