Also really enjoyed my time with this duology, even if I did feel that a lot of the dark moments in the first game felt a bit "forced", like, grandpa dying kinds came out of nowhere, and after that scene, he's never brought up again, making me feel like that would thing was kinda just put there to make you "feel" something, with no real payoff.
Klonoa 2 definitely improves on that, the story is far more focused in that one, even if some of the mid-game writing tended to be a bit hit or miss.
Still, really great series! Hoping we can get a remake of beach volleyball next

im glad you enjoy the video and do agree with you for Klonoa 1's writing. It's something that never properly paid off even in the context it's a dream.
Klonoa 2 is easily my favorite though and is now a go to game :)

The Reverie series was actually my first time with these games, and they are quickly become some of my favorite platformers of all time (Klonoa 2 especially). the music, the atmosphere, the story, the levels all have such a unique vibe that always manages to keep on reeling me back into there's worlds. Amazing stuff right there.

I loved this game. But i grew up with the sequel. I got the remasters on the switch and the first one is way harder than the second one. Maybe that's because i was going off of memory for klonoa 2 and had zero experience with klonoa 1.
