Great video as always Josh! There are a lot of things changing for Sorcery and a lot of people have already unfortunately left the game. I've been with Sorcery since kickstarter and I'm still in love with the game despite these changes. I love the artists, the company, as well as the community. This game brought us all together and I'm happy to be apart of that.
What I would like to see improved: Communication. Print run expectation (especially for Beta - they haven't committed to not overprinting the cards - the singles are cheap enough so no reason to print more). Communication on expected reprinting - are they going to reprint Phil Stone into a $20 card or will they create a version of a Reserved List and keep good values on some of the cards? Are they going to make a "base set" to keep product in stores or are we just going to jump from yearly release to yearly release? (would be great to see two sets on the shelf as they move forward - one expansion and one base set)
Awesome video as always, Josh! In a similar boat like you, love this game. Hits all the nostalgic feels of growing up with TCGs. So pumped for AL and hope for future support of a competitive scene. I know EC has clearly stated it’s for kitchen table experience but I have hope as we evolve and grow!
I really wonder if Erik’s Curiosa doesn’t have an issue with delays. They have issue with delays when trying to get product delivered on exact due dates so no one will spoil. I truly think they want this to be a surprise for everyone like sets use to be in early Magic. Impossible to do today with social media unless everyone actually gets the boxes on the release day and open together. Other games spoil everything beforehand… then product can arrive way early and it doesn’t matter. If Sorcery arrives early someone will ultimately spoil it for everyone 🤷♂️
A great overview, Josh! You missed a lot of the controversies with the delays with Alpha! The 3 extra packs with Alpha that was "going to tank collectability". I´m already thinking about going straight to 60-40 decks!
100% agree! It is so easy to focus on very small event (Especially the one that looks negative) without looking at the big picture: This game is fun and collectible, it as some drawback, but the overall picture is positive.
OMG, the major curio talk. We need people to check out the back of the cards for the sites. I wonder if the original site backing will occur as a curio. With the little names on the back of the cards.
I thought of that, but checking the backs of cards is going to be a time consuming endeavor, so I didn't figure it was worth the mention as a quick tell of a curio.

I'm not getting rid of any bulk until all the curios have been identified. Remember how long it took to discover the trolls in Alpha.
I just hope they don’t slot them in completely randomly this time around.
