I think the biggest question you need to ask yourself when buying a car is: what are your expectations for the car you're buying? I think this will greatly dictate what you end up getting and also your overall satisfaction of your choice. I like how you mentioned a list as I did the same thing before I decided upon the Veloster. And believe me, I had sooooo many different ideas and criteria. Either way, I'd ask that same question before you settle on the Mustang too because i'd hate to see you have buyers remorse on that too. It's one thing to have and WANT a "dream car".... it's another thing to be stuck with that as a financial decision and not be satisfied because you had the wrong expectation or idea.
Oh hey Chayness thanks for stopping by! My buyers remorse unfortunately was more so due to my lack of knowledge. It was my first vehicle and I went with something that made my mother more proud than it made me. The Veloster is a great first car, or rather a great car to own in general. It hits a lot of points that even enthusiasts look for and consider. The car does everything I could really want it to, and I never really felt like it was lacking in the capability department. Sadly, it just doesn't put a smile on my face all the time when I look at it. I feel like the car doesn't suit me. I went to see my first potential Mustang today and it blew me away haha. Video should be out tomorrow on July 14, 2020. Thanks for your concern, input, and viewership Chay. Hopefully next time you leave a comment RUclips actually notifies me like it's supposed to haha.
@@OctaneStreet Haha youtube is crazy with their stuff but it happens. Good luck on the search. Having the RWD and all that extra power is fun for sure. lol
yes .ive just bought a veloster gdi standard 1.6 .i bought it just as a nice looking car thats reliable .it hasnt let me down ,itswell fast enough to get u banned ,at the end of the day all cars are just gas ovens on wheels .maintain them and theyre fine ,cane thrm and ull ruin the engine
Definitely great car buying advice at 3:42 , I started looking into velosters just because the cars cheaper to buy and insure over what I want. After hearing that I’m definitely going to wait until I can properly afford to buy and insure the car I want.
I wish I had someone tell me this when I was looking, then again I never looked for the answer on my own either. It's my biggest regret to this day to be 100% honest, and it's not even the car's fault. It's my own.
A mustang for your first car and you monthly insurance bill would be higher then your cars monthly bill. And let's not even talk about the gas. Your Moms made a good choice.
Yea but.. I still could have comfortably afforded it all even after running the numbers. The decision I made allowed me to save a bit more money, but it's all being washed away since I'll be selling my car for only a little bit more than what's left owed on it. If I went into full detail you'd understand a bit more but, as I stand I know I personally made the wrong decision. My mother's decision is the smarter choice and option for sure, but that's not what I needed at that time. As I look and get closer and closer to putting a down payment on a home, my time to purchase my dream car shortens. If I already had my Mustang, I'd be much better off.
Looking at a veloster turbo. It’s not what I desire, but then again what I need won’t be fulfilled with what I want. I feel like this will be a good car until I can make the next financial step to afford something more enjoyable. But from my research, they’re pretty reliable, good on gas, and still decent fun to drive. Again, not what I want, but it’s what I need. Your videos have been very helpful. Cheers dude🤙🏻
I'm glad my videos have been a decent aid for you in your research. For similar money to a same-year Honda Civic, these cars are definitely a lot more fun and (imo) stylish. Thanks for watching 👊
on the real tho from your prior videos i would say you liked the car it just wasn't your dream car, but it's a car that help you get to where you wanted to be
Slap on a K&N airfilter and a blow off valve and you will get the best turbo noise ever. You will start to love the car then. All I have to do is rev the car up to 3 thousand rpm let off and you get a nice turbo flutter. But then rev it up to 5 thousand rpm and let off 🤤
You know what.. I think I will slap an intake and BoV on before I decide to sell the vehicle... Don't K&N Intakes require a tune though? Or are there non-tune K&N setups? Haven't looked too much into it.
@@OctaneStreet injen.com/i-30498378-injen-sp-cold-air-intake-system-black-sp1341blk.html turboxs.com/blow-off-valve/198-genesis-2013-sml-hybrid-blow-off-valve.html you can do an intake and a bov without a tune 100% and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. you won't get the "full potential" out of your parts but stock your not getting the full potential out of your car to begin with so go for it. the brz/frs/86 is not a turbo charged car and you still have about the same horse power plus your loosing room if that's important to you. its very small inside.
Thank you very much for the parts list! I've seen the Turboxs bov installed on this platform before for sure, thought the sound was barely noticeable though; but maybe that's just how it sounds through video. Also really like and agree with that statement you said haha, "you won't get the "full potential" out of your parts but stock your not getting the full potential out of your car to begin with..." very well said. I'm aware the BRZ/86/FRS platform is NA (hence why everyone says the power feels much to desire in those vehicles) but idk... They look like such fun little cars with a ton of aftermarket potential! Definitely aware of their tight cockpit as well haha. Thanks again for all the info though ~ Don't be surprised if you see videos of me installing an intake + bov in the NEAR future :') Haha
@@OctaneStreet Sorry I did not see your post about the tune but like Brenton said you do not need a tune and I highly highly recommend K&N vs injen or any other brand. The K&N sucks in air like crazy I have a custom exhaust and I can hear the air intake more than the exhaust. But then again more intake means more to the turbo and that means more turbo flutter😋🤤. I do have vidoes I can send you if you want my Instagram is also buddy6buddy
😂😂😢😢😊😊 this guy is a mommas boi. The veloster is perfect for you. Just from watching ur video. You want more than you can afford or because of your car knowledge I think you made the right choice.
Too much talking just to say u didn't like the car because it wasn't your dream car. I honestly fell asleep watching the video thinking u had a bad review about the car🤷🏽

my insurance increased to $63 every 6 months from 07 Mazda 3 but the gas bill remains the same

It’s a basic car but that turbo must make a huge difference
Oh it does!
The mazda3 interior is exactly what I was thinking. Man, it looks so bland lol

A Toyota car does a hell of alot better than a Hyundai Veloster car hands down period!
you're cute omg
Just tell about the car dude!!!! Not YOU
It's to build and give perspective.
