The first piece that I turned which didn't go back into the firewood pile was a cherry burl. I gave it to my grandmother for her birthday that year. She just sat there turning it in her hands, looking at it. When she finished with presents from the rest of the gang, she went back to my bowl. Except for during big family holiday meals, it sat in the center of her kitchen table until the day she died. Really brought me back 20 years. Superb work, as always, David.
I don't know why, but I got tears in my eyes at the finished piece. It's otherworldly, beautiful. And then, I noticed at the end that the name on your machine is "JET", which are my initials. I don't know why I feel so emotional about this gorgeous piece of art, but it's amazing.
I can appreciate your typically purist approach to the wood, but you took a rotted piece with potential and turned it into a thing of value and beauty. Nice!
That resin colour added to the amber warmth of the wood and complimented the texture of the wood with its swirls so beautifully. And the music was wonderful. This video made me happy.
WOW!!! As a Turner I just did a winged bowl of the sister to that cherry burl! But what you did to yours is absolutely beautiful! Love your videos so relaxing after a stressful day!👍
I am, by no means, a woodworker but, I have binged so many of your videos. It's amazing to watch you take something beautiful from nature and then use your own skills and creativity to make it even more beautiful.
Wow! David, this first try with resin is a master stroke! It magnifies the black cherry burl and the result is pure beauty! Persevere, your creativity can create wonders! Thanks for sharing! 👍😉
Your finished piece goes beyond just a work of art, your imagination and skill turn what was a living thing destined to decay into an enhanced natural object to be admired, and treasured…forever….
Wow, this is a travel in beauty, i wouldn’t miss one second of the birth of this masterpiece. Showing us the region you live makes me understand how inspiration comes to you. Seeing your work tells us so much about your personality and no doubt, it is a great one. Thanks for these magical moments.
Oh my gosh…who does your videography? It, and the music you use, are beyond incredible. You’re the finest wood turning artisan I’ve ever seen…absolutely beautiful designs! Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us who can only dream of creating the works of art that you do!
So, I am a quilter. And I long arm professional quilter as well. I thought I wanted a long arm frame and machine someday...now I want to learn how to do what you do and get a lathe!!! I love your work, my friend. Amazing.
The Japanese have a word, for what your eye catches, in "ugly" pieces of wood. The Beauty, which you created out of the burl, is, I think, worthy of being in a museum. Thankyou, David. Namaste 🙏
That's one of my favorite art pieces of all time, out of all the turners out there ‼️ THANK YOU for sharing your videos and your passionate, amazing skills for the world to watch and enjoy ‼️ Thanks again ‼️
Wonderful... love the blend of cherry (in fairly bad condition) that is rescued with resin, and especially how the resin complements it. Hybrid projects are fascinating as they allow damaged wood and "missing" parts to be filled in. Very nice play of colors! Keep up the wonderful work...
That is absolutely beautiful!!! I have a Black Cherry burl that is in about the same shape yours was in. It’s been sitting on my bench for a long time. Every day I stare at it trying to figure out what to do with it. I think you just answered that’s question. Thank you!
David, again! I say this every time but the way you are able to hold my attention start to finish is astounding. That’s not an easy thing to do. 🙃 I just can’t get enough of your editing. I think this piece is my favorite. I love the color choice in the resin work. Thank you for going with something so complimentary. I love contrast as much as the next person but this was fresh for my eyes. In the future I would LOVE to see a rich deep green used, along with a metallic such as gold, bronze, copper as those are hues that really speak to me. Beautiful work, as always. Also, I love watching your channel grow, so proud of you!
Thank you so much, Amy! I appreciate that! And you are in luck! I was planning to use gold and greens to make a leafy router carving in a plane log. Hopefully one of these days!

