You should always try to maintain your willingness to try new things, even if you get really good and comfortable with your own style. Doing exercises like this and stretching yourself and making yourself uncomfortable is how you grow and master new things! I think this painting turned out really well, it's different from your normal stuff but still distinctly you. All the best. :)

I really like the background because it makes a nice contrast to the warm orange in the foreground. It gives the painting depth and makes the charakter stand out more.

I really love this!! Both paintings are really pretty and have their own, unique strengths!! The original has a very storybook, fairytale vibe. I could see her being the protagonist in a video game or a picture book! The newest one could also easily be a video game character, just, an entirely different style. She's much more ... ethereal, I want to say. There's more mystery to her. I love them both a heck of a lot
Your videos make me feel so okay with using references. Sometimes I feel pressured to not use them and be a "real" artist, or I forget that they exist at all! Thanks!
You shouldn't just feel like using reference, use it whenever possible if unsure :P

wat i love the most here is how i think watching these videos would give me motivation to pick up my pen and start drawing but instead i feel like an utter failure watching someone detail trees in the background better than i could detail anything in the main focus of a painting

One question, would you ever consider doing these draw it again as an actual series? i feel like for people who are still beggining to learn to draw digitally seeing siomeone who makes such amazing art re-draw art that is more similar to our skill-level really helps us as it kind of shows us that "hey, we're not actually that bad we just haventbeen drawing as long"
