My best friend in High Schools Father had a 1971 GP SJ. He was a British Leland Dealer and new all the other local dealers. Story is that he "Special Ordered" the GP at the local Pontiac Dealer in Hamilton, Ohio. Man, that car would haul B___!!!. It would smoke the tires easily and when you manually shifted the Automatic trans it would leave some serious tire marks going into second gear. I was in the car many times at over 120 MPH as confirmed by a rather persistent Ohio State Patrol one Saturday night!!!
@@TOBYH I like earth tones on classics. Some say it's boring, but that's the look I like. Only brighter colors I like on a classic is maybe on a Chevelle SS.
I had a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ black with black vinyl top everything this car has except mine had a 8-track player right at the back of the center counsel between the seats i bought it in Lake Arrowhead Ca. in 1989 from Kim Karson Playboy Playmate March 1985 i was in my 20's and i never took my foot off the peddle which caused me to get lot's of tickets . I had the car for 10 years till Arizonan said enough is enough and suspended the registration for 3 years . I bought the car for $500 bucks and i sold it for $400 bucks ya please someone hit me with a hammer because i am a F--cking Returd .
My first car. Blue with white vinyl top Mine had a 400 instead of the 455. Love the gas. Big motors heavy cars equal gas 🐖but back then 75 cents a gallon not to bad. Now forget about it.that car made at a different time and different place. Now they wanna do away with gas cars and the Sheeple will allow it to happen. 🕰️Tick Tock. Love the old Pontiacs.💘
My first car but it was black..leather bucket seats,it was in excellent condition I bought it for $1000 in 1982 in Anadarko Oklahoma I was 16..Boy I wish I still had it 😢..
Great looking car, but I always gasp when I see the radiator shroud, it's the length of two football fields. You could build condominiums in that shroud. Jimmy Hoffa might be in there that shroud is so big. My wife was lost in there 15 years ago and hasn't been seen since. OK that's all I have.
Oh ya one more thing i am glade my Grand Prix was black cause this color (orange) sucks , the first thing i would do be painting this car and No not lime green that is another ugly color .
The sound of that exhaust when he went around back sent me right back in time to a cold winter night looking under my 72' for exhaust leaks.
wow...SJ with the 455. great color too. luv this
Great color combo and a 455 under the hood. Get up and go luxury.
Thank you.

Definite fan of vintage Ponchos and that rumble, not a fan of the color.
ME EITHER, IT TOTALLY RUINS THE LOOKS OF A GREAT LOOKING CAR, CHEAP LOOKING COLOR.

That color looks good on the judge gto, but not so much on the gp.

Nice car
Nice!
If it was my car. I think Pontiac gold would make it pop. Like on the trans ams
A 4LE60 or 70 4 speed automatic . Overdrive would unlock and let it cruise. At a lower RPM
Nice nice nice ❤
That still seems like a lot of money for a car with a whole lot of issues and things that don't work.
Has the Halo top.(!)
Repaint if u don't like the color
SURE, A GOOD PAINT JOB IS ONLY AROUND 7-10 K NOW, EASILY DONE.
Overpriced
way over priced
