I finished Persona 4 Golden on PC mere days before the remaster came out on all platforms. While I’ve got my gripes with it, namely the gameplay, the soundtrack was one of the best parts of the entire experience. While it sounds like a detractor, the overuse of Who’s There created the most memorable moments of the whole game. It went from horrifying at the start, the laughing every time I heard it midgame, to being twice as scary when things started to hit the fan in the endgame. Also, izanami’s reprise of reach out to the truth had me fist pumping that entire boss fight. Game’s having an “epic” remix of the main theme during the final boss is pretty much my favorite trope ever. And yeah, I cried a bit at nevermore too. I never cry at games. I more sat in contemplation after finishing 5R. Nope, P4G had me sitting there with a tear running down each cheek. With 5 I knew I’d see them all again soon in strikers, but with the nature of 4’s spin-offs (basically needing to finish 3) it felt like a much more long term goodbye, and it hurt. In my current world where everything is changing, very similarly to the actual age of the characters in the story, it rung real close to home, and the soundtrack made all of that much more potent. I’d still consider 5 a better experience, but man does persona 4 have an unreplicateable feeling that makes it that special. Regardless, great video. Really got me thinking.
love the way you describe this game and it’s soundtrack so lovingly yet it’s so true and real. cant imagine someone better when it comes to representing these games :) great work.
I recently replayed Persona 4 Golden, and relistening to all the tracks was... Amazing. I felt like I was back. So nostalgic, jesus. Like, just starting the game had me like 10 minutes listening to the first screen
The whole time I edited when I reached the Marie segments... I sobbed still and her battle theme plus the end motiff of Never More got me in my feels ;_; (but thats a good thing!)
I was really hoping youd talk about reasoning. It would always play while they were sitting around trying to figure out clues of the murders. one of my favorite songs in the game easily
I think it’s a testament to how great this soundtrack is that I was disappointed some of the tracks I love were never mentioned (Long Way, Backside of TV, The Almighty, New World Fool)
I wish I put more songs in the video & likely might make a video later down the line covering some of the greats I missed. The Almighty is insanely good though omg
Fire Video! Persona 4 is such a special game and the music elevates every scene its in and im so glad there is a video out there that focuses just on its music's impact. Amazing!
Rise and Naoto have amazing dungeon themes! Heaven just hits home for me and same with some spoiler dungeons I mentioned but I won't go in depth on that... Just enjoy the game :D
@@VirtualMementos just beat the game today. the choice to remix in the title screen intro track into the final moments of the game is really good. love the game
😭ya got me in the feels in this one hoo boy. Issa ‘nother great video man! A lot of the OST in this game is str8 banger or really hits in the kokoro. Also wanna give thanks to you for practically introducing me to the Persona series.
Thank you, this soundtrack really can make anyone cry (Its factually proven lol) Pssh it was only a matter of time before you got into the games my guy!

P4 has one of the greatest soundtracks in gaming history. It's so ingrained in my memory I can kinda hear it whenever I hangout with friends
Between all the games in Persona... 4 stands out to me and I relate to hearing it anytime I'm w/ friends. Its why replaying this game is never dull :)

Thank you so much Emil

Years later and some tracks still flared emotions when they played during your video, this soundtrack really is something special

There were so many songs I missed and would love to go in depth on each song. Glad you enjoyed the video though!!
I just started persona 4 a couple days ago and im loving the music so much
It is the best part! I legit remember before ever getting far into the game I had like 5 favorite songs in the first couple hours

I’m glad this game got me into Persona, what a great introduction.
Persona 4 music is best music :)
@@VirtualMementos Indeed, my favorite is Signs of Love. You CAN’T hear that song and not hear Nanako saying “welcome home, big bro!”.
