- Sea fishing here in Sussex after a storm the shellfish baits really do come in to their own. I think sometimes I focus too much on lugworm as the go to bait. In this video I head for the coast of Hastings and st Leonard’s and try my luck with gaper clams, razor fish and cockles.
The cockles I use are know n as queenies- these are the really big ones
It makes the difference for flounder and bass I’m sure of it.
As always please comment on the video , have you had sucsess using these sort of baits ?
They are very much for specific situations I think like here after a good south westerly blow. Спорт
@8:26 you caught a kite! Another great video and loads of great advice. Thanks 👍
Good spot ! thanks
Nice little session Matt and a few good fish too. Bonus 😊
I followed your advice on the day we met Matt. Had a nice bass a few days later.
Yes get in !
Another great session ☺I really enjoy the way you make your sessions, they are all natural, having great time while watching. Also, thank you very much for finding time for the videos in these 🤮 weathers.
Thanks for the feedback. I always try and make those small improvements each time.
@@SaltwaterAngler I think lure fishing season is about to end in Brighton. I can't go because of the strong winds. I tried slider lures like daiwa switch hitters, pozi drive slider lures for casting in strong winds but weed is another big problem in here. I will try my chances with bait fishing :)
That red meat on the clams looks like it could very well trigger a good take. Also looks like a great day for it. Despite the rain, weather has been really mild for this time of year.
Yes indeed well said as always
Nice little one Matt 👍 tight lines bud 🎣👊💪
Hello! I watch you from Russia! Thank you for interesting video!🙏👍😊
Nice one ! Welcome to the channel 👍
Great little session there with some great fish. I always remember using shellfish (especially Queenies) after a storm at this time of the year, on Dungeness & bagging up on Cod. How I wish for those days again.
great memories- one day it might happen again
Great upload thanks for posting, lovely location. Kind regards Mike. Norfolk. Tight lines.
Hi Mike hope things are good up your way.
Great Matt, good fishing weather and a few catches.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Cheers for commentating as always !
Cheers Matt … really enjoyed the video mate. Thanks Matt you take care 👍🎣🎣
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome again Matt, temperature reached 39 2 day 40 plus rest of week ,had a session Saturday morn using lures in the marina, caught flathead, flounder ( nothing like yours) more like a brill ,I had some nice fish useing slipper limpits in my teens from the old Hastings pier & beaches. Happy catching from Australia Nick
Lovely mate ! Wish I was there
Good stuff. Get yourself a b8 m8 for those big cocktails baits. 🍸
Nice one thanks Matt! We don't seem to get shellfish washed up here, but plenty of Mussels & Limpets on the rocks. Not seen Clams or Razors unless you go digging for them. Two of us did get out for an evening session last week - one Whiting on the 1st cast and nothing after that. The Whiting don't seem to have arrived here in numbers yet.
Way behind with RUclips - it's been a horrendously busy year, and just haven't had the time for it like last year.
Tight lines, and stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍
Hi Dave good to hear from you , similar story here with the tings! Lots to catch up on then as the nights draw I.
Not a bad session, nice one 👍👍🤠
Thanks, as I say better angling to come but got to get out in late Autumn
Perfect conditions post storm. great vid👍
Thanks 👍
Nice video as normal always a pleasure
Thanks again!
Used to regularly catch flounders around the 2 lb mark after big storms using washed up Razorfish as bait , alas those days have gone , that was on the south east corner of
I feel they have made a mini comeback last 2 years here
I always use razors after a good blow...its what the bass expect after all
Good bet!
Do you ever touch-leger for bass close in with lighter tackle? I'd love to give it a go but there is a dearth of information about it on RUclips.
Yes very much so ! Particularly with peeler crab in spring and live baiting too. There’s a few bits on the channel over the years but I will remember to make more out of it as a technique next year
God video bro what pounds breaking strain braid do use 😊
15lb for this sort of beach fishing
Nice session Matt, what's the name of your dog?
That’s Nelly ! Aka bean , nellbags , Nelly bean , Nellington - I just call her the dog (which apparently is disrespectful 🤪) she’s a cross between a King Charles and a pug. She’s been great fun on fishing trips
Hi another good video, can i ask what rods you use for your beach fishing Thankyou in advance. Tom
Hi yes I’ve listed them on the website. Www.saltwaterangler.co.uk
Is that dog yours?
The Nelly bean ! Yes
@@SaltwaterAngler a wee cracker! Great company whilst fishing
Flounders gone from Portsmouth
Shame but also interesting maybe very localised
Small fish nothing majority need a boat
Can’t wait to get out this weekend and catch anything to be honest . Been to long since I have been fishing
Ahh get out there- and let us know how you get on 👍
It's all small fish no fillets for the cat or family if you have one left !GATE13SW6CREW CFC
