Good Morning Sue and Jeff. Yes, they are from Mongolia. Glad you found The Hu. Saw them open for Halestorm , they are awesome live. Mongolian throat singing combined with rock/metal and Mongolian folk music. Using traditional Mongolian instruments and standard guitar, bass ,and drums. 🐺,The 2 string being played with a bow is a Morin Khuur or Horseheads Fiddle. The 3 string being played like a guitar is a Tovshuur. 4 members and 4 touring members. Gala and Enkush on Morin Khuur and throat singing. Jaya -throat singing, Tumur Hhuur (jaw harp), Tsuur (end blown flute) Temka -Tovshuur 4 touring members: Ono -percussion Jamba -guitar Davaa -bass Odko -drums. Wolf Totem is one of several that they had redone with new English lyrics and guest singers, in this case with Jacoby Shaddix(Papa Roach). Try Song of Women with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Yuve Yuve Yu, original or with Danny Case(From Ashes to New), or their latest single, Black Thunder with Serj Tankian(System of a Down) and D.L. from Bad Wolves. They also covered Metallica's Sad But True, in Mongolian. Good suggestion Kent.🤘🤘
So glad you guys finally got to this one! Knew Wolfman would find it interesting. They are Mongolian. They have done some collaborations with American artists, including Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, you might wanna check out. A scuttlebutt was originally a cask of freshwater on a sailing ship. Not sure how it garner its current meaning, unless it was like the original water cooler -people standing around it to gossip. And not making McDonalds properly is definitely worth getting upset about. Love y’all!
The HU have a great song with Lzzy Hale called Song of Women, highly recommend y'all give that a listen, it's a great blend of cultures and a fantastic video on top of it
You both did a great reaction to this. I'm impressed that you heard this band for the first time and reacted sensibly instead of losing your minds! And it's okay, I'm an old school Second Wave feminist and I know Wolfman Jeff isn't out there r@ping anyone 😆🤣 I bet no one is out there fighting with The Hu either--they go into their love for the Great Ghengis Khan in other songs. I don't think Mongolians have ever been defeated or over run. These are scary guys in the best way possible. Going to watch you do Song of Women now and I bet it blows you away! ❤️🇨🇦
Stuff I read: Mongolia was never conquered. Over 30% of the people are nomadic. The president of Mongolia is (was) one of the bikers in a bandanna. It’s the most sparsely populated country in the world except maybe some oddities like islands. It’s a lot of fun to watch you two.😊
I don’t know how this one passed me by. I look for your videos everyday on my phone nothing. Turn on my I pad and there it is. Anyhow. Great video/song. I enjoyed it a lot. Seems the more videos I watch the bigger the hole in the sand is where I must stick my head. I mean going on a billion views and I’m clueless and love it. So many days have passed since this was posted I guess now I can use this to check in on you 2 since the weekend. How are you doing. And thanks Kent for the pick. Enjoyed you talk and reaction to this.
In the days of sailing ships kegs were called butts (nothing else implied). To scuttle was to deliberate sink a ship or boat. Like to deny them to an enemy. The boats usually by breaking a hole in the bottom. A scuttled butt was an open keg of water for the crew where a lot of gossip was exchanged.😊
you can thank the most evil and one of the greatest military leaders ever to walk the planet for this song Genghis Khan this a mongol war chant that they do when your about to face 50K mongols making you have a very very bad day :) great reactions

You're right about the standing around the water cooler. I served in the Navy, and Scuttlebutt is the name the Navy uses for the water fountain.
Well you learn something new everyday! 🍔🍟🌭

From horses to horsepower. Yuve Yuve Yu is also a great song by them that talks about their history. The Great Mongol horde!