It never ceases to make me smile, seeing the people on channels like this taking what many would deem to be a seemingly worthless or unusable piece of scrap wood and turn it (accidental pun!) into a beautiful piece of art! You all see the potential beauty hiding within them!
Up to now I have hated resin, but you have proved its place in creativity. You are a true artist as also aptly illustrated in you taping and editing. Thank you
Heart stoppingly beautiful. You did a great job and don't need a buffing system. I like the way you used the different coloured (colored) resin on a alternate basis as this made the colours more natural. Again I say "Excellent" piece.
What a beautiful piece. You are a true artist. Do you see a piece of wood and know what it will look like or does it develop as you work on the piece??? Thanks. Watching you work is like magic.
Hi David, That is amazing. 99 people out of a 100 would have put that piece of wood in the fire bucket. I'm so glad you are one of the 1's that didn't. I have seen other turners who have made hundreds of resin hybrid bowls. This one beats every other one I have seen and it's your first piece. I'm really looking forward to what else you have in store for us all. Immense congratulations on this one David. Take care. cheers, Huw
Wow, thank you so much, Huw! It was a lot of fun to do, but I want to improve my resin finishing skills. I might be too picky but those microscratches really annoy me lol... Cheers and best wishes!
Everytime you went into slow motion, I held my breath. That is historically where turners show a disaster happen. Hard to believe this is your first foray into resin casting. Stunning piece.
your work has become my meditation! it is so beautiful and peaceful to watch. I am sick at the moment and just want to watch something beautiful. this is perfect!
Wow, that's nice. When I saw the start of the turning I thought it was going to be ugly. But as I watched the shaped showed and it's really nice. I've harvested two burls this summer and waiting for them to dry. One is black cherry and the other is maple. I've never turned a burl and have to take my time. The maple has ant holes or something in it which might added character to it. I'm hoping not to have to use resin but that will be something new too. Thanks for the video.
Just started watching wood turning videos, about 3 wks ago. Background music, very soothing. U r a "craftsmanship sure Piece is stunning + artful. Nice job.
If I had seen that burl, my thought would have been "nice piece of firewood". You, however, saw beyond that and transformed it into a magnificent work of art. You never fail to amaze and entertain me...I am addicted to your videos now. Thank you, David!
I am glad we share the same philosophy: "Personally, I want to use resin sparingly and keep wood as 'pure' as possible." Mother nature is wonderful and it's great to amplify what she has bestowed -- it becomes cheap and useless when we try to replace what she has already given us.

Wow, thank you Dana and thanks for sharing that! That is so special! ✌️
😢so heartfelt ❤️
That's lovely.
That beautiful beyond words. The kind of treasured thing that one hands down through the generations as an heirloom. 💖
There are those who are wood turners and then there is you ... a true artist. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
i dont know how many times I've "Wow!" really 10-15 times... truly an artist... sublime!
Your video compositions are almost as beautiful as your wood creations! You are a true fine artist!
As always, mesmerized and beyond impressed with your immense talent!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I don't know why, but I got tears in my eyes at the finished piece. It's otherworldly, beautiful. And then, I noticed at the end that the name on your machine is "JET", which are my initials. I don't know why I feel so emotional about this gorgeous piece of art, but it's amazing.
This may have changed my life. Thank you.
I can appreciate your typically purist approach to the wood, but you took a rotted piece with potential and turned it into a thing of value and beauty. Nice!
It isn't rotted tho, it's just eaten through I think. Wouldn't a rotted piece be wet throughout and pretty much unworkable?
@@ofgreyhairwaifu4089 Wet rot can dry or a pest or microbe can destroy it. Even then, it needs the resin to make it workable. Pretty cool stuff.
Vốn những bài hát ngày xưa đã rất hay rồi mà thêm giọng hát giàu cảm xúc của Phúc nữa thì đúng là cực phẩm cover😍
That resin colour added to the amber warmth of the wood and complimented the texture of the wood with its swirls so beautifully. And the music was wonderful. This video made me happy.

ASMR To the max! I appreciate, and respect our work! I've always wanted to learn his craft.
It never ceases to amaze me that you can take something so beat up, and make something exquisite from it.
Thank you Kathleen. It is a labor of love!
Wow! David, this first try with resin is a master stroke! It magnifies the black cherry burl and the result is pure beauty! Persevere, your creativity can create wonders! Thanks for sharing! 👍😉
In this case wood seems better than gold. Incredible.
All i see and hear on your videos are beyond belief 👌
My husband loves a woodworking but this is above and beyond beautiful
Your finished piece goes beyond just a work of art, your imagination and skill turn what was a living thing destined to decay into an enhanced natural object to be admired, and

