We love getting new games at the Electric Starship Arcade but the is NEW new! Fresh out of the box! Let's check out the modern yet retro styled Retro Raccoons.
I would leave the game in drink mode. Use it as an opportunity to sell more drinks and beverages at arcade. Or at the very least, stock some empty plastic cups next to the machine.
Funny how it doubles as a nice casual game for kids, and also 21+ hours drinking game 😂. As beer on tap in arcades, i can see why they built these. Maybe can give 4 player match winners who all buy a draft beer, a free beer or half off next.

Many arcades like arcade monster and cidercade have a mix of both new and old to lure two generations in. Even galloping ghost arcade has a room of newer games but it's up to you and how much room you have if you want to mix pac-man, frogger, x-men and street fighter with killer queen, luigi's mansion, love live and cuphead. Shame you can't build a second floor for more games like galloping has announced they are doing! For this new game why not go buy a set of plastic cups from the dollar store and put them on a rope or something tied to the machine? Also, a note with the 80s posters on the wall any chance at putting up the 1986 transformers the movie poster? Nothing is more 80s than that! Also, with all these new games it may be time for an updated tour of the arcade again!
Could you 3d print some fake drink cans, with a little weight in them, and offer them as an option, otherwise bring your own drink? As for your other question. Personally the best arcades do offer a little bit of everything for everyone. Even modern arcades often have a retro section, why not have a retro arcade with a small modern section?
You could always toggle it on after the kiddos leave, depending on how labor intensive it is to switch it. In my opinion, your arcade has enough cred to remain retro no matter how many modern games you add. The spirit is there. As a younger arcade fan, modern games are awesome!
