How long is your ski season in England? You don't need to fiddle with a jump or trick fin 👀

    Rob, thanks for the videos
look up a graph Dynamic Viscosity of Water vs Temperature, the effects are substantial, as you summarize the ski runs higher, faster, I've noticed even the boat runs different attitude and depth

It is viscosity giving wider turns, and more drag. Water loses impurities (growth) & becomes super clean on our lake. Spring skiing is murder. We pull off our wings until ~ July. Technically - the best compensation is to make the slalom course longer, but that isn't an easy thing to do.

What about going to a shorter ski to maybe get more sink and thus a little more water so grip and slow down before the buoy?

Sorry I missed your reply, that is a pretty aggressive change to make! Would definitely be interesting to try!

Thanks rob so should we edge change (pre turn) much sooner in the colder months then .? Thanks Steve

Hi Steve, I like to think of cold skiing as more for fitness and technique work. So i'm training to get a jump start on the summer instead of big scores. Also pulling long will probably lead to a rushed edge change and skiing straight to the bouy which is never good! And like I mentioned in the video, the reason cold skiing is so hard is lack of tail slide means it's harder to get angle which is the main problem, so focus on finishing the turn and getting good angle and acceleration into the wakes. Hope this helps!

@@RobHazelwood thanks Rob makes sense you’ll have to come to Gosfield this year would be good to have you down for training

@@stevepeglitsis9192 sorry just reread your comment and realised you’d said pull short not long but it’s the same concept, train how you want to ski in the summer just with a little extra focus on technique