Most beautiful piece I have seen so far.
I love that you use color and music, its quiet relaxing and beautiful!
Thank you for the music, like your artistry...so beautiful.
I loved watching this and listening to the marvelous music you choose. Thank you.
Totally agree I was thinking of ballerinas dancing,
I have no words. That's beautiful!
Склоняю голову перед такими Мастерами!!! Браво!!!
A real thing of beauty.
Oh my gosh…who does your videography? It, and the music you use, are beyond incredible. You’re the finest wood turning artisan I’ve ever seen…absolutely beautiful designs! Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us who can only dream of creating the works of art that you do!
Watching your video is much more than just passing time. It is an experience with zen like qualities. Much enjoyed. And the hollow form is beautiful.
Thanks very much, Kent!
I'm now just watching this after binge-watching a bunch of your other hybrid projects. This was a great indicator of wonderful things to come!
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
So many people use too bright of colors when using resin, this was as perfect as it can get. Beautiful!
What a beautiful piece! I'm from Maine and see so many pieces of burl while out in the woods. Now it's fantastic to see it come back to life.
You should be very proud of being able to create such a masterpiece.
I love the addition of the resin. Not typically a fan, but this example is beautifully executed. Wonderful job!
Absolutely stunning!
So, I am a quilter. And I long arm professional quilter as well. I thought I wanted a long arm frame and machine someday...now I want to learn how to do what you do and get a lathe!!! I love your work, my friend. Amazing.
I’m a quilter, too and I feel the same way!
Potters can relate too. Not enough time in a lifetime to do all these things.
If I could afford it I'd join you Carly I quilt too.
Probably my favorite by far
Отличная работа, хорошее видеоряд, и хорошо подобранная музыка. 👍👍👍Однозначно!
Just gorgeous. And extremely meditative to watch. Thank you for filming and posting this!
The Japanese have a word, for what your eye catches, in "ugly" pieces of wood.
The Beauty, which you created out of the burl, is, I think, worthy of being in a museum.
Thankyou, David.
Namaste 🙏
Thank you so much, David!
Semplicemente uno spettacolo fratello grandioso complimenti 😎🙏🏻
David, this color combination is perfection! Can't believe this was your first time using epoxy resin, such a great result!
That is the most beautiful piece of woodturning Ive seen yet. It is simply stunning! Thank you for sharing this film with us.
That's beautiful. I like the color choices. Very nice.
Wonderful. Sheer artistry. Jim Black 👌👌👌👌🏴🏴🏴
The initial spin looks so scary but the outcome looks so beautiful
As crusty and light as that piece looked I was certain it would disintegrate upon initial spin-up!
Absolutely beautiful, the video, the music, and of course the masterpiece you, you created a pure beauty
That's one of my favorite art pieces of all time, out of all the turners out there ‼️ THANK YOU for sharing your videos and your passionate, amazing skills for the world to watch and enjoy ‼️ Thanks again ‼️
Thanks Eric! ✌️
Amazing piece, your finish work and resin color choices are second to no other turner on RUclips.
Thank you so much!
Astonishing, as usual 💛
Absolutely beautiful!!! When I first saw the piece, I had little hope for a good outcome. Thank you for sharing, David.
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on your first resin and wood turning. Looks amazing.
Truly a piece of art, the wood and resin go really well together.
Your presentation is as fine as your artistic talent, all I can say is WOW.
Thank you, Paul!
Great turning. The music was peaceful and relaxing fun to watch
Nice job.
Wow. That’s one of the top three prettiest pieces I’ve seen so far. Beautiful, great job.
That is absolutely beautiful!!! I have a Black Cherry burl that is in about the same shape yours was in. It’s been sitting on my bench for a long time. Every day I stare at it trying to figure out what to do with it. I think you just answered that’s question. Thank you!
Nice! Cherry burl is gorgeous! Happy turning!
The music and the sheer beauty of your creation certainly soothed my soul and I thank you for that.

Another creative idea come to life. I guess your just born with this kind of insight and I Alene. You are amazing in any of your videos.
This is a work of art in itself, beautifully made
From Volcanic Decay to a Thing of Beauty...Amazing 😁😁😁
I'm glad I logged in for another David Adamsen video.
Un precioso trabajo !!! Muchísimas gracias por compartir su arte con nosotros. Un cordial saludo desde Viedma, Patagonia Argentina 🇦🇷🧉🤗

I’ve seen a few of these wood turning vids from different artists. This one tops them. What an exquisite piece!

Piece is stunning + artful. Nice job.
Perfect resin colours, too many constantly use aqua blue, wonderful tones and finish!!
Thank you!
Astonishingly beautiful!
Very volcanic looking David. Perfect place to use resin and it looks fantastic. The opening almost looks to hot to hang on to.
Very nice work,
Gary
Cheers, Gary! I didn't realize the colors would come out like that! Happy accidents! Best to you, my friend!

This is unreal. Hypnotic and gorgeous! 😍
Words fail me!!!!
Same here.
This is insanely cool!!
Man the music makes it feel ominous like it’s about to show your wife leaving you while you work on your masterpiece
LOL I know right? "This piece.... cost me everything....."
Oh my gosh... I was thinking the same thing. Sad sorta..Woman looking out at the sea up on a hillside waiting for her lover never to return. Waaaaaaah
