  • Hello~😊 This is Swimmistyle !
I'm Mihye Choi and I'm a swimming coach in Korea.
In this time, I will learn the timing of Dolphin kick after the start of swimming.
You would like to kick a Dolphin kick as soon as you start, but if you wait a little while, your body will move forward.
I had to shoot the start scene very many times for the video. I was completely exhausted after it was over.
Let's go for it and enjoy swimming! :) #swimmistyle

Hello! This is Choi Mi-hye in Swimmistyle.
Today we will learn about the timing of dolphinkick when getting started and learn how to practice.
When Is the Fastest Time in Swimming?
    It's right after we start.
Since the combination of jumps and gravity gives us a strong thrust,
we can achieve peak speeds ranging from 0.3 seconds to 0.7 seconds by taking the streamline after getting in water.
And after the right section, it starts to slow down and float.
We can make the most of it by waiting a little while for this top speed section.
Sometimes, there are people who get in and just kick their feet right off without waiting.
    I actually did.
I was in a hurry to get it, and I felt it would be quicker if I kick a dolphin right after getting in water.
However, if you kick a dolphin immediately after getting in water, resistance will occur.
It consumes power, but it can not exceed its maximum speed immediately after getting in water.
Resistance may cause slower movements. This section is only capable of passing quickly with a streamline movement that minimizes resistance. And just before it slows down, you can keep pace by kicking a dolphin.
Let's practice the timing of dolphin kick.
The training is divided into three stages.
The first exercise begins with a start, then counts on 1, 2, and 3 count, and then kick a dolphin.
If you wait up to 3, you'll have some reduction in acceleration, so it's probably before it floats or when it rises.
When you count 3 count, kick a dolphin to the surface.
This exercise will give you a sense of the speed and speed at which you are about to enter and exit.
The second exercise begins with a start, then counts 1 and 2 count, then kick a dolphin.
When you count 2 , it may still be accelerating.
As it is a middle step in the fast pace and the slow pace, this training is necessary for the next step. If you don't practice this training, the next training can be difficult to find timing.
The third exercise begins with a start, then counts 1, and then kick a dolphin
The timing of 1 second is fast. It's similar with the timing of dolphin kick when swimming with the dash.
You should feel the maximum speed, make sure you are making it level quickly, and try to kick the dolphin.
I recommend that you train three times, 15 meters, for each set from the first training to the third training.
If the third training is good, practice at a faster time.
Our goal is faster than 1 second.
As I mentioned earlier, after getting a start, it is possible to achieve a maximum speed, on average, from 0.3 seconds to 0.7 seconds.
To set this timing, we've trained ourself to feel the speed in three stages.
Find the right timing for yourself by kicking it a little bit faster than 1 second.
Timing training can also be used to turn and kick the wall.
Because you can also use acceleration when kicking away from the wall.
You can train step by step like a start.
It would be a good idea to exercise every time you leave the wall during the training, feeling the acceleration.
Our ultimate goal is to take advantage of the acceleration and kick the dolphin just before it slows down.
The training will give you an idea of when your speed will drop, and will give you a hint as to when to connect the dolphin kick.
It also makes use of its propulsion, so that you can save your energy in start and use more energy in swimming.
It's easy to miss, but I think it's an important point in a record fight that lasts for 0.1 seconds.
So I want to say something like this.
"Wait for the rush! A faster record will be waiting."
Well, Let's go for it and see you next time♥
